Studied at S.U. for about six years now. It's awful, and known to be awful. The biggest university in terms of student-population, and as is so often the case with over-populated places, they aren't that way as a result of a high standard.
It's known since at least the 80:s for academical incest, teaching using only literature from within the university itself, even if there is far more adequate literature available, refusing any cooperation between institutions (potentially highly relevant when writing a thesis), and so on.
There is also no cooperation, or even communication, between courses within programs, or even between subcourses within courses. Subjects that are supposed to connect are largely unrelated, and at least within the teacher-programs, very few of them have anything to do with the program itself.
During these six-something years I've studied under lots of researchers, and with the exception of a handful, they have all been... special cases... culture-figures. Incompetent.
Not at their subjects, but at everything else. It's a different story with all of them, but in most cases it comes back to playing power-games with their students.
Administration is generally very friendly and helpful, but dysfunctional, with the main website being a mess, affiliated sites not working, and so on.
The southern houses are covered with plates of milky, vomit-green/gray plastic plates. WHY?!
I could go on. I have so many stories. I will not.
If you consider taking a course held by a researcher named "Fritzell", don't. He deals with pedagogics. Stay away from him, if you value your soul.
