This man is a legend with his clippers and never have I walked out with something didn't look good ! For a small price of £6.50 you can't complain for a gents cut ! Quick and efficient! The decor is old and dated now but your not here for a dinner date . Your here to get ready for one ! Best barbers around IMHO due to the fact they don't scrape your head with clippers and catch the top of your ears ! Also a nice finish with a real cut - throat razor for that ultimate finish and make you look the king ! Traditional barbers with smooth fm on or absolute radio depends who is working but very good !

They also won't try to trick you into getting more done than you want done, like some hair salons do. When I frequented this place, about a year ago, a men's dry cut was about £6, and a women's dry cut about £8. You won't get much better than that. I challenge you! The staff are friendly, and although super chatty (which kind of annoys me at times) they always have a bit of gossip to listen in on.

However, in Barberella, we have none of these things. Nicky/Nikki (I'm not sure which) is a wonderful hair snipper and with chat to you about mad films she's been watching, actually useful tips about looking after your hair and she's completely at ease when laughing at my crap jokes and anecdotes. In a quiet moment, the silence is covered with some seriously good music tootling out of her stereo (Betty Davis, Nick Cave, '60s psych, rare funk... she's got the lot) and walls covered in ace pop-cultural trinkets. I like looking at the wall of Top of the Pops LP sleeves from the '70s. What I like most about my visits there are that she understands what you mean when you say "I want my hair like [Insert Obscure Celebrity Here]" or if you wanted 'a rockabilly haircut'. She'll help you out no end and has some cool products to keep your bonce looking ace (it's where I buy my pomade from). In short, after messing about with various hairdressers over the years, Barberella is the one I'm sticking with for life now. The price is always good too. Find her at the back of Pop Boutique.
