I have been going into this library since I was a little girl and it hasn't changed a bit, literally not one thing has changed, well maybe some of the staff but that is it! When you walk in the doors downstairs you will be walking straight into the adult section of the library. There are also some computer terminals here where you can get access to the internet (is suppose that is one change, but probably the only one!). Upstairs is the children's library which is divided up in different age groups. They have readings of various books in there too from time to time which is something free and good to do (for children)on a rainy day . The other half of the upstairs part of the library ahs desks for studying, not many though so don't all rush down there at once! Around these desks are shelves one of which is full of books and documents detailing the history of the local area, you will be surprised about how little local history of Dundrum is on the internet so this is a valuable resource.

This library was all renewed in 2014 and it is now a really nice place for reading and pick up…read morebook. Internet is available in all areas, as long as you have a library card. They have a good selection of books, but most of then fictional - good anyway, if you feel like reading a romance. It is also possible to print and scanner there. The reading areas is large and silent, a definite good spot to spend time at.

There has been minor construction going on for a while with plans to extend the Library and make it better, but it has not disrupted it too much. The opening hours are a little tricky, but you can always ring them up or check online for opening hours. The best thing about Blackrock Library is they have an amazing selection of films and cds. And they dont limit it to 3 cds/films like some other Librarys do. The Library itself is not the biggest, but they do have decent books and a couple of computers with interenet, as well as free wifi. Its normally quiet enough inside and the staff are cool people. You can renew online, phone or in store which is handy.

Very often I have to come here for researching family trees and history etc. The ladies who work…read morehere are so very helpful and pleasant. They are great at making suggestions if I feel stuck on something. Parking is just outside. AND most of the time you get to research with books, ledgers and records in BOOKS. Absolute pleasure to read through and turn the pages of old church records from around 1650.
