If you parked in the back, there is a handy stairway that leads you right to the entrance of the Theatre. Before the show started, one of the employees gave us some ground rules like no talking and no taking pictures or videos. After that, our group wandered into the strange, immersive experience. If you like plays, I definitely recommend checking this place out. It was all of the good things from plays like great performers with an added sense of interactivity. Sure, you can't talk with the performers but you can walk through the sets so it feels like you're in that world that the team worked so hard to create. That sense of being immersed in the scene is what really sets this place apart from other plays that I've been to. As recommended, feel free to explore and wander by yourself. Stay as long as you want to make sure you get all of the interactions with the main character. The main dialogs are all set to repeat after a certain time so if you missed one, you can always come back later to see and hear it. Overall, the performers were excellent and I definitely recommend checking this place out for future performances!

I did everything 'right' by buying my season tickets the first day of subscriber pre-sales (September 9th) and selecting a specific seat for my needs. Only to show up for my performance to learn that my seat had been changed. Instead of enjoying a performance of my favorite show, I was forced into a position that shouldn't have happened. There has been a complete lack of transparency or any communication from the venue, from my seat being changed in January 2026 without my knowledge, to another refund I received 'out of the blue' that I had already attended. Was this unexpected refund for a past show an attempt to cover the taxes and fees they withheld from the first refund? Or was it an attempt to avoid apologizing for the original error? Over the years, I shared 157 photos and many reviews to support this venue's growth. I have removed most of these photos. I will leave the documentation of my seating error. I also organized group outings to the venue, which led others to purchase tickets. One person's voice matters. I hope my experience ensures that future subscribers are treated with the respect that their loyalty deserves, rather than being treated as a single seat that can be moved to accommodate a more lucrative sale. Update: Management stepped up and provided me with a full refund for the season, including the performances I've seen, excluding taxes and fees. This was after the box office called me a liar and unkind, not in the spirit of the show. Kindness starts with respecting your customers and believing them when they have the evidence in hand, with the paper-timed-stamp ticket. I have uploaded photos showing my original September 9, 2025, purchase date and the handwritten seat change forced upon me at check-in as proof." Then, with the Ludus system, they likely know who moved my season seat to sell two seats together. "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." Theatre Raleigh does not seem to respect its season ticket holders or donors. When I select a seat with my season ticket package, that is the seat I expect to sit in for the show. I specifically chose aisle seats as my preference, and the extra room helps with my knee injury. So I was upset when I arrived at a performance and was told my seat had been moved. Usually, it has been from a changed seating chart, but in my last performance, the actual seat number was changed. The aisle seat I had purchased on the first day of season-ticket sales was occupied by another patron. It appears that someone at the box office chose to relocate my seat so that two seats were available for sale together when individual tickets went on sale in January. So this tells me that they do not value season ticket holders and are more concerned about another sale. This was the final straw for me, and I cannot recommend this theatre to others. It feels like a slap in the face as a donor to be treated with such disdain. Granted, I am a low-level donor. When I complained at the show that my seat, purchased in September 2025, had been moved from the aisle, I was told the show was sold out. No, that is not acceptable. I will support and donate to other performing arts organizations that better value and recognize their patrons, and walk away from those that treat me like a transaction. I can no longer donate to an organization that prioritizes last-minute sales over the explicit seat selections of its long-term supporters.

We have seen amazing performers like Stephanie J Block and Norm Lewis and amazing shows like Once, Bridges of Madison County and most recently Waitress. Absolutely everything we have seen here is outstanding. To say that Lauren Kennedy knows how to run a Theater and bring theater lovers what they want is an understatement. When we moved to NC from the DMV a few years ago, I was so worried I wouldn't get to…read moresee as many musicals as I was used to being so close to the Kennedy Center, the State Theater, the Lincoln Theater, and DAR, but DPAC is all of those, all wrapped into one. I get excited to see what the Broadway package is year over year. I've seen some classics and a few newer shows and they have all been exquisite. The stage products is great, the different price points of seating are great (although I'm terrified of the 3rd level, it is really high up there!), the staff are always so friendly and helpful, there are good concessions and the pretzels are always fresh! There is a photo booth that I frequent every show we go to, which I love. There are bars on every level,and although I wish there were more stalls in the bathrooms, as it gets hectic, but they bring out a person with a sign to show where the end of the line is, so that's cool. They get music, musicals, drag, and comedians, so there is something for everyone. If you have the opportunity I highly recommend scheduling a visit.

(as in, connected to the building...really...if you've never looked back there, like we had not, you might never have noticed it either.) I have now learned that this is where Theatre Raleigh performs their Hot Summer Nights series. This week the new season kicked off with "Vanities". Lauren Kennedy starred in it Off-Broadway and has brought it to us and is directing it. My understanding is she is the mastermind behind the whole series, and let's face it...this talented Broadway star knows her stuff! Today was our first time here (thanks Dad for the tix!) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Small, intimate theatre that holds around 100. Seating is general admission, but there is literally not a bad seat in the place. We were able to hear every word and see everything from where we landed, which was third row from the back. Seats were comfortable with not-bad leg room. The show, by the way, is fun and the three gals in it are terrific! They were all wonderful singers and great actresses as well. I do believe the show runs for another week or so. I absolutely love the intimacy of this theatre. Love that every show in the series is one I've never seen before and know nothing about. There is no assigned seating and although were were there 10 min before curtain, come early if you want best chances in being accomodated seating wise. As part of their Family series, Theatre Raleigh's The Wolf is a performance was suited for theatre lovers of all ages. I loved the intimacy of the Kennedy Theater as it made us feel like we were apart of the show! If you didn't see this particular show, it is back by popular demand for an encore performance and I highly recommend you plan a family date to attend. It's only 45 minutes long which I found was great amount of time to enjoy theatre with children. This show integrated music, dance, acting and fun into a tale about the Big ,Bad Wolf and all of the childhood stories he shows up in. Theatre Raleigh took a very creative approach in mashing up these fables/tales and put on a quality production. Support the arts and the young talent in Raleigh by attending any of the shows held at Kennedy Theater!

Though he wasn't in it, he had rehearsed as an understudy and had great things to say about the performance (a quirky interpretation involving outer space!) and the cast. We really did enjoy the set and the creative costuming. Some of the voices were excellent, though a few didn't seem as well suited for opera. The most troubling thing was that several of the main characters either weren't able to project or enunciate, so we were sometimes struggling to understand exactly what was being sung. All in all, still great fun! And a wonderful local group to support.

If you love live music but aren't a fan of huge crowds and overpriced everything, this theater is a total gem. First off, the vibe here is just cool and intimate. It's one of those places where, even if you're sitting a bit farther back, you still feel close to the action. The acoustics were great, every note and every lyric was super clear, which really made the performance feel special. Muscadine Bloodline killed it, by the way! One thing I really appreciated: the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. Getting there was a breeze and there's a parking garage directly across the street, so no crazy searches for a spot or long walks in the cold/rain/heat. You can literally be inside the theater within minutes of parking. Inside, the concessions were surprisingly reasonable. I was bracing myself to pay $20 for a beer like most venues, but nope, drinks and snacks were actually affordable. It's a little thing, but it made the night even better. Being able to sit for the show was also huge for me. The seats were comfortable, with a good view from just about anywhere. I loved not having to stand the whole time or jockey for space. It's honestly the perfect size, big enough for a killer crowd atmosphere, but small enough that it's not overwhelming. All in all, the Carolina Theatre just nails it for live shows. Great music, chill atmosphere, reasonable prices, and zero hassle. Can't wait to catch another concert here!

The venue itself is easy to find with lots of parking and there is a decent amount of seating available for a smallish space. The front of house staff were helpful and nice, tickets were very affordable ($8), and the theater also sold reasonably priced beer and wine. The show started on time and was entertaining! I was a bit surprised that there was a short intermission halfway through the show since it was only an hour long, but that may just be a unique part of the "Show and Tell" performance. Overall, I would definitely come back here - it was a lot of fun!
