Volleyball tournament at Eastern U but decided to stay in Spokane @The Louie (check out that review too) for the weekend AND IT'S RESTAURANT WEEK, YAY US!!! Note: this may not be a long review because I put off writing this review. In short food and service is spot on. GO AND TRY! Make sure you go during happy hour so you can try a bunch of food and if you're not full yet order dinner, LOL We walk in on a Friday night not knowing restaurant week was happening and decided to walk over early since we're meeting up with friends...so happy hour just started too! Now we got SPOILED because we're looking at three different menus: happy hour, restaurant week and their everyday menu. Each had something we wanted to try so let the ordering / food fest begin! Street corn ribs, Brussels chip = super light, pokè tostada, steelhead chowder (not pictured), halibut, sea bass...many cocktails since we walked and dessert. You must get the Brussels chips! So simple but SO good! They're $5 during Social Hour which runs 2-7pm daily. For entrees we enjoyed the cilantro-lime shrimp and halibut fish & chips. The cornflake breading would be perfect for those who prefer something other than beer battered. There's also a new cocktail menu with more rolling out soon. The new GM, jay, is awesome. Vegetarians have difficult time here except for carb heavy foods. But really enjoyed the Brussel sprouts chips salad. One of the best salad ideas and very flavorful and savory. The Pinot Noir was excellent and had great depth on the nose and palate while still light in color. Wife and kids loved the food as well. The ribeye was medium well and my wife say it was still soft. The kids menu was large enough for my kids for feel full as well and I took some of their fries which was actually very well seasoned. Y'ALL. If you haven't been here, you are SLEEPING on this place. I came for dinner and got the steak bites and fries, and my fiance got the chicken tacos. The steak bites were absolute perfection, cooked in the perfect sauce and omg the FRIES.... Shoestring perfection, chefs kiss all around. It was salty and crispy and perfectly seasoned. Best fries in down hands down. My Fiance's chicken tacos were amazing (I mean look at the picture??, they're stunning). The service was great, our server was nice and attentive and very fast. We stopped by before the Vision Quest screening so it was a great spot to get dinner. Super chill vibes, could be date night or just meeting up with friends. Sat at the Bar. Good service, but the French dip with the crispy onions was soggy and inside of the sandwich and I opted for a side salad instead of fries and the salad was warm and limp. I visited steelhead for the first time since before Covid last weekend and it didn't disappoint. It had familiar menus items and overall they were pretty good. The interior of the restaurant also hadn't changed a bit from what I could remember. The service was good. Nothing over the top - they were attentive enough, but not too much so. As for the food, I started with the pork burnt ends. They were much drier than I was hoping. It was essentially jerky, but they were in happy hour so not bad for the price. For my entree I got the steelhead burger and it was flavorful and cooked the way I liked it. I got it with the salt and vinegar fries on the side and loved them! One of my kids got steak medallions and fries and liked them fine. Although, it comes with very little steak (it's also only like $10) and my other kiddo got Mac and cheese with fries. This was a little more sad - it was definitely old Kraft Mac n cheese. It looked dry, sad, and cheap. All in all it was a good visit. I'm not in a rush to go back, but I also wouldn't be opposed if I was downtown and looking for a meal. read more

Went for dinner on a Saturday afternoon, place was about half full, wait staff not very busy. After being seated nobody even asked about a drink order, we just sat there. After about 7 min of watching staff walk by us, we left. I guess they didn't need our business. read more

Why, the one star away... We were told to sit anywhere and waited a good 25 minutes before we even got a menu. Then after our server took our drink order, we didn't see her for another 30 minutes, even with our drinks. It was 4 o'clock, so there wasn't a big crowd yet. Finally, an hour later, we put our order in. When she brought it out, she dropped my trout on the floor smh. I was embarrassed for her. She also forgot our fish and chips had three fish, not two. It was a rough night for her and our meal. She did bring us our fish and chips, but it was another hour later, and we were ready to go. I had to find her to pay our bill because we had to leave the Babysitter on a timer. I wish we could've had a better server experience because the food was terrific. Pretty good fish and chips, a little bit salty, but I think that's how they're supposed to be. Steelhead trout. Amazing, but yes, that's what they are known for if it doesn't fall on the floor, of course. lol read more

Great service, food and atmosphere. We went on a Thursday evening and it was pretty empty. We started with a couple happy hour cocktails that were built quite nicely and were a good deal, to boot! I had the 4oz fillet with Steelhead Chowder with a Cesar salad. The chimmychurry was potent and delicious. The filet was prepared perfectly with a nice crust and a perfect med rare. The chowder was amazing and the salad was good (only "good" because I am a proponent of a true Cesar with yolk and anchovy and this was an itiian-style, oil and vinegar dressing). My partner loved the Creole Shrimp entree. The cajun cream sauce was packed with shrimpy-spicy goodness and the shrimp were perfectly cooked and tender. Also, NO TAILS ON THE SHRIMP!! I wish more restaurants would embrace that practice. 100% will be back to try the rest of the menu. Cheers, Steelhead crew! read more

Just about every time we visit Spokane, we make a point to pop into Steelhead Bar and Grille. I believe this was our 4th visit since we first stumbled upon Steelhead in 2016. We liked the place then, we like it still. Located downtown, Steelhead was an easy walk from our apartment we had rented. That was a plus! This year we stopped in a Sunday. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that all-day Sunday happy hour is stIll a thing at Steelhead! Sunday HH survived COVID! We had plans for later in the day so it was just one and done this time. Sadly no food for us. We posted up to the bar and met Daniel our barkeep. As per usual of just about every local we encountered in Spokane, Daniel was super nice and polite. Sunday HH did not disappoint. $4 pint of Kokanee and $4.50 for Becky's Vizzy Orange Cream seltzer. The Kokanee did taste a little funky. Perhaps a tad passed its prime or maybe an off keg. I would've had another though if we had the time. Wish we could've stayed longer. Next time. read more

I woke up thinking about the best steak I've ever had. And that led me this review--- I have to add a review for Steelhead B&G. The peppercorn steak & steak sauce will be remembered by me until I die... After the crazy wind storm that blew down all the trees on the south hill back in 2015 - I'm talking about the big wind storm, blowing down huge trees on the houses on the south hill, and the following power outages that lasted 2 weeks for us living by Manito park. All the power lines were down and getting them repaired in peoples backyards was extra tough so it took a while, put a damper on the Thanksgiving plans for sure. If I remember correctly we had warmer weather at the time of the storm and a day or two later it all got cold and froze everything. No power and no heat was a problem. Finally it got fixed 15 days later. The one thing that helped me survive were the Steelhead bar and grills peppercorn sauce and ribeye steak. I was kinda broke, but i saved my money for food a couple of days and just went and ate that and whatever was the cheapest drink. The bar tender totally understood and helped me with some mashed potatoes and extra sauce. I would have not have made it through without this! Charged all my devices and the went home at 4 PM when it was getting dark. Every huge tree in our yard fell over 2 of them hit our neighbors - another landed on my garage and truck and 2 others fell forward blocking the street, so getting out of the neighborhood was hard and my truck had a cracked windshield. Lucky we'd go to the small dive bar and see this great group of locals (this amazing old guy named Van who always said, "hey Darlin") - and the community helped us survive - I have lived in many other places and no other place, or neighborhood ever showed that kind of support and "goodwill". If we'd talked or communicated about things in normal times we'd probably have had lots of things to disagree about, but none of that matters when you're hungry and in a tough situation. And I think says a lot about who and what we are as humans. Our love and compassion outweighs our hate and violence tenfold. At the end we will only have each other. And man that steak and that amazing peppercorn sauce are something I'll never forget. #steelhead Bar & Grill - I'm do glad you still exist and I'll be back to visit again in there another couple years. This place was amazing. I was walking around downtown area and just looking at menus and trying to pick a place for my large group. Scottty came out and asked me if I was interested in trying it out. I said I have a lot of people and weren't sure where we were eating tonight. He was like just call an ahead and we will get you in. I wasn't sure how many people we had but we ended up showing up with 15 and he still got us sat and service was great. I had the their French dip sandwich but it had a fancy name and the Brussel sprouts. Everything was amazing. I also had the old fashion which was good not great but for $12 was worth the price. I was responsible for picking the place for all these people to eat at and everything went above expectations. I will return to this place when ever in the area. I have walked by the Steelhead Bar and Grille many times and I finally when in for dinner and a cocktail. I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and decor immediately upon entering. I guess you would call it cool. For an appetizer we had the BLEU CHEESE FRIES which were excellent. They could have been a little warmer. I had the pepper whiskey rib eye which I enjoyed. My dinner partner had the steelhead fillet which he equally enjoyed. I will go back and I do recommend it. read more
