Lived at Sterling Parc for 4 years. Good location but has changed management for the worse. Bozzuto Management Group now handles it. The people in the office are ok but the Management group charges for everything. Pets are $25 per month per pet. Over 4 years, there were a few pulls in the carpet and upon moving out we were charged $1200 because they stated we need to replace the ENTIRE carpet. Well, over 4 years we paid $2400 for rent for the pets so what is THAT going towards? The parking situation is atrocious. people park everywhere, parking spots are clearly designated. Plus the maintenance people during the day park in YOUR spots if they see you're not home. Speaking of maintenance, they are more inclined to blame YOU for something being broken rather than shoddy worksmanship. 2 years ago, they replaced our hot water heater and water spilled all over our first floor carpet. So I'm guessing that because of that, I have to pay for that as well? I'm sure that contributed to the damaged carpet that they felt the need to have me pay for. It's a nice location and convenient but WAY overpriced and not worth the hassle. read more

These apartments were much better until they were sold to a new company. The new company hasn't bothered to maintain the landscaping and hassles tenants. I feel very nickle and dimed and I can't wait until my lease is up. Pros: Nice layout, open floor plan. Allows up to two small pets Quick Chek and DQ right in the parking lot. Cons: -No elevator. If you're on the third floor grocery shopping is a hassle. -No lighting at all in the bedrooms or living room. Very dark. -Micromanagement. Leave the door open to bring in groceries? You'll get an official written warning for that. -No walking on the grass, no "loitering" in the hallways, parking lots or in front of buildings. I'm not kidding, I got an official written warning for rolling a ball to my one year old outside the apartment. God forbid I try to go outside. -The play area is very small and my one year old tries to eat the wood chips so we can't go there. Apparently we can't go outside either. -Strictly enforced two guest maximum at the pool. I never see anyone at the pool but other residents told me they were talked to for having more than two people with them. -Over priced. There's apartments just as nice for less money locally. -Rent goes up every year. (This is a new policy with the new management company.) -There are marketing fees, amenity fees, and you are responsible for all utilities. I really regret moving here and I'm counting the days until my lease is up. I'll update this review to let you know if they steal my deposit or give me a hassle when I move out. read more

Moved out recently, never could stand this place. At first your told this is a safe, quiet community but you will learn very fast that it isn't. I had property vandalized, packages stolen, and neighbors that were just terrible. For those who are thinking of this place, beware that when they tell you the price of rent, that doesn't include the additional fees you WILL pay every month; water, tech fee, maintenance fee, etc. I went from a rent of $2,500 to $2,800 after the many fees and still had to pay my own gas and electric. I was paying $3,000 for a small 2 bedroom that had no storage space. What a mistake this was. If they had better staff who were more responsive to these serious problems, I probably would have stayed. read more

Why do people keep saying this place is great? They must not live here; or they are affiliated with them. I have many neighbors who complain all the time about living here and so many people move out every month. It is expensive here, the apartments are small, maintenance is decent but not great, and the people who manage here are not fair or pleasant. I have also noticed that new people get hired here every couple months and then are let go. I live on a first floor and when it rains, there is this terrible smell that comes up from the ground; inside my kitchen and living room. Right now we have an issue with a neighbor who goes through our garage every week and we don't know why; I don't even think she lives on our block. If we try to email management, they ignore us. Plus, I know that when it comes to doing the move-out inspection, we had a neighbor who threatened to sue them because management claimed damages that weren't true; that is never a good experience to deal with. It is like living in the Twilight Zone because the things that happen here are bizarre. There is also a rodent issue around the dumpsters year round. For all the money this Bozzuto makes, why don't they hire better staff so they can prevent more people from leaving; they should have tried to keep Elsie around. Guess what, there are other communities just like this within a 10 mile radius all around the county and they are better reviewed; and cheaper with more space. I hate living here. There is a constant bug problem, the maintenance is terrible, the staff are rude, and the layout/construction of these apartments are below the standard. As time went on, the staff became worse and now they decided to promote Lesley to Property Manager and she is the biggest problem with this place. She has such a bad attitude and if you try to talk to her like a calm human being, she will shoot you down and talk to you like you are a dumb child. I am moving out soon and am glad for it. I hope they find better management soon for the sake of the other people still living here. If you notice, more and more people are moving out; it's not just me. read more

I visited recently these apartments and was asked thrice by Gia to post a review on Google; even though I expressed my dissatisfaction with my overall visit, she insisted nevertheless so here was my honest experience overall. When I arrived, I had to wait until she returned back at the office and then we walked over to the empty 2 bedroom. On the way there, I saw not only piles of unremoved leaves but also garbage throughout the area; also, there was dog waste along the grass and walkways which was unfortunate. Once we arrived, I already knew this was not as big of an apartment as mentioned on their site. The garage is way too small, which explains why everyone there leaves their cars outside; I know I won't be able to fit my SUV in there safely. The rooms are small and the design of them is poor; minimal effort to have an open floor plan of any kind, meaning it feels cramped inside. Then the structure of this one was bad as I noticed that every step I took was like I was going to fall through the floor. You can hear the wood underneath cracking and the cheap carpet was not helpful. The noise from the street nearby and cars makes me think this won't be calming at night. The bathrooms are very old fashioned and honestly, the 2nd one was not very clean. And from a personal comment on the stove, I can't stand those cheap flat-top electric stoves; a real pain to keep clean. How I see it, if you are single then maybe this is an okay match, but if you are that crazy to pay the ridiculous price, then I would never recommend this; even to a single person. I can't see how this would be at all worth anything more than maybe $2,100.00; and I say that because after asking twice if there is anything more that I would have to pay, then finally Gia told me about these other monthly required fees which is about another $200.00 on top of your rent. The gym here is very small and with Covid, I don't think the small proximity is at all safe. After I declined to move in, I was leaving their parking lot and I was almost smashed into by a speeding car coming inside the area; an end to a bad experience. I will have to continue my search absolutely. Hopefully this review was informative for others. read more

UPDATE: 10/17/19: I decided to reach out to Elsie at her office but of course, no reply to my email. As much as I hated to call in, I did and I had the misfortune to speak with Lesly. She said Elsie wasn't in and I said to her that I wanted to speak about the issues I complained about to see if we can find a resolution to all this. She said only Elsie can decide about that. That was days ago the phone call and I still have not gotten a response back. I really hope people see this problem I, and other residents whom have agreed with me, am going through and decide to question the lack of respect this place for people. If they see you as a pest because you notice things broken when you move in, then you are a plague to them and I have been treated like this since I moved in. We have considered taking all of our collected issues to the BBB, and I think it's time we do so. read more

First Impressions. My Husband and I recently sold our home and were looking to rent for a year or 2 before buying a new home. We went here at Sterling Parc at Hanover to see the 2-Bed for us and our son; our parish is right around the corner and we thought we check it out. It was a 2nd floor with garage. This was such a bad experience. We dealt with someone who was acting like our visit was such an inconvenience and that was already a bad sign. We then go in through the front door and right off the bat we didn't like the condition of the apartment. The stairs made such a loud sound when going up them; bad condition. Then we saw the room to room dirty carpet. The screen to the very small patio was broken and could barely slide open. It was obvious that somebody had been using the guest bathroom because it was filthy; even though we were told the last person moved out in July; very strange? Also there was obvious food crumbs all along the sink; is it normal for an apt. to be used when not vacant or were we lied to? Then we go in the Master bedroom and My God we were so scared. We already noticed that the floor in the living room and guest bedroom made very loud sounds when you walked over it, even though it is carpet, but when we walked in the Master room, it sounded like the floor was going to drop down. I refused to walk any further in; I had my Husband look at the bathroom there. He then said that there was a bunch of dead, and still alive, spiders all around the bathtub; gross. Last thing we noticed as we were about to go back downstairs was the noise. There was loud music, or possibly a TV, playing from one of the attached neighbors and it was so LOUD; and it was the middle of the day and we could hear everything. Not something I would want to have to deal with trying to sleep at night if that is the case. Last place we saw was the garage and it was small; and I mean small. We drive a moderate sized SUV and there would be no way to fit it in there without having to squeeze out of the doors each time. I noticed that all of the people that were home that day had their cars parked in front of their garage and not in it; makes sense to me now. When we finally got outside, the agent there had the nerve to say if we were going to sign the contract now because if not then they will not accommodate us any further? It was our first visit and we needed to think on it!?! We aren't going to take it anyway but that was beyond rude. The price is nowhere worth it and another thing that is terrible is that you have to pay them, no matter what, to use Optimum; $75 a month separate. We use Verizon and were told that we would have to pay them the $75 whether we use them or not. Last note, but a creepy one, was that we saw this man sitting a few apartments down outside in a lawn chair; he had no shirt on and was wearing a pair of briefs only, no shoes either. When we left the appt., it was at the same time as some kids were being dropped off by a school bus and my Husband pointed out how he was just staring at them; it was so creepy and bizarre. That was more than enough to know that this place is not what it seems online. By the way, they are owned by Bozzuto so those reviews are not the best to go by. That is how I was tricked into seeing this. You guys need to improve on this place. read more

So I've lived here for almost 5 years and I am so upset at how this community has changed. The management company that took over put staff here that doesn't know what they're doing. The rent was increased. The grounds are not as pleasant as before. This place used to be great but then it changed tremendously. The layout of the apartment is not very big and the square footage for most apartments is small. They also have a computer room that my son and daughter sometimes use to do school research for when our computer doesn't work well, and mind you we pay for this service every month in the rent, but they will not shy away from telling my kids to hurry up and leave; and to not use the computer so much. It is so rude to make kids feel like they are not allowed to use them, even though we pay for that amenity every, single month. We wish this place was better but now my Husband is looking to move somewhere else. By the way, we have tried to contact Elsie in her office and every time we try and call, either Lesly or Ian will say she is not there. I ask for her to call me back, and nothing for months. This place is expensive and not worth it. They raised the rent 10% each year and give you nothing for the drastic increase. The parking is horrible, you get designated spots and the guest parking is all way near the club house which was at least block away from my apartment. The maintenance staff not very good, and unprofessional office staff since they had their personal dispute in my apartment while the maintenance was fixing something in my apartment. I addressed my concerns above with the management company's property manager Bozzuto management in writing and she never addressed anything or reply to my email. read more

Just moved out of here at Hanover Sterling Parc and I am so glad I didn't stay. This place is not as shown online, so don't be tricked like me. My wife and I moved here because we thought this would be a nice place to retire but it has caused us nothing but grief. The Management is rude and condescending. The Maintenance are the same; especially that Tom is supposed to be the Manager of the team. He was always rude to me and my wife, and no matter how many time we tried to be nice with him, he just gave us a dirty look and acted like we were the worst people on Earth. His assistance Leslie was just as bad. It's like all the staff here have a big chip on their shoulder and they take it out on the residents. The apartment we were in was damaged from the move in; and of course Tom tried to convince us that we caused it. The noise was unbearable most nights; thin walls, above and below. The carpet rug was filthy and hard to maintain. The sink in the bathroom always leaked. The toilet always made a loud noise during the night. The patio screen was ripped when we moved in and for as many times as we requested to have it replaced, it never did; it was still ripped when we moved out. There was always someone who would decide to park in front of my garage; and if you told anyone at the office, they would say call the police and let them tow it. I would expect at least them to tell all residents that it shouldn't be allowed. My garage door also would jam all the time when trying to close and a few times, I would go outside to leave in the morning and my garage door was opened???? It would open on it's own and I wouldn't find out until the next morning; very unsafe. Then, when we moved out, sure enough that the Management tried to make claims that we damaged the apartment and attempted to keep not only my deposit, but also made a bunch of additional charges they demanded I pay. I threatened to sue them and had my Lawyer call their office, and sure enough they let it go. Word to the wise, take pictures when you move and when you move out. My nephew who is a real estate agent told me that it the best way to guarantee that these places can't try and pull that stunt. There is much more to tell but this is enough to know not to move here. The price is too high and it is not at all nice as it seems online. They will trick you into signing the 13 month lease and they will quickly neglect you as a resident. My wife and I decided to just buy another house and we are much, much happier now. read more
