We reached out to Whiskytown approx 15 times for about a week and drove by Business, Wall St in Redding noted an eviction notice on door, we became concerned. Luckily I remembered grabbing a business card from the owner of Essex Heating and Air Conditioning (Greg Unger) at a Home & Garden event my mom and I went to awhile back. I called them to see if they could help and they were able to setup an appointment later that day! I obviously wasn't there, but my mom tells me that a very nice technician came out and fixed the heater quite quickly. I am so thankful that it all went so smoothly - sending a stranger out to my mom's house isn't something I like doing, especially when I don't know much about them, but I'm glad we took the chance. They were upfront with my mom about the costs before doing any repairs and the speediness and customer service were really appreciated. I would definitely recommend calling Essex if you need help with heating or air conditioning - they were so fast, friendly and honest.

I tried to change the batteries but since I'm not a professional, I thought it would be best to have a professional take a look. I called William and he was here within 24 hours to look at the system. He did confirm it was just the thermostat, however while doing a quick seasonal inspection of the system, he realized we had a much bigger problem!! The part that releases the carbon monoxide gases when the heater is on was broken, and because it was black we couldn't even see it had separated. If we would've turned the system on, we could've potentially poisoned our entire home. He ordered the part which came in within 2 days and once received, was back out again within 24 hours. He recommended an excellent new thermostat and now we have a safe system once again. I can't thank him enough, and I highly recommend his services as he was extremely professional, knowledgeable, polite, timely, and reasonably priced.

NONE of those HVAC companies would come out on the weekend, and could not schedule before Tuesday -- a 4 day wait!
