Den Haag Centraal is a modern railway station, serving The Hague centre, with connections to the railway, HTM trams and the Rotterdam Metro. The largest terminal station in the Netherlands, with easy connections to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Schipol. The station opened in the 1970s yet feels fresh and modern, with the recent renovation that was completed in 2017. Unlike most train stations in the Netherlands, you are able to get to most of the shops without a ticket or OV-chipkaart to pass through, the layout in terms of separating the shops and platforms is much more thought out here. There is a Starbucks inside the station with a small seating area, as well as a SPAR just outside the station, perfect for picking up essentials ahead of your trip. Easy to get around the station, and then exit towards the exciting The Hague Center. I would have expected more seats outside of the businesses inside the station, to sit while waiting for the train. 4* read more

Very modern station. It is an END point of the tracks, meaning when they pull into the station they will depart the opposite direction. There is a grand piano for people to play and plenty of food and convenience stores. The Netherlands IND and Government office buildings are directly next door. If there's one thing the Dutch do well, it's mass transit. Our trip to the Hague was easy and comfortable. The train station is beautiful and has plenty of amenities at your disposal before you head out into the city or back on the train for your next adventure. I like this train station! One of the few stations I've been to in the Netherlands that I would give a 5 star rating. First of all, it's really awesome to have tram terminal here is well with a roof. You will appreciate that when you have experienced the randomly rainy weather in the country. Amsterdam Centraal is too big and chaotic, Rotterdam doesn't have trams inside, but den Haag does and is big enough to fit a some decent eateries but not too big and crowded like Amsterdam. I also like how the platform roof is made of all glass and it lets in natural light. Like the other major train stations, you get lockers for your luggage in this station too which is very helpful when you're touring the country by public transportation. Overall it's clean and easy to navigate. 5 stars! read more

So one thing to note!! Don't get confused between the numbering of the platforms for the trams and the train station, which is what my mum did!!! Other than that, very well laid out station with great signage that makes it easy to navigate. Architecture wise, the station is very similar to the town hall with glass rooftop, soaring ceilings and modern industrial design. The connections to the bus and trams are also very well marked. Den Haag Centraal is the largest train station in the Dutch city of The Hague. It is the largest terminal station in the Netherlands with 12 tracks and a direct connection to Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam. This is where I get off when visiting Company HQ. I've always liked the simplicity of this station. The Light Rail Trains stop on one side, the Babylon Hotel is on the other and the cab stand and bikes are up front. There's nothing fancy here regarding concessions, just good and plain public transportation. read more

Now that the construction is mostly finished the station is actually quite better. There are a variety of places to stop and get something to eat or drink and the station itself is not that far away from the Center of Den Haag. Te main station in The Hague has been going under renovations for a while. Still it is not completed, yet it looks like there are almost done. You have easy access to all public transport, upper floor bus and some trams, and from the outside the remaining teams. You can also rent bicycles in the ground floor. As far as food/shops this station is no different to most in the country, Starbucks, julias's, hema, kiosk, etc they are all present. read more

Construction's almost done, and it's looking like a nice station. Big ceiling, nice and airy. I like how the metro station runs perpendicular to the trains one level above, and is easy to find and get to via excavators. There's a good selection of shops to pick up a snack or some last minute items. Hopefully they'll get the tram situation sorted soon! read more

There's an ongoing renovation that sort of brings the impact down a tad. But there's a large staffed station for problems with OV-cards or just simply charing them. There's a range of food places for the quick on the go lunch and a cute little AH if you need some water and yoghurt (and actually candles when all else is closed as well). As far as the few European train stations that I have been to go, this was one of the nicest. The layout is just more convenient, it kinda reminded me of a airport terminal (in a good way). The lockers were affordable, easy to find and secure. Although Amsterdam is a heavy tourist destination, the train station never felt cramped. Don't forget your change to use the bathroom here. We ended up getting to the city several hours before we could check in to our rented houseboat (really is the way to do it!) so we walked around outside the station. The main shopping area as well as the Red Light District are both an easy five minute walk from the station, and Dam Square is maybe 10. read more

I miss the old station, but the new one is very modern with a lot of style. The flow of traffic is much improved, and it no longer feels crowded. If you need to use the ticket office, avoid peak traffic times because the line can get quite long. read more
