We went to stir while out of town on vacation, based on a recommendation. This was a very fun dinner, the establishment was hopping on a Friday night. The ambience is really nice with inside, and outside seating. We stopped at the bar for a drink before dinner and thought that the menu was different and unique. The drinks were very well-made and we enjoyed them. For dinner the service was fantastic in the meal even better. Their macaroni and cheese is different, unique and very tasty. We enjoyed everything from our hamburgers to our steak and salmon bowls. Would recommend and would reach return.

With it highlighting one of its specialties as "oyster bar", kind of automatically (wrongly) assumed there'd be no vegan options here. Another example of "don't judge a book by its cover" experiences. Happened to look at their menu online and saw a "vegan bowl". Knew we had to try it someday. That someday was today. We went between the lunch rush and dinner rush on a Monday and practically had the whole place to ourselves! We asked if they had tofu to add to our bowl, and not surprisingly, they do not. But, that's ok, it's great just the way it is, but having that option would send it to the next level. Our server was Karen and she was super efficient and helpful. It's decorated very modern and has very modern music playing in the background. In good weather, they have outside seating with heaters. For those hoping for non-alcoholic beverages they have mocktails and a non-alcohol beer. The vegan bowl was delicious, yet a little pricey, but expected for this kind of restaurant. We'll be back with friends.

We went to stir for brunch before a Tennessee Volunteers football game (Go Big Orange!). Great atmosphere, really good food and friendly service. We ordered five different entrees, and they were all really good. I ordered the SHRIMP & GRITS, which had mushrooms, green onions, shrimp stock, and white cheddar grits. We also ordered the CLASSIC WAFFLE with housemade malted waffles, 2 scrambled eggs, whipped butter, breakfast syrup, and breakfast potatoes. Both had great flavor. The restaurant has plenty of tables, some high top tables in the center and a full bar on the left side. We will definitely return.

My family had a beautiful lunch at Stir for my daughter's birthday. We went on a Tuesday around 11:30 so it wasn't very busy yet. The hostess warmly greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Omar took great care of us and provided impeccable service. Everything was wonderful from the appetizer to dessert. All of us enjoyed our entrees. I had the Blackened Mahi Tacos. I loved the salsa that accompanied them and the pickled onions were a nice touch. The fries were hand cut and were salted with a course salt but they weren't overly salted. They were so good. I normally just eat a few fries but I think I almost cleaned my plate. Everything was absolutely delicious. Omar brought the chocolate cake out with a lit candle for my daughter which was so nice. It was perfect in every way! We will definitely be back.

Food: When in the south, you must try the shrimp and grits! It was so delicious. Service: Great service! The shrimp and grits were not part of the lunch menu, and they still made it for us! Ambiance: beautiful restaurant. Plenty of seating!

A Knoxville Gem I Can't Wait to Visit Again For the first time in a long time, I handed over the lunch-picking duties -- and my lady friends nailed it. On our drive home through Knoxville, we made a spontaneous stop, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip. We chose to sit outside since we had our pup with us, and the patio didn't disappoint -- spacious, shaded with large umbrellas, and totally dog-friendly. They even brought out a water bowl for our furry companion, which was such a thoughtful touch. That said, I did sneak a peek inside, and wow -- the interior is stunning. Gorgeous bar, flooded with natural light, and high ceilings that made the space feel airy and elegant. Even the bathrooms were impressive -- clean, stylish, and well-kept. Now, let's talk drinks: the cocktail menu was so good that I genuinely struggled to choose. Luckily, with four of us at the table, we ordered a variety and shared sips all around. The Appletini and Whiskey Bramble were the standouts for me, but everything we tried was on point. I'm already planning a return visit just to work my way through the rest of the menu. We kicked things off with the Parmesan White Truffle Fries and East Coast House Oysters. The fries were crisp and rich with flavor -- exactly how you want them. And the oysters? Fresh, clean, and delicious. I'll definitely be ordering those again. For mains, we covered a lot of ground: Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Seared Tuna Salad, Tuna Poke Bowl, and Chicken Piccata. Not a single dish missed the mark. Every bite was full of flavor, beautifully plated, and totally satisfying. It's rare for a group of four to be equally impressed across the board, but this place pulled it off. To top it all off, the team surprised me with a crème brûlée (complete with birthday candle!). If I'm being picky, I'd have liked the sugar top a little crunchier -- but that's splitting hairs. It was creamy, sweet, and a lovely way to end the meal. Special shoutout to our waitress, who was sweet, attentive, and on point with timing -- we never felt rushed and everything came out perfectly paced. Can't wait to go back. If round two is anything like the first, this spot will earn a permanent place on my Knoxville favorites list.

Late birthday celebration with one of my favorite sisters. We sat outside with the puppers and enjoyed the breeze. Our waitress was amazing and even remembered my friend's special day, surprising her with a born day treat! We ordered oysters (fresh and delicious), seared tuna salad, chicken picatta, and tune poke bowl. Everything arrived perfectly - just enough time to enjoy cocktails, conversation and the oysters. The kitchen was on point - our plates were beautifully presented, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Stir did not disappoint. It was in the middle of a weekday, as we were trekking to the airport, so I went in and took some photos of the interior and bar. Gorgeous. Since my lovely friend lives nearby, I see Stir in my future again!

The ambiance is great. I loved the decor. We sat on the patio because we had a huge group and they had heaters which was SO great because it was cold that night. The servers were very attentive and helpful. We got the whipped feta appetizers and that was SO good. For my entree I had the tuna salad and it was ok. It was lacking something, but I can't put my finger on what. My friend had the burger and she said it was really good!

Stir was such a great spot! Incredible gin and tonic and all of our food blew us away. The caesar salad has great flavor, the sesame steak bowl was balanced with an array of flavors and the matcha cheesecake was like nothing we had tried prior. We will be back.

Went to Stir for the 1st time, nice hip and happening ambiance, the salad was amazing, but the beef Bao was a bit too salty. The service was quick and the servers were very friendly.

We celebrated my birthday here tonight. Everything was great as soon as we sat down. I had the smoky Mountain sour which was delicious. We had the lobster crab cakes as an appetizer, which were also amazing. I had the fillet and goat cheese, ravioli my husband had the halibut picatta and we enjoyed them both. And to top it off, we got the free crème brûlée with berries for dessert because it was my birthday! Service was excellent and price is reasonable. The wine was also delicious. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

What a fantastic spot! We came here for brunch on a Sunday morning. They had tons of options, live music, and a brunch bar. They fill up pretty quick so I suggest snagging a reservation on OpenTable. Our waiter was awesome, he was on it and made sure our drinks never ran out. We will definitely be coming back soon!

When we walked in, she glared at us as if we had interrupted something. She didn't greet us, didn't ask what we'd like to try, only gave us one word answers to any question that we asked. Never once smiled or tried to engage us. My friend was so frustrated with trying to get information from her that he stood up and almost walked out. I kept trying to engage her and even complemented her cute dress. Nothing. Stone face. I wanted to try the amaro flight and asked for it. She prepared it, set it in front of me, and said "so you'll want to close out now?" I told her "yes, that would be great, when I'm finished with my tasting". She proceeded to lean up against the bar with her back to us and didn't say another word. I had to get up and walk to the register, and when she finally turned around, I asked her "have we done something to upset you?" She said "no, why?" I said "because you seem REALLY annoyed that we're here". Her only response was to turn the register screen around and tell me the total. I'm so sad about this because I really wanted to taste other items and get a cocktail, but she was SO unpleasant and we felt SO unwelcome., Seeing all of the other great reviews, I can only imagine that they were with other people. We ordered slushies to enjoy on the patio and a flight with Hi Rye Whiskey, Ginferous Gin (favorite!), Uproot Gin, and Barrel Rested Cacoa Liqueur. I can't believe the differing flavors they can produce within the same type of booze. Masterful! The bartenders are friendly and so dang knowledgable. We purchased a bottle of Ginferous Gin and have kept the party going at home. Can't wait to go back! What a cool spot.

We started with the appetizers and ordered some mixed steamed buns and soup. All of the buns that I tried I liked quite a bit - some strong, distinctive flavors. For an entree I ordered the Koji-Cured Ribeye medium-rare - 12 oz sliced ribeye, gai lan, broad bean paste, steamed rice. The steak was cooked perfectly. In fact, word has it that the bar is named after the owners' dog, Monkey, so it makes sense that they pass along their pup love to our community. Note that huge (but very sweet) dogs may be freely roaming and were knocking into people carrying full drinks and begging strangers for food. Also, we were with a group across from the bar and I will say that it was absolutely deafening. We were next to each other and were yelling, "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!?" They could use a few items to soak up some sound like cushions on the bench seating, some rugs, etc. It would also make the space a bit more homey and inviting.

I don't remember exactly which if you get my drift...but I enjoyed each one. Sea bass is my favorite fish and they did a great job with the lavraki, and the orzo pasta was light and buttery. My only criticism would be that the broccolini was still crunchy and could have used more seasoning and the dollop of saffron butter was hardly noticeable unfortunately. I also had a bite of the butter lobster pasta and really enjoyed the richness. I was surprised when the server said they don't make their own pasta because the bucatini was very tasty too. And for dessert, they brought loukomades, or Greek donuts. Very simple in concept but how can you go wrong with frying something, covering it with honey, then dipping in caramel and chocolate.
