Charge forward, the marvellous Bull Inn, the shining light of the Paisley bar scene which has been keeping Buddies happy since 1901, making it officially the oldest pub in the town. The Bull is as handsome a bar as you will find in the west of Scotland and its traditional fittings and homely atmosphere are almost worth the jaunt to Paisley alone. If you do manage to bag one of its four snugs (unlikely during lunch times and big match days) then make sure you cancel any prior arrangements. As a bit of a traditionalist, I'm not quite sure I would go that far. The place is fine, certainly, but lacks the character of many of the town's older bars. Mind you, given some of these can be a tad on the rough side, you can at least be guaranteed the Craig Dhu is a safe option in every sense of the word.

When you walk in, it seems like it has potential, it's quite large and there's plenty of room for large and small groups. I'm not sure if it was the time of night (around 7pm) but all of the lights were on which gave the place a very lifeless feeling. There were plenty of people hanging out- a great mix of people but the lights being on full blast just made everything feel cold. We only stayed for one drink but I was able to browse the snacks menu. Lots to choose from that sounded nice. Drinks were cheap enough as well. I don't think we'd come back here just because it wasn't really our vibe. We like smaller pubs when we can choose them.

People kept going back for cocktails while I was there, so they must be decent, certainly looked intriguing. For a pub in Paisley, it felt like a slice of the West End to me. None of it was fresh and after multiple wrong attempts to deliver the actual right order.. It still tasted bad. My friend even complained and said the Mac was so bad she couldn't eat it. Not really I pub I tend to frequent as it's more for people that are middle aged.Always lots of…read moresinging from the Karaoke when you walk past,it certainly sounds like people are enjoying themselves.The interior of the pub is a wee bit old fashioned but actually quite nice.It gets very busy at weekends as the drink is cheap.Tends to be alot of fights going on around this area so I usually try and steer clear around closing time as thats when it can get a bit heated.They also do a good selection of food during the day,which is actually very nice and prices are cheap too.
