I relied heavily on these online reviews when i chose Scott, and when things went terribly wrong…read morewith him i wondered how this many had such good reviews? I soon learned that he offers disgruntled clients a refund ONLY if they sign a contract stating they will post nothing negative about him, anywhere. Wedding planning was so fun and easy, except when it came to dealing with Scott. He cancelled on 3 out of 5 total appointments. He belittled me and my husband. He was clearly offended when I chose not to use him as my wedding planner in addition to already being my officiant, and he took it out on my husband and I. The months prior to my wedding were miserable. He was rude, big-headed, unreliable, and clearly only in this for the money. He refused to get along with my other vendors and I can still recall the day that my coordinator called me in tears because of what he had said to her, for "stealing his business," I could not believe I was forced to work with this man. The week before my wedding he informed me he could no longer make it to my rehearsal. I had already been incredibly upset to be working with him for weeks and that was the last straw. Biting the bullet and paying another person to marry us was the best decision i made, and I wish i'd done it sooner. I got married in August 2017. I want to warn other brides before they make the same mistake I did and are stuck dealing with this man.

He seemed to really care about his couples, he offered premarital counseling/discovery, and just seemed like an all around great guy. Unfortunately, we couldn't have been more wrong. We booked Rev. Scott a year and a half before our wedding. We had all of our pre-wedding meetings, discovery courses, and ceremony plans set up over the course of the time before our wedding. I got an email, not even a phone call, an email saying he had to cancel due to medical issues 12 days before our wedding. His email read "I have 2 dueling health issues that are affecting coverage for all of my clients and weddings in the next 30-60 days". I understand things happen and people can get sick, but when a friend emailed him about officiating a wedding a few days before ours, he was suddenly healed and available. When confronted about having to cancel our wedding but being able to preform one the same week, he simply answered with a bible verse and never addressed the issue. Upon talking to our venue and trying to find a new officiant, we learned of many other stories like ours where he cancelled last minute and even booked 2 weddings in one night then back out of one the day before because it was "too much". I want other people to learn who he really is so others don't have the same problems we did. You cannot trust this man, he is a liar. DO NOT BOOK HIM.

Colleen did an amazing job officiating our wedding. She made us feel extremely comfortable and…read morereally got to know us so she was able to write and perform a perfect wedding ceremony. The ceremony was exactly what we wanted, and included our own words and words of our friends. She gave us a number of drafts so we were able to work with her until it was just how we wanted it. We were nervous about selecting someone we didn't know to officiate our wedding but it turned out amazing. All of our guests loved how personal she made it. I would definitely recommend her to others. It was the highlight of the night!

    Your Wedding by Jen

I have really mixed feelings about this review because I'm not sure that the poor quality of…read moreservice is usually what Jen provides. She definitely seems like a nice enough person and our design aesthetic seemed like a good match. Still, we booked her for day of coordination a year out from our May wedding. Meanwhile, she planned and executed a wedding show of sorts the weekend before our wedding, so needless to say, she put that ahead of our wedding planning needs and maybe that's why we received the level of professionalism and service we did. I will say that Jen was responsive via email, though she often didn't save or remember emails we had exchanged. Otherwise, communication via phone or in person was a bit awkward and Jen seems to be a bit reserved and shy, not the take charge person I was expecting in a planner. Early on, I hired her, at her suggestion, to make a flowered belt for my engagement photos. As our photo date got closer, I reached out to ask about the belt and she laughed it off, saying that she'd messed up the dates and wouldn't be able to get it to me in time, but that she'd send it on for free since she messed up. I never received the flowered belt. Maybe that should have been my first warning... So really, my review boils down to 3 major things: 1) after not hearing from her until the week before our wedding, I went ahead and created our own timeline which I then had to email to her 2 separate times, but she still didn't send out the "official" timeline (which was just the one I had created but in her template, but with my name spelled wrong throughout) until after midnight, the night before the rehearsal dinner. 2) we really only wanted Jen there for day of coordination to cue our recessional music (which started playing after we were already down the aisle and our wedding party had started down), and to handle any hiccups that day (the table numbers had to be rearranged that morning, and the parents of the groom were put in the very back of our reception tent). Also, the "professional assistant" she offered in her contract was her 14 year old daughter, which I wouldn't have minded at all about if she'd been more upfront about it. She also states in her contract that she will attend the rehearsal and be there on the wedding day from the start until the last guest leaves. She actually asked me if she needed to come to the rehearsal dinner, and when I insisted, she was more of a spectator, but did offer a helpful hint here and there. On our wedding day, she was there fairly early, but she left well before the end of the wedding, asking me twice if it was okay if she left yet, and while working the reception, I asked her to make sure guests were using the photo booth, and she told me, "Well, I think they're going in there on their own." Her heart just didn't seem to be in it. 3) I LOVED my wedding. It was an amazing, incredible day and the love and care me and my family and friends put into it was truly astounding. That said, the design and details of our wedding had absolutely nothing to do with Jen. I appreciate that our wedding was awesome and that Jen would want to use it to promote her business, but without asking or noting that she did not help with the design of our wedding, she downloaded a LARGE amount of photos from our wedding (pinwheels, chalkboards, bathtubs and all) and posted them to her facebook page and website. When we contacted her and mentioned that it was slightly upsetting to see her taking credit for the HOURS and HOURS of work put in by us and our families, she sent back a clipped portion of the contract that stated she was allowed to use photos for self-promotion. Nevermind that she herself had violated several terms of that same contract, such as making regular check-ins with myself and my fiance and creating the timeline and sending it out 2 weeks before the big day. After we noted our disappointment, she did promise to remove most of the photos and label the remaining ones as day-of coordination only, but that was a month ago, and it still hasn't happened on her website. I will say that Jen's prices were much less than other, more established planners we interviewed, so maybe shame on us for getting what we paid for. Again, she seems like a nice enough person, but I still can't wrap my head around some of the decisions she made in her dealings with us, except to think that our treatment was out of the ordinary. Otherwise, I really have no idea how she's stayed in business.

Greg is exactly the kind of person you want to be part of your big day. I booked him about a year out from our wedding, so make sure to plan ahead when you're booking with DJ Butlers! We had a timeline run-through meeting about a month out from the big day, where we also discussed what songs we liked/didn't like for different parts of the reception. My husband is a very big music guy, and Greg really impressed him with some of his recommendations and industry knowledge. We had a live band playing during the ceremony and cocktail hour, but Greg still made sure to arrive a few hours before the ceremony to ensure everything was set up and ready to go -- and even to provide a microphone for our minister. During the reception, not only was Greg rocking it with the tunes -- but he also made sure to check in with my husband and me periodically to see if we needed another drink, or anything else. Greg also really knows how to work a crowd -- with a careful balance between staying on schedule and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. We truly believe Greg was a perfect addition to our team of vendors -- and he really was so much more than a DJ. We cannot recommend him enough -- and can't thank him enough for all of the hard work and attention to detail he put into our special day.

The owner Fred Caldwell was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly with our first phone call! He gave us his whole rundown of what to expect and what they do. I usually have several questions to ask for clarification or minor detail questions, but he literally covered every single thing I would have wanted to ask and even answered things that I didn't even know to ask! He assigned Jemal Potter to be our DJ, and Jemal was INCREDIBLE! I 100% believe I got the best Dj they offer! He kept it exciting and lively the whole time! He was hilarious, extremely friendly and attentive! If we asked for anything he would do it immediately with pleasure! Everyone still, 2 weeks later, tells me how amazing he was! If we have any future events I WILL be hiring him again! He's stuck with us! So, thank you DJ Butlers, Fred, and of course Jemal for being our entertainment for our wedding day! We cannot say enough about you!!
