Despite all of this, I still found myself a little confused on where to go and where to check the train schedule. If you are dropped off by a taxi, you want to immediately go down the stairs to the platforms (peron) and then you will see a little bit of signage telling you where the main station is. If you want to check which platform your train will be on, this is the way to do it.
My train was there waiting very early for me as Kraków was the starting point. The doors for the train opened about 10 min before go-time and you have to press a button to open the door to get on the train, they don't open automatically. It should be noted that unlike in the US, there is also a huge gap between the train door and the platform so you sorta need to take a big step/hop between the two.
Overall, very easy process and had little trouble despite it being my first time there and not knowing polish.
