I initially got a quote on a 2025 Pilot by the salesman after I provided information on my 2020 Honda CR-V trade in online. He quoted a $560.00 per month payment. I was texting with him and told him my daughter is pregnant and needs a bigger vehicle for having a 3rd child. Also, I did bring up that the 2020 Honda CR-V she drove required a lot of maintenance, has a lot of miles, and may not be that safe anymore. Well, the salesman mentioned that that they were more than likely not going to sell it on the lot and that it will go to auction. That made me think that my daughter go back to that car. Of course that car had negative equity, and we were negotiating on the payment for the Pilot. The payment ended up being higher than expected. Although, my daughter and I decided to go with the purchase of the Pilot thinking that it would not be safe for my daughter to continue driving the other car especially when they were saying it's going to go to auction. When the finance manager had a sign paperwork and add-on the insurance for the car, he even agreed that the other car would more than likely go to auction as well. We only got 14,800 for it. Which $20,000 was owed on it. Now about a week later. Sure enough the CRV is on their lot. Selling for $ $21,400. I I texted the sales manager today and said that I am pissed and that he knows when I'm pissed about. I wanted him to have his manager call me but he ended up calling me back and the sales manager got on the phone. The sales manager was absolutely rude and said that I was the one that brought the car into them; we did not ask you to bring the car in which I don't get why that should matter. They admitted that they were right and did not do anything wrong. He totally denied that they said the CR-V would go to auction. My daughter and I both heard it several times, and the financial manager stated it as well. I just could not believe what I was hearing. The sales manager stated that they put 3800.00 of work into the CR-V which they try to squeeze one in every once in awhile. I thought it was bad enough to go to auction? It just makes me not want to trust them anymore. They lied to us plain and simple. I have been a customer forever with Stirling which I have bought a few cars through them and have brought my cars in for service for a long time. I told the sales manager that I am done being a customer there. It was like he totally did not care and wanted to get rid of me on the phone. I told him that I was going to give them a bad review and then hung up. I had totally had it and do not put up with their shit and games. I can't stand liars! And it is crazy because the sales manager admitted that is what they do; they sell cars. In other words, the customer is last on their list at least the group my daughter and I encountered. Now, we are stuck with almost an $800.00 per month payment due to them stating that the CR-V was auction material. The sales manager said that a vehicle having 132,000 miles on it is going to be bad. That is so not true. It could still be in good condition which there are other vehicles that do just fine with that amount of miles. He was actually putting down his own product. I came in for an oil change and was told that one of my front brake pads was at 6 mm, the other at 2mm, indicating a stuck caliper. They said they needed to replace both calipers and quoted me something like $1,200. I didn't get the work done, and took it to a mechanic I've been working with for years and they said the calipers and rotors didn't need to be done, both brake pads were wearing about the same. They're really upholding the stereotype that mechanics are dishonest. Will never go here again. read more

I walked into the showroom knowing exactly what I wanted. They didn't have the vehicle that I wanted, but they said that they could make another model just like it. I'm not a car expert, and there wasn't enough time to thoroughly look through everything to see how it compared. One of the very important items I needed was a tow package with a 2 inch receiver. The salesman I was working with assured me that they could make it happen. After nearly a month, the added items were installed, but there was a HUGE problem. A tow package with a 1 1/4" receiver was installed. I told the service department that there must be some mistake. They treated my like I was the idiot because they said that Honda doesn't even make a 2" receiver that fits my car. I had a long talk with the salesman that I had worked with, and he did not take any responsibility for the mistake and showed no remorse. I asked if they could take off the tow package and credit me back, and they said they "couldn't" do it. I went to U-Haul to get the correct receiver, but they really struggled with the install because the removal of the incorrect tow package was very difficult due to the poor workmanship by the dealership. All I can say is this... I won't buy another car from Stirling because they are not trustworthy and honest. read more

They drove me to Red Lobster so I could have lunch while they did the services and then pick me up again. Went to Stirling Honda this afternoon just to look at a white 2025 Ridgeline, since I was in contact with dealers in Everett and Bend to buy a red one. We agreed to let them put a deal together which included a 2021 F350 loaded Lariat 4x trade. They came back with a deal we couldn't refuse. Even more amazing is that even with a test drive, we were out of there with the Ridgeline in less 2 1/2 hours! After purchasing two vehicles from them, the service took a bit of time , I picked up the vehicle, and proceeding to head home, after arriving home, I'm a car guy so I decided to check under the vehicle, to find My rear differential dripping with gear oil. They did not tighten the fill bolt, After paying 900$.....I've never seen a shop let alone a big business, have such poor quality with there work...so beware , always check there work... Traded in an old Honda and leased a new one from them. When I worked out the lease agreement, we came to an agreed upon term and payment and from there I added in some accessories. I paid for the added in accessories out of pocket to keep my monthly lease payment at the agreed upon amount. To make a long story short, the accessories I told I was purchasing, at the recommendation of the sales rep, were not all compares or with my car. There were about $700 in added in accessories that I never received. One of the sales managers stated that if I had brought this to him sooner he could have looked in to it and based in what he was seeing in the sales sheet, they actually lost money on the deal. 1. I didn't bring it to them sooner because they didn't realize that it wasn't actually compatible until my scheduled appointment, so had no idea that I needed to bring it to them sooner. 2. I realize I got a great deal - and I'm grateful for that - but that doesn't take away from the fact that I paid for accessories I didn't get and that it was their sales staff that recommended these accessories and in the end had I not paid for the added in accessories at the time if initial sale, my lease payment would still be the same and I'd have another $700. I will say that the service department has been a pleasure to work with and I do believe that the people there are nice. I've had other people recommend this place, but in my experience I feel like I got swindled. I don't think it was intentional and I really do want to give these guys the benefit of the doubt, but when I raised the concern they did not really seem interested in getting to the root of the issue and once they saw that I had already gotten such a great deal at the time of sale they wanted to avoid any additional loss. It just sucks though, cause this has really spoiled my experience with their company and the Honda brand and even though my lease is only 4 months old, I'm already counting down the days until it's over and can get a different vehicle. read more

I bought a used car here that supposedly had been thoroughly inspected. I trust that dealerships do a detailed inspection of cars prior to selling. After just three weeks of having the car, DMV paperwork not even filed, the car started leaking oil, had battery issues, and an odd clicking noise. I called the dealership and was told that I could drive the car an hour up to Stirling and they would be kind enough to inspect it for me at no cost. Any repairs though are on me. Previously, I have bought cars at Toyota and Subaru dealerships that graciously stood behind any issues. Updated: called the owner twice and have not heard back. Toyota inspected my car and found that the oil cooler line had to be replaced, and that Stirling Honda, when they changed the oil, didn't put the oil filter on correctly, so it was also seeping oil. 440 dollars later and two days of my time wasted. Don't buy cars from Stirling or trust their Service work / inspection. read more

Normally I don't like giving a business a negative review because I have been a business owner myself and I know how dealing with the public can be at times.. with that said I feel after much thought that it is imperative to let others potential customers know how you might be treated at this business .. I feel it is so important to treat all your customers with great respect and ethical care.. I was in this establishment this summer (2019) to have my 1998 Honda Accord looked at to see if there was codes or any maintenance that was imperative to do or any repairs... since I had just obtained the car I wanted to have it looked over before I started driving it on a regular basis .. I was so disappointed at how I was treated.. I realize my car is older and I didn't have a brand spanking new car but the comments were unexpected, unappreciated and completely unnecessary.. I wasn't asking them their opinion of my car.. I was told "well it's got a lot of problems it's not a new car you know why don't you just get a new car.. etc etc) FYI I got this old car on purpose for reasons I don't care to explain nor should I have to feel intimidated or judged for by them. I have heard from other Honda owners that they are amazing cars and last a long time... I didn't want a new car or I'd have found a way to get one !! FYI I've had many new cars in my lifetime I'm very fine with not having a new car payment and overpriced insurance rates at this point .. I prefer to spend my extra money on other things like my grandkids!! .. side note maybe you should teach your employees to not be rude to people and insulting them about their cars of choice and just do your job and do it well!!! not everyone can afford a new car and maybe just because they drive an old car doesn't mean they don't have money for a new car, maybe they just don't believe in spending that kind of money for a status symbol! I paid them the fees to look at my car (I felt they were very over priced for what they said they did) I went to pay my bill and the gal overcharged my bank account so I asked her why it was different from what the bill said she re-did the charges and later upon reviewing my bank account I realized I was stuck with a double charge on my account. I was super upset that the double charge kept my account locked up and emptied of $800 dollars until Monday morning when I called them to get it straightened out ! I read the negative reviews about Stirling Honda and we had that same type experience at another dealership. We had almost given up but decided to see what Stirling had. Bear in mind we knew what we wanted, were pre-approved with our bank and were ready to buy so that may have stream-lined the process. The salesman we worked (Colton) with was very friendly, engaging and energetic. They treated us with respect, and we reached what we felt were acceptable terms for the price and value of our trade. I will admit the show room needs to seriously be updated from the 70's decor. They did offer the extended warranties, gap insurance and other adders but it was only offered and details explained as an option but not pushed. I wish I could say that my experience buying a car here was all good, but that is not the case. My wife and I recently purchased from this dealership a 2006 Escalade with 115,000 miles on it. During the test drive, I noticed a slight delay in one upshift of the transmission. I mentioned it to the salesman, but he promptly reassured me that the vehicle had gone through their 50 point inspection and was in top-notch shape. So we proceeded with the buying process. As we were heading in to do the paperwork, my wife asked our salesman if the headphones and the remote for the Escalade's dvd player were with the vehicle. He said they were, and we believed him. We negotiated a bit, made a deal, and my wife took the wheel and drove it home. The next day, the transmission started slipping horribly; so we called Stirling Honda, and they told us to bring it back in. The next day, the service department called and told me that the transmission fluid was low, even though this was an item on their 50 point inspection that should have been checked. The service department agreed to flush all the old fluid from the transmission at my request. When we returned to pick up the vehicle, my wife discovered that the headphones and remote for the dvd player were not in the car. Josh, one of the managers, said to take up our case with our salesperson Tim Mcgraw. My wife called him the next day to confront him with the fact that the headphones and remote that he promised were not there. He then told her to find the price for the items, and he would reimburse her. In the meantime, the transmission started slipping again and went out completely in a matter of days. When my wife called the dealership and told them of this, they said that they could not do anything but install a wrecking yard transmission and charge a discounted labor rate, a solution that would be a band aid at best. After a week of my wife going around in circles with managers trying to get something done about it, I finally called the owner of the dealership personally and appealed to him to help with the cost of the repair since the vehicle left the lot with low transmission fluid levels under the watch of his service department. He agreed to pay a portion of what the new transmission would cost. For this I was grateful, and felt that is was fair considering there was no warranty on the vehicle. Now we return to the headphone and remote issue. The salesman told my wife multiple times that the check was in the mail, and she would receive it in a couple days. Finally, after two weeks of waiting, she called him to get to the bottom of the issue. He began to make excuses and tell her that he did not think it was fair to expect him to pay for them since it had to come out of his commission. He said that after he heard we had received partial compensation for the transmission issue, he now felt that we no longer needed compensation for the other items. My wife tried contacting a manager to resolve the issue, but he was unwilling to follow through. So, the lessons to be learned are do not buy a used vehicle from this company with no warranty, do not count on the 50 point inspection actually being done, and do not count on salesman Tim Mcgraw to keep his word after the sale. read more

BUYER BEWARE I called Sterling Honda in Longview Washington about a vehicle listed on the inner net. I was quoted a price of $13,000. I told them I would take it. How could I proceed? I would send them a check, give them a credit card whatever they wanted. I offered to pay more since I was out of town if necessary as I really wanted the vehicle. I was assured that was not necessary. The price would be the same. They assured me no one had inquired about it and it would be mine as soon as it was through there process as they had just taken it in and it had not been cleaned. I told them I would have a friend from Washington pick it up for me until I could get there to get it considering they did not have room to store the vehicle until I could arrange to get there. (My family has bought 4 vehicles out of state so we knew the common procedure of purchasing out of state. They then called to tell me it had a few dents and they were planning to repair them. I asked what the difference in price would be. They told me $1,000 less. I told them I would rather wait an have it repaired. They told me it would be ready on Friday September 25. I thought that was quite fast as it was just a few days away. They took my credit card number for a deposit to hold the vehicle. I gladly gave them the number. I made arrangement for a friend to pick up the vehicle, purchase plane ticket for myself and a friend to fly to Washington to drive it home to Arizona October 2 about 1:30 pm I called to see how things were progressing. I was told they were just getting ready to contact me as the car was ready to go. The car would be waiting with a 21 day permit ready to drive off. When I asked about the paperwork being sent I was told they could not overnight it due to COVID 19 (I laughed wondering if they refused all mail) there could be germs on the paperwork. They could not email it as had to be originals. Then I was told if I personally was not there by October 3 at 7 pm they would raise the price of the vehicle $1000. I had to have a credit application even though I was paying cash. I also had to wire them the money that day for the vehicle. When I asked about the total amount due because I was expecting the fee for a temporary license or paperwork to be charged I was then told the price was now $14,000 as they had several people interest in the vehicle at that price. I spent the remainder of the day getting to the bank to wire funds, changing flight, rental car, and motel reservations, along with finding someone to go with me to drive home. I arrived at the dealership about 6pm to find they could not put the vehicle in my company name and they could not get a temporary plate to be able to legally drive the van. I was told they were not able to get a temporary plate due to Washington state law. They gave me the name of a third party where I could get a temporary permit the following day after 10. I actually found one that opened earlier and was told the dealership could have gotten a 45 day permit for the same price they were able to sell me one for 3 days and there was no such thing as a 21 day permit. If I weren't so desperate for the exact vehicle they had it would still be sitting on their lot. read more

We were recently in the market for a 2017 Honda Odyssey and, as luck would have it, the 2018s were about to come out (so especially as the '18 was a long overdo remodel, this should have been good for pricing). AND it turned out that Stirling Honda had a leftover NEW 2016 Odyssey on the lot! Needless to say, I was excited to possibly get a great deal. Well, long story short, their pricing was terrible for the 2016 and just ok (not terrible) for the 2017 models. I am not giving them a bad review only for their poor pricing although whoever bought their 2016 model hopefully got a much better price than they quoted me (as I paid significantly less than their 2016 quote for a new 2017). Mainly I just found their use of a kind of tag-team approach with one person 'Sabreena' supposedly the customer-care - or whatever descriptor they used - person and the other 'Nathan' the sales guy frustrating and off-putting. Between the challenge of emailing with more than one person, their use of automated emails which ended up making me feel that the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing (it wasn't like these stated directly that they were automated and therefore fairly generic in content), the fact that they really really were pushing a telephone negotiation which I did not have time for, nor did I wish to engage in, and their poor pricing made me learn that I would not choose to do business with them again. Hopefully this was not typical and that others have had good experiences. For me, however, I'll do my car shopping elsewhere in the future. read more

This poor review is only for the service department. Very poor customer service and no communication. What should have been a 24 hour visit ended up being 5 days. They didn't even do the warranty work I had mentioned many times about my tire that goes low weekly and only one on the scratch shipping scratches got touched up. It's a new 18 Honda Odyssey. Most times when I called I was on hold for 4-5 minutes never having service answer. I DON'T RECOMMEND STERLINGS SERVICE DEPT. Knowing how upset I was I never received a follow up call. Gave an excellent review a few months ago for Stirling. Things have changed. Tom and Liz in service are still amazing. I was leasing a 19 Accord and decided to buy. I wanted to add extended warranty. I was told to come in, which I did. I live approximately 30 miles one way. When I got to Stirling, was told to call the week I paid off car and text odometer reading...which I did. Was told someone was going to call me...no one called. Today, I was talking to Nate in finance who said I'll have to call you back in an hour, I have someone buying a car. That was almost 4 hours ago and no phone call. I've bought a total of 4 Hondas and WAS on waiting list for Accord sport through Stirling. I now have an appt with Capitol Honda for buying extended warranty. Woman I spoke to at Capitol Honda said warranty only takes a few mins to do. Nate, make sure you tell you boss and owners of Stirling how they lost a customer. By the way, I'm planning to upgrade my pilot in a few years. Now you've lost 2 brand new vehicle sales all because you didn't call me back. Hope the person you had to help finance a car and couldn't finish selling me warranty will be a repeat Honda owner...wouldn't count on it. read more

I saw an add for a Ford explorer. Researched price seemed close to reasonable for market. upon getting the car had been serviced and looked over but not detailed due to being "backlogged" ok this was understandable and I was given an I owe you... reasonable. drove the car the next day noticed a shake in whole vehicle when put in reverse. 4 days later the car was brought in, and accepted for power train warranty and told it is undrivable. after daily communications with the service lady who is very good at her job and my car being sent to Ford I finally got a estimated date for fix. this was day 7, day 7 in a small Honda loaner. I'm told the parts are backlogged - ok reasonable but I had my car for only 5 days. this wait is WEEKS out and it's still not detailed let alone im in a much smaller vehicle. I'm in tears, this car was not inspected as told. I want out, or some sort of help or better customer service. "big manager" wants to talk and tells me I can't have my car back because they have already serviced it, WOW within days it's cleaned detailed and ready for sale? but im sold a undrivable car! yes I agreed to purchase a used vehicle, this man though offered me to trade it in but "you won't like the prices." ARE YOU KIDDING ME his tone and sheer condescending behavior was embarrassing. I mentioned tone, and he said listen to yours as im holding back tears. all I wanted was some better understanding. some option? I purchased this car for better family experience and travel. and I get a tiny Honda with no options for anything on the vehicle. you guys got me into your own financial institution and I preffered not to. stirling honda does not follow through for customers and does not apparently expect return ones. read more

My experience was beyond dreadful! I knew what I wanted and didn't need any "selling" as I had already made up my mind beforehand though I was just checking to see if this dealership had the model with the features that I wanted. The sales person, Ruben, tried to tell me that the color (without the features) was on sale because they wanted to "get rid of civics." It clearly wasn't on sale from the sticker so I could immediately tell he was deceitful though I didn't anticipate everything that followed. He lied about scuffs inside the car being guaranteed to come out during the detail. The car was new with 25 miles though it looked as though someone had been driving it for a week. There was hair everywhere, dust, scratches, and lint throughout. I had it taken back to the detail area 6x in total to be told that there is nothing they can do for me about the condition, regardless of what I was told (I wasn't concerned about something I could vacuum myself, but it was an obvious indication that no effort was put into removing the scuff marks). He said the "good detailer" would get it out, but that he was off for a few days. This "good detailer" could not remove the marks. I spoke with the manager and general manager who were beyond atrocious. Aside from the condition, after I signed my paperwork, Ruben hit on me for a co-worker followed by telling me to "tell him he's a puss for not doing it himself." When I informed the general manager, Scott, he insinuates that I asked for it, when I had zero idea who this co-worker even was. Ruben also made promises about interest rates when clearly that's not his role. I was not approved for what he said and was told by the finance person, Nate H that my credit would be pulled once and sent to creditors. Days later I get numerous letters in the mail telling me that I have had a total of 8 inquiries and that my fico dropped from 712 to 651 in the process. I had to sign a second agreement since the rate had changed and I was told "that's the only difference" yet when I got home there was a $3,000 discrepancy between the two. Nate also commented as I was leaving that everyone there had been watching me because I didn't look old enough to buy a car, which seemed inappropriate to add after he had just ran my credit and could clearly see how old I am. Afterwards, I received 3 phone calls and 2 texts from Ruben asking if he could come by my home to have me sign a form that they "forgot to have me sign." The way I was talked to by every person that I interacted with there was so belittling and disrespectful, with the exception of the women, one of whom commented that she'd also recently been sexually harassed by a sales person there. The first time that I tried to work with the general manager his first sentence to me was "You've been talking for 3 minutes and 25 seconds now. What's your point?" My point is that your service is appalling, your workers are unethical, and that this business is operating at a highly unprofessional level. read more
