Canadian bacon tasted more like spam, hollandaise sauce was below mediocre, & the hash browns were greasy but nearly tasteless. Great dinner that I've been going to for years. Service is always courteous and prompt. You can't go wrong here, from breakfast to dinner. Parking isn't the best so you may have to drive around, they have a small lot. (That's what she said). And you'll never go wrong with a gyro. Absolutely amazing. For someone who is rather picky, this place really amazes me every single time. Their margarita pizza is the best pizza I've had. Even better than most Italian restaurants around. And their paninis are also really amazing my fav is their Greek panini. Always big portions enough for two meals. Came here with my family on Friday night and was greatly disappointed. I ordered the mac & cheese with two crabcakes and it was disgusting. Crabcakes were made with imitation crab meat and the mac & cheese was a hot mess . My husband did not think his Panini was all that great either. The kids spaghetti and pasta left much to be desired. I work in Bloomfield my co workers order from here all the time. Yesterday someone offered to buy me lunch I accepted and ordered a Cobb salad way over priced for what you get. It comes in a tortilla bowl which is not great. lettuce and then a little bit of tomatoes a 1/8 of a piece of avocado (bearly there) 1 GREEN egg cut in half. How does an egg get so green ??? This place is hardly a typical diner! You walk in and it is seriously adorable inside and looks like a high class diner! The menu is expansive, seriously a LOT to choose from. I'll admit, I chose a chicken caesar salad (because I was craving- normally I am much more adventurous) even with that said, I enjoyed my meal so much. I ordered a scoop of rainbow sherbert for dessert and it was so yummy. Service could have been better- our server wasn't really friendly but I'll let it go for the fact we went at 11pm. One of the worst dining experiences ever. My wife and I came in for a late dinner, and as requested, were seated on the rooftop. Truth be told, the ambiance was pleasant, and the crowd was friendly and chill. Now - enter our server, Robert. From the getgo, he seemed confused and overwhelmed. Since both my wife and I have waited on tables in the past, our immediate, knee-jerk reaction was to be supportive (I mean, hey! We've all been weeded and exhausted, we get it). We gave Robert our orders which - I believe - were simple and straightforward, the only modification being a dressing on the side. We repeated it twice, and I mentioned that I'd like to start with the soup. It took about 20 minutes for Robert to come back, and for us to discover that the order was completely screwed up. My wife's specs for the salad were ignored, and I don't know what kind of thought process (if any) led Robert to bringing me what he did, considering that I was specific and almost repetitive about what I wanted. I sent it back asking for a box for my wife's salad and the check. After another 15 or so minutes Robert comes back with the soup (!!!) which the manager (if there was one on the floor that night) didn't take off the check. (For the record - the soup was watery and over-all lacking. A real shame, because normally I'm a sucker for French onion.) Based on the choice of their FOH staff, I think that the place might be mismanaged, or just run as a free-for-all. I also believe that being a busboy who isn't required to carry more than two plates at a time (one in each hand), might for a while be a sufficient challenge for some of their servers. The customers suffer, sure. You guys might not care about one two-top that you screwed up, but in the long run, your margins and reputation might take a dive because of the accumulation. Think about it if you want, and if not... well, may you live long and happy lives :) read more

On a recent visit for breakfast I noticed the place had been remodeled. The new look is very nice but the service still sucks. The service was very slow and the food was cold. I asked for water and when the server returned asked if I had gotten my water when it was clear that there was no water glass on the table. One thing that remains the same is the amazing food and quality service. Whenever my husband and I visit our daughter we make sure to stop in and get fresh cup of coffee. Went to state street today for the first time since they began their outdoor dining. We had been there countless times before this pandemic and always love it and have a great experience. Today, unfortunately, was not so great. We are unsure if they are under new management, because we did not recognize any of the employees, however, the management was very unorganized today. We were seated and watched as a party of ~8 got up from their table. The tables were moved back into position, however NOTHING was wiped down, not the tables, not the chairs nothing. We were shocked at how unsanitary the outdoor dining was. Another thing was that half the staff, including our waitress, had their masks below their noses and some even under their chins. The whole experience was very concerning and unfortunately we likely will not be returning until they get it a little bit more u see control. read more
