I have a PPO because I like selecting my doctors so I was weary of going to see a doctor I hadn't researched or selected. Since I feel I get amazing care with my current medical provider I decided to take her recommendation. I didn't know what to expect from my appointment with Dr. Duffin. I have a very limited understanding of what rheumotologists do. Dr, Duffin took the time to pull up my medical records on some medical record sharing software system. He went through about 5 years of my medical history asking me questions and reading over lab reports, doctor's notes and my MRI. Dr. Duffin was able to tell me what was wrong with me, what I should expect and how I can treat it. He took the time to show me things online, explain to me what he was showing me and he printed up some materials for me to take home and read. He was very patient in answering all my questions. He ordered a few more blood tests and called me on a Sunday to report the results when I called his office with a question he called me back on a weeknight at 10pm. I'm not sure if the Sunday and 10pm calls are for everyone, but I didn't mind. If you're in the market for a rheumotologist, I highly recommend Dr. Duffin!

I have a short story to t ell you about Dr. Mehdi,…read more Three years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia by Dr. Mehdi. I went to see her 3 times and the last time I was in a wheelchair (I could no longer take a step because of the pain) and I remember so well that she told me that I had to make my life from now on and get used to the idea that my life was going to be different, in other words, to get used to living with fibromyalgia. I felt so sad but deep down I knew that diagnosis was wrong. The body itself speaks. After suffering for five years horrible pain, I got surgery three months ago. Today I am 95% pain-free. IT WAS NOT fibromyalgia! It was a Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome in other words a pinched nerve. I waited until today to write this review and let Dr. know. Mehdi that patients should not be diagnosed by guessing. On top of that when she diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, she prescribed some strong and control drugs that I didn't really needed (antidepressants). Today I am very grateful to God, my doctor who, in the first appointment gave me the correct diagnosis. Tengo una historia que contar acerca de esta doctora. Hace tres anos fui diagnosticada con fibromialgia por la Dra. Mehdi. Fui a verla 3 veces y la ultima vez fui en silla de ruedas(ya no podia dar ni un paso del dolor) recuerdo tan bien que me dijo que tenia que hacer mi vida y que de ahora en adelante iba a ser diferente en otras palabras que me acostumbrara a vivir con fibromialgia. Senti tan feo, pero dentro de mi sabia que ese diagnostico estaba equivocado. El mismo cuerpo habla. Hace tres meses tuve cirugia en mi talon izquierdo y despues de 5 anos de ese dolor horrible hoy estoy un 95% sin dolor. NO ERA Fibromialgia!!! Como ella me lo había asegurado. Era el Syndrome del Tunel Tarsiano. En otras palabras era un nervio que corre por el talon y que estaba siendo presionado por tejidos. Espere hasta el dia de hoy para escribir este mensaje y hacerle saber a la Dra. Mehdi que los pacientes no se deben diagnosticar adivinando. Encima del diagnostico erróneo me receto unos medicamentos controlados (antidepresivos) porque ese tipo de medicamento se toma cuando padeces de fibromialgia. Fue fatal porque si no tenia depresión, que jamas he padecido, los efectos secundarios de estos medicamentos me hicieron experimentar lo que es depresión y muchas cosas mas. Hoy por hoy estoy muy agradecida con Dios, mi doctor que en la primera cita que tuve me dio el diagnostico correcto y por toda la gente que me ayudo. Tomen varias opiniones medicas cuando no estén convecidos de su diagnostico.
