Touted as a "posh hostel," I expected much more. I guess that's what I get for trying to be cheap,…read moreas I only paid $130 for 4 nights. The lobby area was cute, with a nice area to sit and chill by the window. However, the room (I chose the 4 female only option) was kind of bare bones with 2 bunk beds, small 1 seater couch seat, lockers (need to bring your own lock) and a large window. Also, during check in, I had to pay 35 SEK for sheets (one time fee, but still). On top of that, towels were 30 SEK and I couldn't even get 1 the first night because I returned after hours, which was quite early at 8PM. I was pretty upset about that. I've stayed in hostels all throughout Europe and NEVER had to pay for sheets and / or towel, but I later learned this is common in Scandinavia. Location is very central and in the city center. It is walking distance from the train station, shops, bakeries for Fika, restaurants, the park near Royal Palace, Gamla Stan (old town), along with T-Central (and others) metro station. The hostel uses a code system for access to the courtyard to get to the rooms (which changes each day), the room itself, as well as for night entrance. All the codes are listed on a small piece of paper, and is attached to a map of the space. Before entering the main area where all the rooms were, there was a place to put shoes, which I didn't mind doing. One morning I put my boots down for a few seconds and when I got back, they were not in the same spot I left them. The staff was great about this though, as they checked the cameras and located my boots. After that I didn't trust leaving them there and carried them to the room. There was a downstairs common area, which includes a kitchen with free pasta (have to bring your own sauce though), cozy hang out area, and showers. I went down here with one of my roommates and quickly made friends. I ended up chilling here after exploring the city for 2 nights in a row, just chatting with fellow travelers. Definitely a great place to socialize! After around 11PM, we were asked in a very gentle way to keep the noise level to a minimum, which I thought was a considerate gesture for other guests. The place offers a breakfast, which costs 95 SEK. This consists of a berry smoothie (or orange juice) and ham with cheese panini (or mozzarella with tomato), which was pretty tasty. I think it should have also came with coffee. The folks working here were nice and friendly. They even have a way to chat with them after hours on WhatsApp, even though they couldn't help me with the towel situation since I hadn't paid for one. Overall, these were decent accommodations, at an awesome price point, but some improvements can definitely be made.

The rooms are fairly nice, I was in a huge dorm with many beds (I think 12 total) and it was a fairly good experience. There were many other solo travelers my age so it was really easy to meet people and everyone was so friendly. The hostel was very clean which is what I liked most. It is required that you take your shoes off when inside, which helped with the cleanliness and I really respected. The kitchen is also really large for a hostel which was nice to be able to buy groceries and come back to cook them. Overall I had a great experience here, my favorite hostel out of the 6 I stayed at across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Would definitely return when in Stockholm again

We found the location to be pretty central which is super important to me when I'm deciding to stay someplace. We were able to get on the bus or take the train to where we wanted to go with just a few minutes walk. This hostel offered a private room which made us feel safe and secure. We were given a room with two bunk beds and the bathroom was just down the hall. It was clean and small. There was bedding for us and we just needed to throw it in the laundry shoot as we checked out. The bathroom was right down the hall. It was clean with no frills. I never ended up taking a shower so I can't speak to that. Overall I would stay here again. The price point was great, the staff was helpful, the wifi was free and it was clean. If you're looking to get a drink at the bar it's pricey but other than that our stay was great.

It's located aside the big roads alongside green areas so it's calm, quiet and cosy. We've were three girls going to the Eurovision 2016 and looked for something kindda cheap yet still close to the city center and boy did we find a nice place. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Arrived early and it was possible to check in 3 hours earlier, they helped us with tickets to the T-train and was alway kind and smiling. Room was small but functional, nice beds, nice bedroom, small TV and ok space for storage. The only thing we missed was a refrigerator for our beverages. Our room had the breakfast included and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Great variety of bread, yoghurt, egg, bacon, tea, coffee, waffles, jam, croissants, smoothies etc and everything tasted good. Nice dining surroundings too! Would definitely go there if I'm visiting Stockholm again.

Coming here in October wasn't the best time for the hotel or Stockholm, but I nonetheless had a…read morepleasant stay. First of all, the building. It is incredibly unique for a hotel and was also the first time I have ever entered a previous (or existing) prison. The format of the rooms, completely embodying the previous prison, was really cool. The only downside that resulted from this was the room size. They were a little small, and the desk wasn't a complete rectangle, and a little impractical. The bed, however, was comfortable, with enough space, and everything was clean. I can't complain that much about the space, because I chose the cheapest option, but it was smaller than what I was expecting. As for the location, it is not bad. Its island had next to nothing to do. There is a football field nearby, but I am unsure whether that is available for public use. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel is actually very good and had a great lunch special when I went there (169 SEK). In order to get to central Stockholm, I took the electric scooters that are scattered nearby, which took me around 15 minutes, and was very cheap. There are plentiful restaurants nearby, as well as a gym where you can get day passes (only in person). I did not make it to the museum, so I cannot comment. The breakfast was less than thrilling. The eggs I had (which was my biggest complaint) were very runny, but also laden with butter, so they were super heavy. Not the way you're supposed to make eggs. The rest of the food wasn't bad and had a pretty good variety.

Surprisingly clean hostel (well, as clean as a hostel can be) in a great location, close to bars,…read morerestaurants, supermarket, and attractions. Very affordable with rooms starting at 149 SEK (or $20 USD at time I stayed). I originally booked a 14 Bed Mixed Dorm room, but when I checked-in, I got upgraded to a 6-bed female room. Score! Of note, they do require a 100 SEK room deposit which you get back when you check out. Also you have to pay extra to rent linens and a towel. It wasn't a big deal to me since I brought my own quick-dry towel and travelsheets. I read up beforehand that it's not uncommon for European hostels to charge for linens (unlike US & Canadian hostels). Thus I packed a sleeping bag liner/travelsheets so I didn't have to pay extra. Another perk of this hostel is there seems to be plenty of washrooms and sinks. I never had to wait to use one. Also plenty of showers, albeit at the cost of privacy. No private showers, think open shower area with curtains separating each "stall." And an area similar to a sauna where you can get dressed after you shower. Lots of common areas to hang out with your laptop. Kitchen was busy during dinner time as everyone seemed to prefer cooking in pricey Stockholm! Overall, enjoyed my stay here. Wouldn't mind staying here again next time I'm in Stockholm!

Internet wifi is free but really sucks, they should really improve that. The location is also perfect that you can walk to all sights, bars or restaurants. I stayed here for a week because I had to go to a conference in Stockholm. When we have these conferences, twice a year, the nations push the boat out and arrange quite posh, usually four-star hotels, for the attendees. Now I don't know if this one had four-stars but to me it was more in the two-star range. The rooms were OK, very basic; nothing like a posh place. There was free wifi in the room, which is always nice, and decent television with many shows in English (the Swedish don't dub tv shows and movies). The worst part of the room was the bathroom. The toilet seat was broken and the bathroom was quite small. The shower was a typical shower head that you got under and the water went right onto the floor and down a drain i.e., no proper shower to speak of. Instead of nice little bars of soap and little bottles of shampoo and conditioner, the soap supply was one of those that you find in a men's room in McDonalds or other public place; put your hand under it, squeeze and get a handful of soap. Not what I expect in a hotel that isn't exactly cheap to stay in. On the other hand, the breakfast was plentiful and quite good.
