They started their loud leaf blowers in the dark well before 8:00, rudely waking us up, which is against our township ordinance. Their crew also blew our neighbors leaves onto our property without asking permission. Not very responsible or considerate. read more

Last fall when my backyard was torn up to replace my neighbor's sewer line that ran through my property, I had been on the hunt to find a reputable landscaper who would restore my yard so that it could grow grass again. After an extensive search I signed a contract last fall with Steel City Landscaping. I was impressed when they came out at that time. They gave me a thorough explanation of what needed to be done and provided me a detailed quote. My original hope was to see it done in the spring but with the arrival of the pandemic I couldn't see it happening. I received a call yesterday that they would be willing to come out today to do the yard. I was excited and was glad that they arrived within the desired time frames and with all that was necessary to complete the job. I met with Sean the overseer of the project, and he provided me with two men to do the work. The project involved leveling off the debris from the landfill, applying topsoil, sowing new grass seed, applying fertilizer, and then covering it with mushroom manure. Throughout the install I spoke off and on with James (one of the installers) who explained to me that it would be in our best interest to totally "level out" most of my backyard and cover it completely in order to achieve a more balanced look. He and his co worker went above and beyond to work in areas nearby to clean out moss and anything else that would stand in the way of my new grass. Since the project involved an area of at 28 x 20 feet it took about 6 hours to complete the work. Nevertheless they did a thorough job of cleaning up and making sure no damage was done to neighboring properties with their tools and materials. When finished they gave my new lawn a good watering and instructed me on proper care. I was also told that if I ran into any problems to give them a call. They accept all forms of payments but please note that there is a credit card processing fee if you choose to go that route. Make sure to review your contract if you have any concerns. I'm so thankful they came out since this is a good time to grow new grass and hopefully I will see sprouts within a few weeks. It is a very reputable company and I plan on using their services again in the future to discuss another project. read more

Very poor quality work in our neighborhood. Lots of crabgrass and weeds, very little grass growing. There is no quality soil laid down prior to seeding, so many rocks left behind and the soil underneath the mulch in the beds is hard and needs to be replaced if you would like to plant any flowers. read more

I had them put in a wall for me very unprofessional no one communicated with each other three different Crews coming each different day no one on the same page the quote that they gave me was unrealistic they recommended it be 3 days it took them 5 when asked about the progress very unprofessional and rude. Outrageously expensive! We were quoted a price of $114 per hour, and the work took 3 hours. Instead of receiving a bill for $342, we were billed almost $650. This is a residence, not a business! Apparently, they used a crew of 3 men @ $171 per hour, plus a hauling fee of $93.75. We were shocked. We're only planning on paying the $342, and may have to leave the rest up to the magistrate. read more

Steel City Landscaping did an excellent job on retaining walls around our driveway and backyard, a few years ago. They worked very hard and were professional and detailed with the whole project. The walls look beautiful! This year, we needed some work done regrading our front lawn and planting a tree. Steel City did that work and again, the results were great. Not only did they come in and reseed and top dress our entire lawn, they also took the time to advise us on how to properly care for it. In addition, they replanted and brought back to life the dead bushes the builder had just thrown into our front yard by putting in better top soil and mulch. It was apparent that it wasn't just a job to them; they cared about the longevity of their work and took pride in the end result. We had new retaining walls built alongside our driveway. When the estimator came out he gave us a replacement price that we agreed upon. Two months later when the job was started I mentioned to the worker that the drainage pipe behind the wall was not doing a good job draining out the water. They said that they replace them. Nothing else was ever mentioned about it. I also paid half of the estimate price that day on my credit card for them to get started. After the wall was complete and I received my invoice there was an additional charge of $365 for fixing my downspout. When I called to dispute this charge I was told that they had to do all of this work on my downspout which was never mentioned to me nor was I informed that this would be an additional charge. They basically put a PVC pipe on my downspout which I could've done for the price of the PVC. While I was discussing this with the office I was f***ed one side and down the other and basically treated as if I was a deadbeat who would't pay my bill. I was more than willing to pay the bill I was aware of. I even had an addendum to my bill that I had approved for extra work and they still never told me about this "downspout problem" Once the charge was disputed they tried to add a 3% charge to my use of the credit card which was not added to my last transaction or ever mentioned before. This company was extremely un-professional and did damage to not just my yard but my neighbors yard that my husband and I had to fix after the fact. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING - THEY WILL MAKE UP CHARGES AND THEN SWEAR AT YOU WHEN YOU CALL THEM ON IT!!!!!!!!! read more
