If there was zero stars I would put that…read more I've lived in a couple apartments with different companies and to say this company is the worst ive ever rented from, is an understatement. My rent was from August 2025-July 2026 and we received an "as is unit" which was fine because it was "newly renovated with new appliances... Where do I begin... We got a "renovated unit" which has terrible crackfill & paint jobs, looks like a 2 year old could paint better, huge gaps between the baseboard and flooring, cracks in the wall for bugs to come crawling in (there is many), windows not washed in how long (being on the very bottom floor its really not pleasing) countertops arent properly latched on (wobbles everytime you rest on it) The whole building smells like mothballs so you need to burn so many candles or wallflowers for your unit to smell half decent without getting stuffed up. Zero insulation, you can hear your neighbours whole conversation by just talking normally, constantly stomping and screaming and crying from the unit above us, alarm clocks ringing for hours left untouched at 5am. In the winter your mini spilt unit has to be cranked full blast 24/7 for a comfortable setting. Wrote them multiple complaints and confronted them about laws and regulations as well as tenant rights, and was left on read. If we are having a disagreement they will read your message and not write back. My boyfriends truck was stolen mid day from THEIR visitor parking lot (which has ZERO lighting" landlords were ZERO help, careless and unremorsful, they dismissed our rights and that we "had to talk through police" (we found the truck later that night ON OUR OWN) we then parked both cars infront of our window for proper safety since they have lost our trust, and they threatened to tow vehicles. As a result from Killam there was no improvement of safety in the parking lot, no lighting, failure to improve security and lack of surveillance in and around the building. Ive been getting someone's dity water in my kitchen sink since Ive moved in, the only way they could "fix it" was if it was happening that second. There was a plumping inspection (Killam Plumpers) they asked me if I had any problem or concerns and I mention the skin backing up, they then told me not one word of a lie "that is normal it comes from the top floor and hits every floor to the bottom" then continued to tell me stories of other Killam properties that have "normal backups". Me being on the bottom floor knowing what they told me was false, I wanted to throw up. Its the landlords way or the highway, I have a very protective dog who doesnt do too well with strangers, I like to be present when there is anything going on inside my unit so I can control my dog, they like to schedule appointments when I am not available, doesnt care to compromise with my school and work schedule and that I have to take off time, rebook clients, just because they won't compromise. It is now May and our lease is up in July. I will not be renewing my lease and they want to schedule viewings of my current unit with all of my personal belongings to future tenants within the week. I dont approve of this, I think they should find a unit that's similar and NOT furnished to show future tenants, especially without me being there. I wouldnt recommend this company even to my worst enemy, its filthy, lack and poor communication between landlords and company. Landlords are awful to deal with as they are heartless, not compassionate and VERY hard to deal with. Especially when youre trying to have an adult to adult conversation they go mute. I am 23 years old living here by myself 90% of the time with a large dog for protection, have a part time job and full-time in school. I have already found a better apartment with incredible landlords, the building is up to par and I know we are going to be stressfree and a lot happier in how our money will be spent. Never will I be renting from Killam nor recommending it to anyone.

Started off when they didn't tell me a bunch of little things. Like how my lease renews…read moreautomatically. No where on any documents does it say that. The documents say the procedure for getting out of your lease early but I just didn't want to renew my lease. So I guess my month and a half notice wasn't enough. They also only direct withdrawal as a method of paying rent so I had to give them my banking information. I was very uncomfortable with that but I did it anyway. Only to have them take money from a DIFFERENT BANK ACCOUNT and they took WAY MORE THAN THEY WERE EVER SUPPOSED TO. Thankfully my bank was able to reverse the charge and get me money back. Also they increase the rent by about $20 every year to the point where some of the elderly ladies in my building are forced to leave as they are on a fixed income and the rent has increased substantially since they moved in. You'd think living in the same building for 10 years they would stop raising they're rent cause they've been such loyal tenants but no.

Sound Pollution, Constant Construction, Vandalism, Poor Maintenance, Lowest Quality Building…read moreMaterials, etc. They look like nice buildings to live in but once you live in them you'll know how awful it is. If you need to sleep you're not allowed to. In the winter they tractor the snow at 3am outside your bedroom almost every night. Then during the summer get ready for the bulldozers to destroy your parking space and garbage hut at 7am and you'd better move your car or else it might be damaged by construction or towed. So I really hope the next person looking to rent an apartment sees this so they know whether or not they'd like to be constantly violated in your own home and have to pay for it.

100% do NOT recommend‼‼ moved into one of the buildings…read more last year thinking it was gonna be a nice suburban neighborhood with not much action we were right about the suburban part but the amount of times we've watched the maintenance workers let themselves into our neighbours houses was un necessary. we would be sure to ask our neighbors about it in case they did have permission to enter but turns out there were no words exchanged at all the neighbors went to work and that's when they would come in we were lucky enough to have some protective dogs and we've actually caught them just standing on the front porch peering into the window while my dogs were going crazy almost like they were purposely teasing them!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS company should be shut down it's very corrupt
