Two words: GREAT SCHOOL!....have fully read d other reviews for this school n honestly its sad to read what parents or family members have to say....I'm sure it was ntt that negative! ....my daughter has been attending this school since kindergarten, now 6th grader :/ I have only good things to say....my daughter is now in d gate program n her test scores have gone up drastically, I've been able to go to almost all her field trips, supervision its there at all times ( I know because I do my walk through once in a while ), my daughter has never complain about rude teachers n principals, all the teachers/aids/office personnel have been great all these years....principal is great too ( he participates on every event d school has, even if he has to shoot some hoops with d children), our back to school nights n open house r great here,.... About d other reviews, dont know what they r talking about, the website its updated, n you can see everything that is going on...school also sends out a monthly bulletin with all that will go on for the month! Unfortunately, there r parents that don't make time to find out what's going on. I would ntt wait to see when I will b getting a respond. ..as a parent, you need to go check it out, joind pta n care about your child's daily curriculum. I am extremely disappointed with the way this school handled a bullying incident involving my child. My toddler was bullied by another student, 3 times this school year. His speech is delay makes him more vulnerable, why other kids take advantage of him. And instead of taking the situation seriously and showing concern for his safety and well-being, the response from administration felt dismissive and unprofessional. As a parent, it is heartbreaking to see your child afraid to return to school because he no longer feels safe in his classroom. No family should feel ignored when reporting repeated issues involving their child. Schools should create a safe, supportive environment for students, especially young children. I hope the administration takes bullying concerns more seriously in the future and improves communication and accountability with parents. read more

I am writing this review to share a very serious safety incident that occurred involving my four year old son, who has autism and was enrolled in the special education program at Stoddard Elementary. My son started school on Monday, January 12, 2026. His first week seemed to be going well until Friday, January 16, 2026. During pickup, parents are required to go directly to the classroom due to the students special needs. When I arrived to pick up my son, he was not in the classroom and was unaccounted for. His teacher did not know where he was, and at that point we realized he was missing. Multiple adults were present in the classroom at the time, yet no one had noticed that my son had left. We searched and eventually found him alone and unsupervised on the playground, wandering by himself. Thankfully, he was found safely, but this was extremely alarming given his age, diagnosis, and the fact that he requires close supervision. This situation could have ended very differently. Due to this incident, we made the decision to immediately remove our son from this school. While staff were notified, the lapse in supervision was significant and unacceptable for a special education setting where safety should be a top priority. I am sharing this to inform other parents, especially those with children who have special needs, so they can make fully informed decisions. read more

Love my kids school! My husband went to this school now my children are ! The only thing I was concerned was the playground , it would get to hot during summer the past years now in 2024 our kids got a new playground with shade ! That's a big change that was made for the safety of our children ! So many great teachers ! This school is the best ever! The place is quite spacious from what I could tell when I first came here. The architects who designed this place must have good tastes. The teachers here are amazing. What's so amazing is that there's a park close by here. Families could come here whenever and whatever they want to. read more

THE SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE. the teachers do not care about you, yet they make you feel unsafe and unwanted. students are racist and sexist, also very bad behavior. principals do not care about what you need to say whatsoever. if you tell your teacher about a problem they are NOT going to do anything about it yet just sit back and do nothing. the school makes you feel unwanted and not cared about your mental health yet they taught the students about this. sometimes staff prioritize some students over other as well which is not fair at all. all students should be treated fairly. the principle sometimes only listens to one side of the other from just one student and assume the whole story at the end, which is unprofessional and not ok. both side of the story is always needed! schools need to make students feel safe, trusted, and make them have respect for others, such as teachers, principals, and other students, which this school does not have the ability to protect the student. the school also does not care about the student when they are getting s3xual harassed, which is unacceptable! a child being touch and a principal not doing anything about it is also super wrong and not ok at all, a school is where students should learn what not to do or what to do, not a place where they can't be heard. this school is very bad and not a safe place for students. read more

This school use to be really good, but has recently, due to a new principal, gone down. I, along will all my siblings, came to this school from k-6. My little brother is there now as a fifth grader, but my parents have decided to take him out a year early and send him to another school. If your little one comes to this school make sure to inform yourself and constently be involved. My brothers teacher moved him from the class for two months and never once did she mention it to us. My little brother just mentioned it recently and thats how we found out. I feel bad for the children who will come to this school so long as Dr.Hellyer is there : / read more

Sadly.... I have to say I have experienced better for my son's education.... and he's only in 1st Grade!! I don't know what to do exactly. I have emailed the school principal about my concerns and all I got back was a "we'll have our website updated shortly, sorry for the delay" ... that was 2 months ago and its not even updated yet! Last year we moved in the middle of the school year, something no mother would want to do to her children, but ... life happens and you have to do what you have to do. We came to this school .... a school that has a uniform requirement (which was no big deal since we came from a uniformed school) ... but this school is different.... we show up and every single child is in street clothes. No set colors, no set standards of dress, nothing. I dont have a problem with street clothes, just pick uniforms or not one way or another and stand by it. I asked if the kids were supposed to be wearing uniforms... they told me "yes, its our policy" ..... Well who the EFF is supposed to enforce it? I have a problem with a school setting rules and not following through with them, how the hell is my child supposed to learn about following guidelines and respect for rules when they cant enforce a simple policy of dress code? One time he came home crying late in the year last year... he said his teacher mocked him and mocks the class sometimes. Being that he was so young I thought to ask him, "How did she mock you? Whats mocking?" ... and he told me of a story of the class trying to say something aloud and she copied their voice in a mean way saying they were wrong. This was in May and June - well after he was there for a few months, and now he is coming home crying and saying this?? I was wondering what was going on, what happened? I found out the teacher I knew he was happy with ended up leaving two weeks prior to this incident because she was a student teacher and her time was up. I didnt even know he was being taught by a student teacher until this because the school doesnt bother telling you this, and now that I find out he was -its his reg teacher who is being mean to a bunch of Kindergartners? Summer comes and goes and I see nothing in the mail regarding what to expect, or what class or teacher he will have for this year in 1st Grade. They gave no flyer or newsletter at the end of the school year saying what to expect or when the office will be reopened. So I go to the school website.... NOTHING! I could make a better website! They have nothing filled out, just links that go no where and tell you nothing. Literally, nothing! I can't find info on teachers that teach my child - they give links to the individual teachers, but when you click on it - its just blank- nothing is filled out. There is no enrollment information. The calendar year, holidays, and events were from last year and the year before that, nothing on the current school year. And the links to have a "combined home and school relationship" are articles from 2001- before my son was even born!!! Their last school newsletter was from 2008 (ITS now the 2011-2012 school year!!!) You can just tell they dont give a shit about the Home-school gap, and working with parents. Its really quite sad. I called the school about a week and a half before the 1st day of school to find out something about what to expect ....- and its the same damn answering machine message as when the school year is in. It rings and rings and says to call back between the hours of business. It literally felt as if everyone just got up at 3pm on the last day of school, and left their desk with no worry or thought to the next school year. I understand budget cuts, and I understand that there is low funding to send a newsletter to everyone. But how hard is it to update the answering machine to: "Its summer time! Stoddard will be back to office hours on this date between these hours. Please call back then. Looking forward to the coming year!" The only reason this review is two stars and not one is because the First grade teacher he has this year .... So far she seems to be great. I hate how the school is run as far as policy and lack of an authoritative figure to enforce them, the website is beyond lacking to say the least, the lady with blonde hair in the front office is snappy and mean most of the time as if she cant stand her job, and the school does NOT do a good job communicating or building a bridge between home and school life. I have tried to do my part- and will continue... but its so hard when you have no help from the school ... really sad too. I hope to get transferred to another school this next year - maybe a school in Garden Grove as we live right on the border of Garden Grove and Anaheim. - a truly disappointed parent. read more
