The service is great, Andy at the front desk was wonderful. All the stars are for Andy, the blonde lady who works the breakfast bar sometimes, and the housekeeper with long gray hair and glasses. I was told they have only one handicap room with two queen beds, room 318. The bathroom door opens the wrong way and it's horrible to navigate getting past the closet and past the door. There's still a tub in this bathroom. It definitely didn't start life as a handicap room, and it's really only halfway there. The beds are soooo incredibly firm that if you sit on the bed to watch TV, it eventually starts to make your tailbone sore. And the sofa pulls out into the worst mattress I've ever seen, or heard. The springs are so loud and you can feel them like there's only a thin cloth between you and them. The bathroom is old, rust or old mildew around the bottom of the tile where it meets the tub and at the circle water cap thing above the drain. I think it's an overflow thing. So it's an alright stay, loved the staff and housekeeping, but they sure do need some upgrades or something if they're going to charge the same or more as other suites hotels in the area. read more

The hotel is a little older, but well kept up by a caring staff. The hotel was quiet too and we were on the street side! My husband celebrated his 74th birthday while we were staying at the hotel and they gave us permission to invite a small group of friends and family to celebrate with cake and ice cream in the breakfast area when it was not in use. The full size refrigerator, in our room, kept the ice cream frozen. I highly recommend this hotel for cleanliness, great breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff, and convenient to all parts of San Angelo! read more

Stayed here a couple of nights - didn't spend much time at the hotel as we were in town for a wedding and spent lots of time with family. Their pet policy is the best in town. We had to bring our 3 dogs on short notice, and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. Room was good-sized and clean. Breakfast was adequate. They do a Texas-shaped waffle maker, which is essential for a hotel! Good price too. read more

After another stay, I'm upping my review to 4 stars. We were able to get a 3rd floor, top floor, corner room. Staying in a top floor corner room allowed for a much quieter and more comfortable stay. Apparently, corner rooms are much larger as our room had a full size couch, coffee table and more room to walk around. The room was clean too. read more

This is your standard Staybridge. But with a CRAZY rate. I abhor fracking (hydraulic fracturing). The environmental damage is horrifying, and the tap water isn't safe. But it's going on in this region. The men that work for the energy companies doing it take up a ton of hotel rooms, thus driving up demand. The hotels then price-gouge. This Staybridge is not above price gouging. And it is definitely NOT worth $200 a night. I had to get special permission from my state agency's commissioner to get the state to pay so far above the federal rate, just to stay here and conduct state business in the area. That said, everything was comfortable. The room itself is your basic extended stay room. It was smaller than other Staybridges I've stayed at. But the full kitchen came in handy being a vegan in a town like San Angelo. I was especially happy to see a toaster. I was also happy to have a full size fridge so I could store the distilled water jug I bought. The internet was also adequate. And the bed was comfortable. I also liked the fitness room. It was large and empty most nights. The treadmills sucked though. I wish IHG had standards about what kind of treadmills their franchisees had to purchase, like Marriott seems to have. Again, fine hotel. Just not worth $200 a night. read more

My recent stay was a great experience. Loved having a kitchenette to stock all my food and fruit. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishware, eating supplies, coffee, condiments, cooking supplies and a dishwasher. The room was very clean and staff were very friendly. I enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and fitness center which were all clean. They even had two gas grills to cook out, too bad i had a very short stay. Their breakfast and social dinners were really good with a nice variety of dishes and Robert the Dining Room Host did an amazing job with catering to everyone on top of being super friendly which made it very pleasant! Their location was great with many stores and restaurants close by and easy access to fwy to get around. Definitely recommend this as your next home away from home! read more

It was hard to decide how to rate this hotel . Very friendly staff upon Check-in . Clean lobby , easy safe lighted parking, quite stay , comfortable room. But there were 2 problems I'll start with the bathroom. Apparently housekeeping on wipes the things in the bathrooms they think u can c. There was urine where a man obviously couldn't aim at the toilet running all down the front and sides. Guess housekeeping doesn't consider the entire toilet something that should be cleaned and sanatized for the next guests . And don't let me forget to mention the pubic hair to go along with the urine. Got up Saturday morning went to breakfast at 9 am and there was nothing but a couple of sausage links and eggs left . No milk , no coffee, no ice for drinks , no batter . So I guess breakfast is 1st come 1st serve here. They do not have enough to put out or restock for the rest of the guests. read more

I was really excited to see that Priceline users rated this hotel a 9.2 out of 10. The class rating was a 2.5 so I wasn't expecting the Ritz, but I had high hopes. I will start out that the staff from the desk clerk, to our housekeeper and the restaurant ladies were great. The positives: The kitchenettes were a nice touch Extra Pillows always a bonus Complimentary popcorn, coffee and hot tea in your room are always nice Ice maker in the fridge, yay! Mini Market in the lobby was nicely stocked. There were a few things I could not get past to do better on the rating: The elevator: glacial, I would have taken the stairs if they had been close. Noxious Odor: The was a sour smell emitting from the third floor laundry room. I suspect either the washers needing service or their had been a leak that had not been extracted properly. The Hound of the Baskervilles: there was a very unhappy dog howling and scratching next door during our stay. Analog Television: come on, you had the nice HD TVs, but with an analog signal, really? Breakfast Buffet: I had really mixed feelings about breakfast. There was a decent variety and a great staff, but no ice for the soft drinks? There were (5) kinds of coffee, hot tea and cocoa, but cheap cups that collapsed when you tried to put a lid on them? Also (not affecting my rating) why do people think it is OK to come to breakfast in their disheveled night clothes, bed head and no shoes?! Water Pressure: this was my biggest complaint. I did not feel clean after a shower. Overall, I would stay there again, but with lower expectations, plus I would bring my own coffee cup. read more

I actually enjoyed my stay at Staybridge when I visited my boyfriend over Labor Day weekend. I booked the hotel on Priceline and paid a little over $100 per night. Now i am a bit picky when it comes to where I stay at during my vacations and I've come to realize I'm willing to pay a bit more just to get a more comfortable and clean hotel. This place is just what I had expected (from reviews on Priceline) and more. First, the hotel is very clean and the staffs are super friendly. They have a breakfast buffet (bummed I didn't get to try) and a nice den area in the main lobby where guests can hang out and watch T.V. They have an outdoor pool and hot tub with 2 BBQ grills in the common area. I thought this is a really neat idea because it offers guests a feel of being at home, in their backyard enjoying the hot weather. I thought the pool is just a bit too shallow (only goes to 4.5 ft). It's perfect for younger guests but for grownups it might be on the smaller scale. I booked a king size room and was shocked when i saw a stove and full fridge inside the room. It wasn't on the hotel amenities when I was looking at the hotel on Priceline. I thought it was a nice extra touch because guest can actually cook in the room, if they wish. And believe me, that small kitchenette may come in handy because there isn't a lot of food options in San Angelo. Luckily, this will be my last visit to San Angelo because the boyfriend will be coming to California. In the event if I will need to visit good old San Angelo again, I will stay at Staybridge again. read more

I typically do not leave reviews, but I was so uncomfortable during my stay that I feel it is imperative that I leave a warning to others. It is obvious that this location has recently gone through a "renovation" however, it seems that they only changed a few aesthetics & did not really take the time to make repairs, clean or upgrade. New carpet & paint does NOT make up for the overall feeling of dirty & old here. 1st--I checked in & was given a double bed room, when I informed staff that I'd like a king as I reserved, I was "upgraded". Upgraded to a handicap room (although I did not know this until I entered the new room.) In this case "upgrade" meant no counter space in the bathroom, missing desk chair, rod so short even my shortest outfit touched the floor (and I am 5 ft tall by the way). 2.---The pillows are all old feather pillows-each a tiny size. 2 of the pillowcases were dirty. When I called for replacements I was told the only option was feather. One of the replacement pillows that I was brought was dirty. 3.---when I turned on the shower there was such a layer of filth in the tub that the water drained brown until i had rinsed it all down & dried it with a towel. The shower curtain has finger print stains where it has been pulled open. 4.---there are red stains on the carpet (hopefully not blood? But once that is in your brain--it's all you can think of) 5.---the a/c unit is SO LOUD!!!!! It needs to be replaced. Can barely hear the tv when it kicks on. And it certainly is startling in the middle of the night. 6.---the couch in the living room is filthy & pillows are worse. I'm pretending the living room is not attached to my room. And the cutlery & dish towels in the kitchen are dirty--it is obvious that the dish towels have not been washed but simply refolded dirty. 7.---the smoke detector above the bed has a plastic bag over it. Why? To sum it up, it just feels dirty & dingy. I have 1 more night here & I am eager to check out. I am an IHG member & I have not felt so uneasy in a hotel in my recent memory. If I could have checked out early I would have but staying here for group meeting. If I find myself in the area again I will definitely be staying elsewhere. read more

I made my reservation for Straybridge in San Angelo over a month in advance through Booking.com . The Hotel sent me a confirmation on September the 19th. On Wednesday the 20th they sent a email confirming my stay. We were running early so we went by the hotel Saturday the 23rd at 1:00 pm to see if we might be able to check in early. The person at the front desk to comeback at 3:00 pm. So we just went on to the event we were in town for and would just check in after event. We arrived back at the hotel to check in at around 6:20 pm. The man working the front desk told me that our room had water damage from earlier in the week and that they had to cancel our reservation. He went on to say that he had called me and left a message on my phone. He did in did in fact leave a message at 5:48 pm telling me of the cancellation. I just do not know why they waited so late to notify me if the room flooded during the week. As of right now they have failed to refund my money for the room and on top of that they charged me another $39.89. Which I guess they charged me for having my room cancelled. That is a sorry way to run a business. read more

I stay here two nights while in San Angelo TX. The hotel was one of the best hotels I stayed in. The room was in credible, I had a small kitchenette with stainless steal appliances, dishes, and a snack bar. THERE WAS EVEN A FULL SIZE DISHWASHER! King size bed, very nice bathroom and very quiet.The room is very very clean! I forgot the most important part, full buffet breakfast and happy hour with free drinks and food. The first night I stayed was free wings and draft beer. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE IN THE San Angelo AREA. read more

Wonderful rooms equipped with a kitchen, dishwasher, fridge, sink, stove, coffee maker, and even various dishes to use. There is a television with a desk and in some they even have a separate living room with a couch. They have a complimentary breakfast buffet, a washer and dryer unit, a snack counter, a pool and jacuzzi. The staff is very pleasant as well!! The pillows and blankets are soooo soft and always clean. It makes you want to stay here indefinitely!!!! I will miss this place and can only hope to be back in my near future read more

The pictures on the website are definitely not representative of the rooms. The kichenette sink had hot water only. If you plan on breakfast on the weekend, be ready to wait until 7:30 to eat. Among the nicest hotels available in this small out-of-the-way town. This is where you want to stay if base lodging is full. I am really happy I stayed here, despite some criticisms, and would definitely do so again. It has a great location across street from ASU and 10 mins from Goodfellow AFB. The rooms are tasteful, comfortable and unreasonably priced. Hotel looks nice from the outside so you feel good pulling in. Beds are comfortable, pillows are great, various amenities like gym, free laundry machines, complimentary breakfast buffet and afternoon socials are really neat features. The pool area is nice but more on that later... OK, so, what too look out for? I made a list of everything I could think of. Some of its really nit picky nonsense most folks wouldn't notice or care about. Some of it is obvious and disappointing and is directed at management so they can get things up to snuff. Avoid the third floor. Their were lots of industry contractors on it. A raucous and discourteous collection of loud mouths and drunks. Everything on third floor is noisy. The floors creak like an old mansion up there. The guests are loud. They bang the doors shut, they yell into their speaker phones, they crank the tv up. The free washers and dryers are on third floor and they bang and squeak all day. Its even worse on the knickerbocker road side with all the traffic noise from the 7 lane road and stop light right there. The pool area is really nice. It has some pergolas, really nice patio furniture, a hot tub, some propane grills and is landscaped enough to provide a notion of privacy. Unfortunately caring for the pool is an afterthought. It was always loaded with leaves and dead bugs. Same with the hot tub. The hot tub had a greenish stain on the lower parts of the tub. Housekeeping did a great job. They usually got to my room around 5pm on most days which is when I'm trying to unwind from a long day. They are very sweet and will do a fantastic job refreshing the room. I just wish they got there sooner. Breakfast was great 4/5 times I had time to stop in for some. Maintenance could do a few things better. For almost a week there were lots of peanut shells in the stairwells. The carpets are stained in all the stairwells from all the contractors dragging in dirt and oil. The back stairwell doors are very difficult to open from the inside. Some hallway light fixtures made a buzzing sound the entire time I stayed there. Bottom line, this is a nice place to stay when traveling, is the best place if you have to stay off base and should be at the top of your list for San Angelo. read more

An upscale hotel, so you're looking at paying $100+, but this place is just incredible. Obvious attention to details and to customer comfort. It's a little pricey for most of my hotel stays, but I'll probably just save my extra money for the stay. Has all the amenities you can think of. My favorite was a choice of four pillows on the bed, and if none of these are the right firmness, there are three more pillows in the closet to choose from. Perfect bed. Not too soft, not to firm. My stay at this hotel made for a great night's sleep. Great respite for a weary traveler. Room also includes a mini-kitchen, though for my overnight stay that wasn't really necessary. read more

Room was ok, grounds and rest of hotel were pretty dirty. A tissue was in the stairwell all 3 days I was there-visible. Table at the elevator was covered with dust. Plates on a table at the pool all 3 days, pool was very dirty and hot tub was green. The location was good though. Not worth the money. read more

Gerat place to stay. Full size fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, and dishwasher. High ceilings dark wood in the room and a comfortable bed. The shower had lots of preasure and plenty of hot water. The batroom is big and laid out well. The gym looks very well equipped too. Breakfast is included sausage, eggs, biscuits, waffles and coffee. All at a very reasonable price. Apparently the room I got was adjacent to a person with a dog. No problem right? Wrong? This little bastard barked constantly. Without relief. I finally got to the point that I called the front desk asking where the owner was? I got told "they're allowed". I have no problem with a pet, just do your part and keep the little fucker quiet. The internet sucked ass. It was beyond horrible. I found an "unknown" pill underneath my sink and shit stains on my toilet seat. If you have a chance, do not stay here. Find yourself a nice $49 a night motel. You'll be better off. I decided to stay, won't happen a second time..... read more

While most of the front desk people were courteous the housekeeping most definitely needs work. They didn't refill any of the items used, they didn't take out the trash, also they left her door open!!! My coworker and I came home from work and the door to her room was open and unlocked!!!! Also there was someone else's hair in the bathtub!!! She has dark reddish brown hair. There was jet black hair all over the tub. When she tried to address these issues they looked at her like she was stupid and ignorant. My company has a contract with the hotel chain and I'm very disappointed. This is not okay. On the positive, they do have a full size kitchen and also provide meals at a social hour from 5:30-7:30pm Mon-Wed. I had to live in these for the next 6 months! read more
