They do a beer special once a month or so with some sort of local or craft beer in bottles at what is a pretty good price for Australia. The dinner service doesn't start until six and the menu is rotating with different items constantly being added. I stopped by for dinner on a Thursday night and the place was just about dead. No crowds, just a bartender and a couple of people way in the back playing the pokies so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

The Point is located on top of the southern hills on Point Arkwright just outside Coolum Beach. The units are large and have the bigger outside patio's as they appear to have been built in the 1990's. Be careful with your car around this complex as some parts are fairly steep. Lots of low wheelbase vehicles will 'bottom out' on the driveway to the reception area - so take care. They have spacious self-contained one, two bedroom and three bedroom holiday apartments, most with views overlooking Coolum Beach and the Pacific Ocean or the Coolum Hillsides. It's a good 15-20 minute walk to most dining and shopping in Coolum.But this is a good alternative to staying in Coolum on the main road with all that traffic noise. Rooms are comfortably large. Yes, they are a bit outdated (brick walls with faux wood paneled closet, pink toilet) - but wasn't in any sense tacky at all. The previous review stated that the bedspread was outdated but I thought ours wasn't (classy white with a silver/gray runner at the foot of the bed). We booked two separate rooms (one for us, one for my parents). Unfortunately we didn't think to request that the rooms to be adjoining because we did notice our room had a door to the next room (occupied/locked) - but next time we will do so! There is a mini refrigerator, toaster, and electric kettle for your use. You can request microwave if you should need one. There are BBQs to use (must reserve). There is a pool for use during the day time. Trust me, you don't want to head there at night. Tennis court too. Our rooms had adjoining balcony with a great view of the hinterland rainforest. All around a comfortable stay and one we will definitely consider again in the future for a quick getaway!

As the other reviews have pointed out, these aren't brand-new buildings and some are partially remodeled, but none are uninhabitable and really, you are right across the street from one of the best beaches on the entire planet so you shouldn't be spending too much time on the property anyway. The bedrooms are comfortable, plenty of glasses and dishes in the kitchen, bathrooms that are plenty large, laundry machines for each unit, and a big deck. But like I said before, this place is right across the street from the beach, with plenty of restaurants, shopping, even a chemist right on Hastings. The staff is super friendly and happy to provide recommendations for things to do and where to hire sporting goods and whatnot, as well as extra towels.

Each building contains a number of apartments and ours was large, with a queen bed, living room, bathroom, and kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, toaster and hot pot, but because we tend to save money by cooking our own food on vacation, I would have like a bit more cooking facilities. The larger apartments contain more, but in the studio apartments, for example, you have to do your dishes in the bathroom sink. Not a deal breaker, just a bit annoying. And make sure you wash all the dishes and take all your trash with you when you leave or you get charged $25.00. The complex has a small pool, a tennis court and direct access to Castaways Beach, but if you don't have a car like we did, it is a bit difficult to go to the Main Beach and National Park in Noosa Heads. There is a public bus available, but I never took it so I can't tell you the price or how often it ran. I'm more of a walker and, unfortunately we were too far away to walk to town, but the beach stretching from the south up to Sunshine and Sunrise Beach at Noosa Heads is phenomenal--large with well-packed sand perfecting for walking or jogging. Go down there to watch the surfers and the dogs frolicking in the surf in the morning. There is a bike path that runs parallel to the beach for part of the way, but getting to town involves at least an hour's walk and you have to figure out how to get from the bike path to the shops. Getting to the Main Beach takes even longer. Overall a decent place to spend a few nights, but if I were staying any longer I would spring for one of the larger apartments, which have laundry facilities and balconies, some of which face the beach and the ocean. I also recommend renting a car so you can visit all the sights north up to Noosa Heads.

Their gardens are splendid and Roberto makes a breakfast that's out of this world. Even though my friends weren't up for eggs benedict and this is a dish that's difficult to make for one person, Roberto surprised me with his fabulous eggs benedict on my last morning there. The eggs come from their own chickens that you can visit in their garden. The bedrooms are roomy and comfortable. They built a beautiful fire every night in the lovely living room. The home is decorated with an Asian theme and there is something beautiful to behold where ever you look. Roberto also gave us tips on some fabulous restaurants in Noosa. This place is a piece of Shangri-La. If you're visiting the Noosa area, Noosa Valley Manor is the place to stay. BTW, if you're Italian, Roberto speaks your language.
