It took me several…read moremonths to identify an equestrian farm that met all of my expectations; a place that is family-oriented, responsible, caring and safe. After meeting the owner, Ms. Bobbie Henderson, and hearing her beliefs regarding teaching horses and people, I knew that I had found the right place for me. Bobbie believed that individuals should earn the right to ride; understand and bond with a horse, learn to ride utilizing natural horsemanship concepts and theories, and understand what it takes to own one of these beautiful creatures. Showing up just to ride does not provide the knowledge and skill needed to truly understand, and successfully ride a horse. Thus, everyone taking riding lessons 1) learns proper horse handling, grooming and tacking, 2) contributes to keeping the tack and barn clean (mainly light sweeping), and 3) carries out responsible behavior through learned leadership skills. Through this process, I've had the pleasure of observing young people with high anxiety, short attention spans, and self-assurance issues gain much-needed confidence when given the responsibilities of understanding and caring for a horse. It is absolutely amazing process to watch!! I believe in Sarajevo Farm, their purpose and instruction process, and hope to be with them for years to come.

There was one main pasture that would have up to 18 horses one it at one time - every day. There was a roundpen, an unusable outdoor arena, and two small paddocks that combined could take another six horses. The fields were over grazed and there's no real deworming protocol in place. Owners weren't held responsible for deworming, then their horses would go out with the others. Hopefully the owner has become more mature with her management but if it's anything like it was 5 years ago, stay clear!

Shady and cool, in spite of the humid weather, and the best-marked trails I've seen at any of the Metro Parks I've visited so far!! I took the orange and blue trails, and even with my lousy sense of direction, I never got lost once!! Be sure to see the Three Sisters (now only two...) 550 year old white oaks on the orange trail, and the beautiful Orange Osage Tunnel, a real gem. Can't wait to check them both out in the fall!! Worth a visit... A true gem in the Five Rivers crown!!

Can ride was quick for the shorter 1.5-3hr trip. River was nice and calm and very few people so for me it was perfect. The scenery is nice. There are a few spots that we got stuck but it's part of the entertainment. This was the 1st time we've been here even though we grew up and have lived less than 10miles from here our entire lives. The folks running the show weren't very friendly but maybe they were having a bad day. I did enjoy the peaceful float down the river and then we dropped by Corwin and had lunch and ice cream.

Shoes, containers, phone bags...etc. I happen to forget my waterproof pouch for my phone and had a thought, "Oh, it'll be fine...I won't tip..." Changed my mind at the last minute before we got on the shuttle and man, I am GLAD I did...because when you say, "Oh, I won't tip..." You end up tipping. Thank you RiversEdge for a great time! : )

There is a convenient tent to keep warm next to the rink and a snack shop next to the ticket booth overing hot coco, soft pretzels / nachos and cheese https://www.metroparks.org/ice-rink/ I noticed that I definitely wasn't taking as many risks, but could still skate. I loved bringing my little one, and that there were green plastic skating gliders for beginners. You can rent skates but if you buy your own your feet probably won't hurt after 30 minutes of skating. Nicole had a cramp in one of her feet from the skates she rented.
