At my Uncles funeral in Georgia a few months ago - they misspelled my uncles name and we pallbearers received no instruction from the staff. It was a disaster. My whole experience with this funeral home was terrible. My mother had made her plans 19 years ago…read moreand had everything paid for. The person who helped her was out of town. We waited 2 days for his return, they didnt have the casket she wanted so he tried to talk us into something else and finally ordered the original she wanted, they wanted to put off embalming her because her sister insisted on seeing her first but wouldn't show up. The visitation was no better. The family was separated on each end of my mother and there was no one attending to our needs. My nephew was showing visitors where to enter, where the book was located, and where the bathrooms were. The funeral was postponed because the grave had flooded and we had to wait almost a week for her burial. The funeral procession was not organised. We just fell in line and followed the family car. We were rushed from the cemetery as they started the burial. My sisters were hurried into the family car and driven away. No one from the cemetery came out to speak with us. My sister had to ask for the book and thank you cards. Everything was so unprofessional. I felt that because they all knew my mothers sister, she dislikes us, they were trying to follow her direction. We only bury our loved ones once. We deserve respect and dignity during this time.

But, these guys really are top notch for the services they provide and make sure to take the family in full consideration during the entirety of the final wishes. They keep every little written word and uttered note on file, also, and will go through anything you have questions on if you're planning a future service with them. This was particularly helpful for my family as we didn't know where to begin with for an obituary. They will even act as liaison for military burials or being present for church services. During our particular encounter, we had the nasty circumstance of transporting across state lines and had to speak with another funeral home---leading to a bit of paperwork. PFH was very patient with this process as well as doing the best they could to help. Also noteworthy, they have a lot of very nice caskets and urns: Even some that were very endearing. Visited Sharing and Caring for the first time on 01 April, 2026. This was a great experience!…read more Driving in there is good available parking with handicapped spaces. The building is a large single floor building with push doors. The store was buzzing with volunteers organizing donated items. This large thrift store was extremely well organized and the premise was clean and neat. Donations included: clothing, houseware, shoes, artwork, jewelry and so on. Donations were in good condition and clean. The aisles were wide and clear-making them easily accessible to anyone with a cane or wheelchair . The store is one level--no steps or ramps to navigate. On this day, a sign on the door promoted 1/2 off. They don't do this all the time so watch for signs. I purchased a lovely print that I am very happy with. The volunteers that I spoke with were helpful in answering questions and assistance. All proceeds stay in the community supporting local services. There was a chart behind the register showing the percentage of proceeds going back to the community which was impressive. Check for hours of operation (they closed at 2:00 today). Cash is appreciated. Personally, shopping at places like this is fulfilling in so many ways. I find a bargain, save something from a landfill, and support local services and economy. Win-win.

EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN!…read more This store was just one of a few stores that was opened on the square during the Mountain Laurel Festival. It has been in the community for approximately 20 years. While I browsed, my husband enjoyed speaking with the owner who is from the same state as my husband. This store carries interesting antiques and other furnishings. If you love the beauty of natural wood and furnishings with a history, you will enjoy this store. They carry dressers, chests, dining sets, china cabinets, chairs and more. Some of the pieces were huge and would only fit in a space with soaring ceilings, yet would definitely make a statement. The price point for several of the items were a bit shocking but I am not sure how much work may have gone into preparing the piece for resale. As long as we see a continued trend towards more modern furnishings of lesser quality, these types of stores will continue to thrive. When it comes to quality, price is sometimes irrelevant or at most secondary. I think the owner's favorite color must be green because he had hand painted his entire floor in green using a squeegie! It was very cool and creative. The one item that really caught my attention happened to be a little wooden chair that had a really cute design but also painted in a rich green color. So cute and definitely my favorite item in the store.
