Both studios in Nanaimo are quite nice. They offer mostly Moksha (hot) yoga as well as Yin…read more(relaxation/restorative yoga), Nidra, flow etc. Other offerings include workshops, special events, and guest speakers. I find the studios to be fairly clean and well appointed. Sometimes the classes are very busy and I wish they wouldn't allow so many people in because it is unpleasant to have sweat dripping on to you from people whose mat is less than an inch away. The price for drop in is high ($17.85) and if you can afford it & go often, the monthly unlimited at $100/month is better. Most instructors are very talented. A few of them I find seem to really like the sound of their own voice and talk through the entire class which can be very distracting. Overall this is a good studio and I have been attending here since 2015.

The online system charged my card three times, and I had to call to get registered and have two duplicate charges reversed. On the day of the event, I arrived for the 7:00 PM Sound Bath, only to find the doors locked. Another customer told me it had been cancelled earlier that day. Nobody from Modo called, emailed, or sent any notification. My $35 was eventually refunded, but I received no apology or explanation. I emailed the studio myself to ask why nobody had contacted me, but I still received no response. I understand that events sometimes need to be cancelled. My complaint is the lack of communication and customer care. If customers are expected to give 24 hours' notice when cancelling, it's reasonable to expect the studio to notify paying customers when they cancel an event. A refund corrects the financial transaction, but it doesn't replace an apology or respectful communication. For a business centred around wellness, I expected much better from my first experience.

I bought the three hour package, which begins in the hot tub overlooking snow capped mountains and tranquil harbor. Then on to Lomi Lomi, which I'd never heard of before. To say this is a massage doesn't convey the service. Dhyana is a healer of the truest form. If you are open to her gift your session can be life changing. She starts with singing and prayer, beautiful melodies that roll through your heart and break away any blocked energy. All the while she is performing massage, which is very relaxing. Now that's its been a week since my service, I've noticed that I feel 'lighter', like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I experience more joy and compassion, and seeing more of it returned to me. It's truly magical. I would recommend this experience to anyone who suspects they are missing something from life.
