As usual Casa Capri was amazing! Our entire family met for dinner on Father's Day. The food was amazing. I had chicken cacciatore and it was delicious tasting. Went in for dinner around the holidays. Ordered a plate with multiple types of pasta so we could try a variety. The gnocchi was not edible - it tasted like raw lumps of flour. The stuffed shells were watery with no flavor. The ravioli was limp and soaking wet. The only edible bite of food was the lasagna. I left 3/4 of the plate of food, uneaten, and the server never asked why. We were just not impressed. Will try it again in the hopes that that was just an off night but hopefully this review reminds you that you can do better. read more

Went to a dinner party here. Their pizza is pretty good. It had a lot of flavor. I had the meatballs and mostaccioli. The noodles and sauce were good, but the meatballs were dense, rubbery and no flavor. Also had Italian sausage and potatoes. The Italian sausage was tough and salty. For the high prices they charge for it, I think it wasn't worth going there. I've had better meatballs and sausage at other Italian restaurants in Kenosha. read more

Stella's has one of the best pizzas in southern Wisconsin. The crust, sauce, cheeses, and that wonderful sausage are enough to make me drive there from Grafton (@70 miles)- yep it is that good! Casa Capri has been consistently great for over 50 years when I lived in Kenosha. There are so many places in Kenosha to get a good pizza, but Stella's makes a great pizza. It is a true mom and pop operation that excels at pizza. I would write about other entrees, but I can't because I have never ordered anything but pizza. read more

I ordered the grilled salmon pasta Verde, but I substituted for veal. The waitress was helfpul and asked thr chef. They asked how I wanted the veal cooked. I asked for it to be made the way the chef recommended. It was amazing! Mom had the fish fry. I love the ambiance at the bar. The wine pour is the best around. While in town, my sisters and I stopped in for an impromptu dinner around 5:30. It was a Saturday night during Restaurant Week so it was busy. The hostess said there was a 2 hour wait. We were creating a plan B and decided to sit at a table in the bar and it was perfect! The bar was bustling and it was great for people watching. The big table next to us looked like they were having a great time too. Our bartender/server Jamie was fantastic!! She was so friendly, helpful and attentive, even though she was quite busy. She really made our visit even better. Our cocktails were expertly created. Dinners come with soup AND salad. We ordered pizza, chicken parmesan and the pasta sampler. Such a cool idea to try several pastas in one order. Everything was so tasty. We were way too full for dessert. The bar atmosphere and service are my favorite. I prefer to dine there now. It feels old school and comfortable. I love feeling the history behind a restaurant, knowing the dedication it took to make this a Kenosha staple. read more

Being Kenosha, remembering the Italian authentic businesses, I had high expectations. Arrived at 4 o'clock when they open and the hostess was less than welcoming when she asked if we had a reservation we did not. There are three table for twos at the front and small spaces for those of us who didn't know a reservation was required, not large enough for bigger people. Didn't know there was a fish fry special or I would've tried it ordered the whitefish which was underwhelming as well as the potatoes and vegetables, unsure if the potatoes are fresh or canned? Not much flavor seasonings, being Italian myself, I expected, at least authentic Italian bread in the Kenosha area. The bread was something like a cafeteria in my opinion soft and airy Bolognese was a large portion with lots of meat and my dining companion enjoyed it. Bloody Mary was nice and zesty and Service was efficient and friendly walking in. It took me back in time to the 80s growing up in supper clubs. Warm and friendly atmosphere with a nice bar. Looks like a lot of regulars, frequent here which is refreshing. The salad is iceberg lettuce which I haven't seen in many years but the chicken soup was pretty flavorful and tasty and nice and hot! read more

Heard about Casa Capri from a friend and decided to drive up from Chicago. It was worth the trip. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly waitress who set the tone for all of the staff that evening - friendly, helpful, and genuinely warm. We ordered Alfredo with various add-ons - broccoli and mushrooms for me, shrimp and broccoli for my friend. We both really enjoyed our meals and had plenty to take back with us. While I cannot vouch for any of the other menu items, we were happy with everything from our salads and bread to our pasta dishes. More importantly, the service was excellent. $30-50 per plate, unkept diner, but decent enough service. Driving in is not ideal, as the staff blocks the back way in. Walking in there were tables blocking half the entrance way. Waited for the greeter, than walked past the frayed tablecloths and damaged walls. Staff was friendly and did a fine enough job, but the food was packaged crackers, a mini cup of unappealing soup, a tiny side salad that wasn't much, and a main dish that was over seasoned (salty) and not worth half of what it cost. We won't be back. It would have been a 3 star experience, but the overpriced menu makes it 2 stars. It was a shame because, again, the staff wasn't terrible, but they are selling overpriced meals and the owners and chefs clearly aren't doing their part. read more

The food wasn't bad but I wouldn't say I was blown away, I got a pasta dinner and garlic bread and a mixed drink, it was just alright. Was surprised at the lack of ambiance in the back half of the restaurant, but that's not always important to everyone. The front end near the bar had more ambiance and better lighting and was not where we were seated for our meal. We had a lovely view of paneled ceilings and the back wall. We were collectively horrified by the harmful treatment of all staff: the two waitresses and owner. I was with my nephew and his wife who have frequented this restaurant on many occasions. At least five times he ordered the "King" filet mignon. In my 60 years i have ordered filers too many times to recount. What they brought to us was no larger than an 8 ounce. When i brought it up to our waitress she snapped at me and insisted that it was the 12 ounce. Then she said the steaks are determined by length and depth. I tried to reason with her by insisting that in my whole life, no restaurant justified the size of their steaks by this metric. At standstill, i recommended she weigh the steak. If it was 10 ounces (2 ounces less because of the o25% standard for loss of weight for cooking), i would concede my position. She refused. I then asked to speak to a manager. Instead she sent over another waitress. I said more or less the same thing in a calm but stern voice. She also snapped at me and repeated the same "length and depth" response. Frustrated, i asked her to take the steak bad to weigh it. She responded accused me of being inappropriately angry, grabbed the dish, and walked away. Then the owner/cook came out and asked "what was the problem?" I went through the same questions and explanations. When i calmly asked - now three times - to settle the matter by weighing it, he said the steak will be removed from the bill and angrily and abruptly walked away. We left with my nephew not getting his meal. We left the restaurant feeling bullied. The bottom line was they tried to gaslight us into believing we were the problem while holding onto to the above mentioned ridiculous, manipulative and dishonest position regarding the steak. Went 10/31 never been, had heard some good reviews and not so good. Just the husband and I went for an early dinner.. service was great every single person was friendly and upbeat! Had a mixed drink and it was perfect! I ordered Pasta , it came with soup and salad as did my husbands prime rib. The soup was french onion... i tell ya I have had many french onion soups and this on was excellent the best I have had in all my travels! The pasta dish was out of this world! It had amazing flavor and portion was huge. My only issue was the salad kinda wilted.we will def be back for more of the amazing food , ohh the prime well it was an amazingly huge cut! I really want to like this place because it's close to Home. But it is way overpriced for the quality of the food. Specifically, I ordered chicken parm and I received a loaf of ground chicken disguised as chicken breast. Now the menu says "chicken breast" and I suppose technically one could argue that it is ground chicken breast and therefore not false advertising. But we all know chicken parm should be a piece of chicken breast pounded, breaded, fried and then covered in sauce and cheese. It's not hard. So i paid $22 for a processed chicken patty topped with cheese and sauce. Gross you guys. I haven't had chicken parm since we moved here from NY 3 years ago and THIS IS WHY! Everyone is always talking about how kenosha is "SO ITALIAN". No. It is midwest italian. And it's gross. With that said, the mozzarella marinara was delicious. Well I would have to say the food was crap. I ordered the veal Parmesan what a joke. The plate was hot like it just came out of the microwave. Samosa totally noodles or have cold reveal was so mushy it was crap and the plate had at least 3 ounces of water on it I poured the water and another plate the waitress had the audacity to say it was a marinara sauce that's how it is there. I had two bites of it it was all mush the kid comes by I said take it to the waitress and the chef and show them.he threw it away. Without showing anyone. We placed our pizza order and low and behold we waited 1 and 1/2 hours for a pizza ??? WTH ?? The waitress was kind and apologized and said, "your drink will be on the house." Came here for their valentines day special and made a reservation a few days in advance. I'm glad I called ahead because the time we got here - it was packed! They had it nicely decorated for valentines day- even had a live band playing. The meals came with soup and salad which is always nice when the meals take a little longer to get here than most places. I ordered something from the specials - tour of Italy so I could sample a few different items on the menu. The plate alone weighed about 5lbs and I will have enough food for a few days. The fettucini Alfredo was very rich and creamy. The manicotti had a rich and delicious ricotta and spinach filling and the chicken Parmesan was crunchy and full of melted cheese. My one complaint was all 3 items were different temperatures - it was obvious which one we were waiting on. They are always on Restaurant.com so use a coupon when you come in. Tried to get in last Friday but they had a 45 minute wait and with a 2 year old, not happening lol! I always said if you see a lot of "elderly" people at a restaurant you know it's good, and this place was packed! So we tried again last night. This is the second time we have dined here and we love this spot! It's small, cozy, and has such a great atmosphere. You truly feel like family. The bartender (Gene) was so friendly, was on top of our drinks and took very good care of us. My boyfriend had the Chicken Parmigiana which he finished his entire plate and said "That was great, I really like this place!"! I had the Stuffed Rigatoni which is the house special and it was absolutely delicious! Jumbo rigatoni stuffed with meatballs and cheese, can't go wrong with that! Both meals came with homemade soup AND salad. Pretty rare to get both, or either, nowadays at any restaurants. There is truly nothing better than delicious, homemade, Italian food!!! Casa always has pretty good food. I will make a suggestion. Do not use a coupon or go for any kind of two-for-one specials. I firmly believe if you order in any of those situations they give you less food. It's unfortunate, most restaurants, especially Italian restaurants, do not do that. It was a little on the pricey side. But then it comes down to what you order and how much you plan on eating. But after all that said and done the portions were adequate for the price and the service was on point. It was a little dark in main sitting area but I think that has to add to the effect of it being romantic. The food was very well presented and tasted amazing!!!!!!
