In that Dr Christianson only does the implant and not the crown, which requires special abutments many dentists don't do, you are better off going to someone who does both. Girls in the office are rude beyond belief. They also don't know how to handle anyone with fear of the dentist. Girls in the office don't know how to fill out certain paperwork and then anything they don't know how to do they become passive aggressive with you. Peep google reviews too cause all say surgeon is great but office girls are awful. I ended up calling to cancel my appointment for the surgery today and the manager answered, when I laid the entire story on her she apologized and just laughed awkwardly. I think she had NO clue how to handle what was put on her plate because my experience was that horrific. read more

What a pleasure it is to have found an oral surgeon for whom I can give 5 stars. The office is very professional, friendly and competent. Not only did Dr Christiansen do what seemed to me to be a great job, but he took the time to follow up later to call me at home the same evening to see how I was getting along! That's not something any doctor has ever done for me. I was impressed. Further, his office staff went to bat for me with another pharmacy when CVS refused the Rx for pain medication on a completely false claim about the date on which Rxs must be submitted electronically. I have had major fear of dentists due to childhood experience. Dr. Christiansen was professional, clear, kind and thorough. No pain during extractions, very little after. I was referred to Dr. Christiansen because I needed two teeth extracted that my dentist considered too fraught with risk for him to feel comfortable to do in his office. I've had difficult extractions before (root tips hooking together at the tips), and it was a miserable experience, taking what felt like over an hour to get all the fractured pieces out. Dr. Christiansen is a superior Oral Surgeon, with mad skills. The whole thing took twenty minutes, with no discomfort at all. Amazing! read more

I hate going to the dentist due to a combination of having a mean dentist when I was younger (she called me stupid) and having a HORRIBLE experience with a dentist I saw recently. I found a new dentist I like, but he felt I should go to an oral surgeon to have my extractions done, as I have some chronic health issues and a surgeon would be better equipped to monitor me and handle any emergencies. He referred me to Dr. Christiansen at West Mesa. They are certainly not hurting for patients; the waiting room is usually packed, and it does take some time to get in for an initial consult. However, when I told him at my consult that I was in such severe pain that I couldn't even sleep at night, he told the receptionist to make sure she squeezed me in quickly so I would get some relief. He also made sure I had pain medicine to get me through the weekend (my consult was on Friday, and my surgery was scheduled for Tuesday). The only issue I had during the procedure was getting the IV started, but I am used to that. I have deep veins, and everyone who tries to stick me has a hard time. Once they got the IV in, they put the mask over my face, and the next thing I knew I was walking down the hall to sit and recover for a few minutes. My appt. was at 8:30, and I was home in bed by 10:00. Miraculously, I have had NO PAIN at all. My eye socket was a little sore afterward, but that could be because the tooth root was very deep. The extraction site itself has not bothered me at all. I think Dr. Christiansen is great and will continue to go to him any time I have a need for an oral surgeon. His staff members are also friendly and helpful, which is a major plus. I've had a few doctors I liked but had to stop seeing because their staff acted like they'd rather step on your face than look at you. It doesn't matter how good the doctor/dentist is if the schedulers and assistants and nurses treat you like dirt. read more

Ok who actually likes going to the dentist?? Ok ok I know there are a few of you out there that do although I just don't understand but to each it's own. I've had "issues" with dentists all my life and through out my adult life I've searched for that one dentist who actually cared for people with "issues" about dental work. I've found most to have the "oh grow up" attitude. Is it a must to have a cold heart in order to become a dentist?. It makes me ponder.... Dr. Christiansen is one of the gems in the dental world. I experience anxiety when having to visit and Dr. Christansen and his staff were so caring and understood my fear and made me feel comfortable (or as comfortable one can be about a dental visit) I was in and bada boom bada Bing I'm done. They eased my anxiety and didn't make me feel "childish" about my phobia. Yes I will, with heels dug in, go back when needed. He specializes in oral surgery and is very good at it. Staff was friendly, office clean, welcoming and calming. Thank you Dr. Christiansen for understanding us who may suffer from dentist anxiety. read more

I was referred to this dentist from my usual dentist so I can get my wisdom teeth extraction done. I had to wait 4 months for a consultation appointment, than another 3 months for the actual extraction appointment, so they have plenty of patients to handle. But staff is very friendly, they do reminder phone calls and leave messages if you can't answer. I didn't particularly care for the attitude from the dentist himself, but I just pretty much shrug it off. My surgery was quick, and hopefully done right. I have as minimal pain as I could imagine from a procedure like this. I have one more follow up appointment and than I will go back to my usual dentist. I do recommend this place for getting your teeth worked on. It's professional, small, informative if you have any questions they make you feel comfortable to ask. I'm glad I got my surgery done here, but hopefully it will be my last surgery as none of us ever want to go through this read more
