I recently visited Steak 48, and it's now easily one of my top three restaurants. The entire experience was exceptional. The service was top-notch, attentive and professional. The ambiance was exactly what I love. Dim, quiet, and refined, with everyone well-dressed and respectful. It felt like a place where you feel genuinely good being there. The food was very good, while it might not be the absolute best I've ever had in my life, I have nothing negative to say about it at all. The restaurant is sexy and elegant (dress nice) there is a dress code. We requested more private area so they sat us in a lovely private booth next to wine glass decor & the kitchen. We loved the privacy! Our server Audrey & server assistant Henry were AWESOME! Made us feel right at home, very attentive and great recommendations! I went already knowing what I wanted but she reassured that we were making the right decisions! Drinks: Strawberry Rhubarb (7/10), Cucumber basil, Margarita & Pornstar Martini (20/10) best pornstar martini I've had yet! We started off with the complimentary rolls which were PERFECT! For appetizers we got the Crispy shrimp deviled eggs (10/10) & the yellow tail hamachi (10/10) melts in your mouth . For our main course we ordered the 22oz Ribeye (was large enough to split) comes on a hot plate and keeps cooking it, was delish! Now the sides are really the things to steal the show, the Crème Brûlée Corn (20/10) it's soooo good I would go just for that. We also ordered the potato au gratin I was really excited for it but we ended up sending it back just because idk it wasn't my vibe felt like a potato lasanga. We got the whipped mash (10/10) instead and YUMM ! For dessert which Audrey surprised us with for our Anniversary we got the Red Velvet Banana Pudding (20/10) which I'm still not sure if there was banana pudding in it but OMG so freaking good. The ambiance is all Beverly Hills. As soon as we got there we could tell it was a step above. The decor is amazing with all these balls of light coming down. Definitely going to the bar for a quick drink the next time I'm at Needless Markups. The server could have been better. It was my Big Bday and she didn't offer the complimentary dessert. We didn't find out about that until the awesome manager, Ms. Saakian, told us about it when we were admiring the Raw Bar. She had us wait a few minutes and brought us out my bday dessert to go! " Extremely Disappointing Experience" We went to Steak 48 last night and the entire experience was far below expectations. First, they seated us in a side room where everyone around us was over 70, which felt odd and completely mismatched for our group. It already set a strange tone for the night. While the overall service structure seemed fine, our server had a noticeably bad attitude the entire time. I actually had to ask him to check in with the whole table because he didn't even bother asking half of our party what they wanted--especially for drinks with dessert. After about 5 minutes of him ignoring half the table, I had to remind him again to take their orders. Very unprofessional. On top of that, the food quality was extremely poor. All of us ended up with food poisoning afterward, which is completely unacceptable for a restaurant at this level. To make it worse, I received a call today asking about our experience. As soon as I began explaining what happened, the woman on the phone said the manager would call me back--but I never received a call. No follow-up, no accountability. I'm extremely disappointed with our experience at Steak 48. Our entire party of seven ended up with food poisoning after our dinner, and the food was so bad that most of us couldn't even finish our meals. What makes this worse is that this isn't our first bad experience here. A few years ago, we were served oysters that were clearly taken from another table half of them were just empty shells. When we brought it up, they apologized and said it was a mistake. We decided to give them another chance after 3-4 years, and this second visit was even worse. Before you make a reservation, I really recommend reading through the reviews and using the search feature to look up "food poisoning." You'll see we're not the only ones who experienced this. Had dinner there this week. I ordered my petite filet med rare. It came out on an insanely hot sizzling plate. When it arrived it was med rare.....after 5 minutes the plate cooked my steak to well done. I couldn't eat it.......I am not one to send food back to the kitchen....for paranoid reasons you might say. I prefer Mastros as I feel they have better standards and quality control. I have never had a bad steak there. Shame on them for not getting it right.....especially in regard to the prices they charge! I brought it home and my dogs were not even interested in it....which is very unusual. This was my first time eating red meat again after 10 years and i'm so so happy I came to steak 48 for that experience. Although we waited 40 minutes past our reservation to be seated, their service and accommodations made up for it. We had Paul as our server and he was amazing!! All the staff were so kind and to compensate for our wait, they gave us an appetizer and 2 delicious desserts complimentary. The steak was so flavorful and it was the best experience I could have asked for introducing red meat into my diet again. Well worth the 40 minute wait and that's saying a lot. We celebrated a birthday here, and I can highly recommend this as a special occasion restaurant. The service differentiates Steak 48 from other nice restaurants. I would imagine, at this price point, that most tables are celebrating something, but our server Nolan (and every member of the staff) made us feel very well taken care of. The food is quite good. Although we had some issues with the food and in fairness we were there right when they opened. The manager reached out to me to make it right. I was not expecting this. I was just giving an honest review. I appreciate this place still having a good customer service policy. That means everything to me in giving them another chance. To spend a meal in the beauty of this place is truly a treat. I look forward to retrying the foods here. I can't wait to eat some of their melt in your mouth scallops again or the luscious pork belly. These two foods alone are worth trying the place. Yet they have so many more items to choose from. Yum! 1/2 the food was amazing the other 1/2 I've had way better at a much less fancy restaurant for much less money. The scallops and pork belly were wonderful . The ribeye steaks were chewey and more cooked than requested. Ironically the vegetables were way under cooked. My hot Brussels and cauliflower should not have crunched as I bit in to them. We didn't say anything about many of the vegetables being undercooked or steaks cooked to much because the people I were with did not want to be looked at as a difficult customer. Sadly we brought home about 1/2 of all our foods (for a table of 4) and cooked the veggies and disposed of the steak. (Table next to us had to send their steak back to the kitchen because of an issue) here's what's funny about that, they scraped up every little crumb on our table immediately, but when they took his steak back to the kitchen they left the plate it was on with a pool of bloody liquid so that table of 4 got to look at that plate for 10 minutes while they fixed his steak. The desserts were very good, some of the best I've had. They had a nice variety and range of desserts to choose from too. So go for the experience but don't expect all the food to match the ambiance. read more

I've been to this location several times as not only the food is amazing, usually the service is too. However the quality of service has declined during my last 2-3 visits. It took about 10 min after being seated for someone to greet us and bring a menu. Our appetizers and cocktails arrived before we were served water/bread. Our server had misheard us when ordering. We ordered 3 sides and when 4 came out I politely let them know we did not order one of the sides. When they let our server know, he approached us ungraciously and repeatedly told me he never heard me say cancel that side, as if he wanted me to confirm. My last 2 visits both my friends steak and mine have been over cooked. (Usually order medium or medium well and our steaks were clearly well done upon arrival and still continue to cook MORE on the plate.) My first 5 visits here were very pleasant however throughout the last 5 there has definitely been a decrease in service and quality. I've also noticed they treat you very different according to what you look like/ how you're dressed. I have been here with several friends, family, and colleagues enough to distinctly recognize the difference in how we are treated based on appearance. There are a few servers/ bartenders that keep me coming back but as far as overall staff I would say some improvements could be made. The interior is very nice and I love the booth seating with the glass windows, that is Very good vibes and romantic. The restrooms are very clean and they are definitely elite status! Overall what you would expect from a high end steak restaurant in Be early Hills. Valet parking for $16 when you pull up. We didn't have a res, but went early enough on a Sat and there were plenty of high tops and seats in the bar area, which is really where the action/people watching is. when we sat, the server Marina was very attentive and energetic. Ordered a glass of bubbly and an espresso martini, they promptly brought us warm bread. We ordered the firecracker shrimp (there were only 2 of us and could have fed 5!) and the "lobster" caviar. Both were good and what you would expect. We ordered the special prime rib cap of the day and it was recommended we get it medium rare since the plates are served at 500 degrees so it would still cook on it. Steak was delicious (a bit too salty for me, but perfect for my partner). Ordered the hasselback potatoes (yum) and the sautéed spinach. The somelier went out of his way to bring five bottles to the table so we could see for next time. Corkage is $85, with several rules to boot. I sat in the bar solo last visit and caught the last seat available. The two gorgeous girls and nice couple surrounding me made nice conversation. We drove from Palm Springs to see the hype surrounding Steak 48. I ordered the bone-in rib eye, and it was terrific. The rest of the food was not so much. My shells and cheese were cold, and the shrimp was undercooked. My daughter found a HAIR in her Cesar salad, and the first manager just took the plate and didn't even apologize. She then removed the salad from the bill, but not the added shrimp, which didn't make sense. We went back and forth with another manager to get it removed. Starting with the manager Will, who ignored us before and during the dinner as we asked to speak with him. I had put in a call to speak to him to ask our reservation and some other questions about Steak 48. They told me to leave a vm and email which I did. He never replied once. We asked the front reception as we had some questions. When he finally came over, he could care less about us and didn't ask or check on what was happening. I asked him if he received my messages and his reply was, yes. No apology for not replying back and no energy. We were shocked from his poor attitude. I will say our server and the newest manager Nabil checked on us a couple times. Overall, it was VERY expensive so our expectations were higher with service and quality of food. The rack of lamb was good but $98. We have had it at other places at about $30 less and as good. The Chilean seabass was bland and very expensive as well. The backed potato was super salty. Overall the food was okay, I've had better steaks at a different steak house before, unfortunately the lobster tail was rubbery which means they overcooked it. Their complimentary bread was delicious and warm. I really enjoyed their desert, we got the key lime pie and the vanilla caramel cake, the key lime pie was my favorite and both deserts were a very good size to share with the table. For the food we got Calamari and some Crispy Shrimp for appetizers. The bread was so good too, we had to ask for a second serving. For the mains we got the 45 day dry age rib eye and the regular rib eye just to see the difference and they were both great! We also got the Mac and cheese, corn crème brûlée (this was really good) and my family is big on salads so we got the superfood salad which was sooooo goood! For dessert we had 3 desserts: the chocolate bombe, beignets, and the cookies and cream popcorn sundae. I loved the sundae and the bombe, but at this point we were all dealing with food coma haha On a side note.
