Have always had a solid experience at Steve's throughout the years. Convenient, solid price, and always leave feeling fresh.

I had been a regular patron of Steve's Barber Shop for six years, appreciating the convenience and service it provided. However, my recent visit changed my perspective entirely. While waiting for my turn, I overheard a conversation between Steve and another customer. Steve was reminiscing about a wrestler he knew during his youth, mentioning that he had seen this individual on television recently. As he described the wrestler, Steve commented on his attire, noting the short shorts he wore. Steve then loudly declared, "So it is clear he is a dick sucker. That is what we call them around here: dick suckers." His words were intended for everyone in the shop to hear. I was taken aback by Steve's remarks and left questioning his character. His statement seemed to broadcast a strong dislike for gay people. In my experience, it is not uncommon for those who express such overt homophobia to be struggling with their own identity. Regardless of Steve's motivations, his behavior was unacceptable. After hearing Steve's comments, I decided to leave the shop immediately. I found another barbershop less than a mile away and received a better haircut. I will never return to Steve's Barber Shop and hope others do likewise. read more

Most unpleasant experience I've ever had for a haircut. Steve was rude and didn't have a word to say other than barking at me for slightly moving my head as he yanked my hair and moved my head by placing all his fingers across my forehead, and aggressively pushing clippers to my head. He's a nasty, homophobic old man who should've retired years ago. His son Michael does a great job, is friendly and personable, and doesn't deserve his future business to be associated with this. I got a good haircut and live 2 minutes away but the experience was so offputting I will never return. I almost left in the middle of my haircut. read more

Steve's barber shop is a throwback to a time where things were better quality, more wholesome, and CLEANER. I think the big chains have lost not only the charm but the sanitary habits. Steve is conscious of health safety issues, and he also happens to be a wiz with the clippers. The setting is nice and warm, and the waiting area has comfy couches and a tv. The haircut is amazing and talk about economical! Better than most haircuts I've gotten that costed double the price! they may have the cheapest haircuts down the shore , but I'll tell you, I've been here for 25 minutes, steve still hasn't finished cutting this guys hair who was in the chair beforebi got here, basic hair, 5 minutes tops, it's going on 30 minutes. the lady had 2 come and go but doesnt do skin? idk all I know is this lobby is packed and steve is taking his good ole time on purpose. Not to mention all his bad talk on young people and how we can't hold a job, sorry pal that's not the reason you're short staff maybe watch they way you speak to and about people "crackhead". I do not recommend. I showed the barber a picture of the haircut and gave a descriptive explanation of what I wanted, he gave me the complete opposite. The barber asked me a couple of times if I used any products in my hair, which I really don't, and he suggested I do; which now makes no sense because I barely have any hair on my head to use the product on. This barber shop is only good if you want an extremely short haircut and you're ok with the barber ignoring your requests and doing their own thing. read more

Nice place, clean and friendly. But my hot shave was a bit lacking. I shouldn't be leaving and feeling stubble on my face and neck. He only shaved me in one direction and my beard, like others, grows both with and against the grain. SO therefore it's not as smooth as I would hope. Razor felt a bit dull, maybe its mostly a haircut place. read more
