I still have the great Woolrich jacket (red plaid) I purchased here over a decade ago and have worn constantly--and last weekend, I got a cool hat to match it. Don't be hesitant about asking an employee for assistance or even going to Customer Service for assistance. The perennial scam in all Big Box stores is excessive returns and misuse of the self-payment registers. Be assured that all stores have the same security methods and they are quite good at catching the bad people. If you just want to walk around and shop another suggestion is to call the store and ask them if they have a specific item, and to actually hold it for you. There is an excellent free Walmart app for your smart phone to make shopping much easier by actually locating the item and current price. Walmart still has a policy of meeting the cost of all other "local" competitors with the actual flyer listing prices. The pizza and Italian-type foods are the mainstay of many college people. But this Kingston, NY location came to the rescue. It's a small detour if we're heading to Woodstock and it's been a savior for those late-night purchases or pickups. I had purchased my fave Threshold brand sheet sets online about 5ish pm on a Friday and was able to pick them up easily here. And even though I didn't pick up my items within their "2hr/Your order is ready" slot, my purchases were waiting for me when I came here 20 minutes before closing. Thank you. The girls at the Pick Up area are sweet and totally helpful. Prices are great and as corny as it might sound, 'Target is my Happy place'.

So you have to set your expectations correctly. Within 20 miles or more, there's really nothing else like a mall. Some of the stores are going to be a bit weird, or will go out of business after a few months, or whatever. As it is, this mall served its purpose; something for us to do for an hour or so to kill some time when it was raining. I was here 3 times while home visiting my parents and both experiences were blah. The first time I came shopping in store. The parking lot is insane. It was early afternoon and we still had to park very far away. Inside the store things looked like a tornado went through in many different sections. They also had empty spots, and were out of quite a few things. The one thing that made me happy was the special biodegradable, reusable bags they are now using. They are super sturdy and def worth reusing, esp with NY State's plastic bag ban going into effect in the spring. The second and third times I did online order for pickup in store. I dont know if this is a newer option at this Target, but at home I am used to this being a very quick process. They even have reserved parking for it. Here I had to wait in line with everyone else wanting something out of the customer service desk, to which only one person was working. One instance I showed my barcode and they said it wasn't needed just my ID. The second instance they wanted my barcode and not the ID. No consistency. Some of my products ordered online upon pickup were not available and had to be cancelled.
