I loved this station. I love the attention to detail, and beautiful artwork aligning the walls as you walk into the station.
It is a smaller station, and under construction, but I still found it charming. I know the wall details are not what you want to know about, you want to know how efficient the trains are, and if there are any places to eat or drink...or any shopping.
The buses drop you off right at the door if you ride the bus to the station, and there is a large bike park. I didn't see a car park, but I'm sure there is one.
When we were leaving Gent we were on a tight leash with barley enough time to get to the platform to find which train to catch, which was a tad bit confusing, but we eventually got on the right line.
I saw one coffee stand, but had to pass it up, in order to walk through all the construction, and climb the many stars to make it on time. On my way to the platform I didn't see any other types of shops. I'm sure there are some, but I didn't see any.
There is a small glass encased "wait room" on the upper platform that we went into, because it was so cold this day, but it was freezing inside as well. I staying in it, just to keep the cold wind from blowing right through me, which really didn't help much, because the door had a gap, and didn't close all the way.
Finally here comes our train....ah nice and warm. Train station does have wifi or else I wouldn't have been able to "check in" on Yelp.
When construction is done I'm sure this station will be amazing. read more
