Found a bottle online that I could only find locally at museum prices. SRP Pricing and shipped to my door quickly. As someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, even their shipping costs were some of the lowest I've seen at less than $25. I live out of state and was hoping to give my business to small business owners instead of a huge corporations. I go to their Home Page and it says "Free Shipping" . After a long laborious shopping process, I go to check out and have to pay shipping. I call that false advertising. I called and on one cared. I don't recommend anyone shop there. read more

Came in here recently specifically looking for a few bottles of wines for a neighborhood party my close friend Kelly organized. When I came in, I noticed quickly that there were no fresh bottles of wine, in fact several were a few years old. Yes years old ... I asked the service manager if I could have the newest bottle of wine and if there were any that just came in, as this would insure it to be fresh. He sat me down and gave me an educational ( non-condescending) review as to how wine is produced and that wine does in fact age well as the favor/quality does dramatically increase with time. I left with two bottles of wine but more importantly a knowledge of wine (cannot quantify the dollar value) Thank you to the staff for your patience and time spent with me. Sterling Fine Wines is located in a strip mall in the heart of Sterling across from the Shop-rite next to O' bagel and Thai Thai restaurant. This liquor store has many, many rows of wines which are priced very reasonably to moderate, and more expensive. They have large cases all around the perimeter so you can purchase beer, wine, or champagne cold. They really have a nice selection to choose from... The staff is always very friendly and knowledgable when it comes to choosing the right beer or wine, or hard liquor . You can buy wine by the case . If there's something you don't see It can be ordered... Every row is broken down to either red or white wines and the region... In the front of the store they have many empty liquor boxes . I've come here many times when I was in the process of moving and they gave me tons of their boxes to use. It's a great way to recycle . Sterling Fine Wines has decent prices and they beat all the liquor stores in the area. They are always running specials .There is a nice selection of IPAs too.. This is my go to store when I need to get a nice bottle of wine for a gift or find the Grapefruit beer I love.... Best selection and beat price around. My friends will drive all the way from JC to stock up. I myself come here at least once a month. And if you have particular wines they don't have, ask them and they will be able to order for you. Pride is about $2-$3 cheaper than Wine Library or Bottle King etc. read more

Ryan, the manager there, is extremely helpful and his entire staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If this wasnt so far from my house, this would be a staple in my re-stocking-the-wine-rack places.. On many occasions, Ryan and his team have made sure their staff expert has made recommendations- whether it be 3 different wine varietals from 7 different regions around the world, a new bourbon that's been the latest craze, or a rum for a gift I know nothing about. Ryan is kind, patient, and obviously passionate and his team is also fun and energetic- as well as efficient in checking out us with care. There is no other liquor store with prices as low, or staff as friendly/knowledgeable as SFW! Their wine and beer selection is so extensive that we drive 20 minutes out of the way to stock up. Great selection of beer and wines. But be prepared, if you are going directly home to crack open a beer, DON'T, the beer is barely more than room temperature. I've complained and after 2 weeks still the same. I purchased a 6 pack of Stella, for dinner at Thai Thai restaurant next door and had a couple placed in an ice bucket along with my wife and daughters wine. I would NEVER order from this company! I ordered a bottle of brandy from their website on Friday, December 7th. There was NO indication on their website that this was not available. I emailed on Tuesday the 11th and Wednesday the 12th to get a tracking number. I called them on Thursday the 13th as I had received no email. They told me it was out of stock, but coming in the next day and they would expedite it. Tuesday the 18th a woman calls to tell me it is out of stock. When I told her about my conversation, she puts me on hold. Finally, some man tells me he will check into it and call me back. I call back the next day to find out what is going on and am told that they cannot order this brandy - this 12 days after I ordered it. Terrible customer service. read more

Over the last couple years I've watched their selection of spirits explode, too; they're fully aware of the craft distillery movement in the U.S. and their selection (whiskeys, vodkas, gins especially) grows every month along with the industry. My latest challenge was to restock Irish whiskeys--they had all three of the highly-rated mid-priced bottles I wanted to try. This is one of the better liquor stores in the area. They have a huge wine selection - if that is your thing. They also have a ton of different beers and this is the place I usually go to when I am looking for something a little more obscure that I know other places will not have. I especially like that they usually have Sam Adams Octoberfest when it is in season. Prices are pretty reasonable, too. read more

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING TO BE SHIPPED HERE. I ordered one bottle of Hanging Vine 2013 Cab on 7/31/16. I was called a few days later to say that they never had any of the 2013 and it was a mistake on their website and they could substitute the 2014 vintage. They really shouldn't have had it on their website if they never had it in stock but whatever. I told them to ship me the 2014. I then get a call on 8/5/16 that the 2014 isn't in stock but they ordered some so when they get it they'll ship it to me overnight and waive the shipping fee. I called on 8/10 to check and see where it was and it hadn't shipped yet. They told me they'd ship it out that day for next day delivery. I then called on 8/11 and was told it was to be arriving sometime on 8/12 and they would email me the shipping number. It never was emailed to me so I just called now on 8/12 to see ask for the UPS tracking number again and was told it was never shipped (so was I just lied to yesterday??). What a mess. I just cancelled the order and will NEVER do business with this shop again . What a waste of time. read more

DO NOT order from these guys. Very nice on the phone and probably in person but... They do not respond to e-mails. They charge your account before they even have the wine in stock and send it--this is contrary to what they say. Called twice to have the charge removed and it was not. My payment is due and I certainly do not want to pay any interest charges on something I should never have been charged for in the first place.
