However, our selected piece broke in the warehouse a few weeks prior to installation and King Stone installed a different piece (of the same pattern) for our countertop without asking/telling us. It wasn't until we noticed the difference that we found out about our piece breaking. We would have been understanding about the accident and happy to come back in to select another piece, but the way the situation was handled was very frustrating. Ali has not returned our messages, apologized, or addressed our concerns. Moreover, communication about scheduling the measuring/installation was less than ideal, we went a week without a response then had a 20 minute notice when they showed up for installation. The workers (who were very friendly and did a great job) had the completely wrong customer information as well (thought I was an 80 year old woman who "was always home"). The countertop is a custom fit and looks great in our bathroom, but the fact that it was not the piece we chose and this whole experience left a bad taste in our mouth. Overall it was a very unprofessional experience and unfortunately we would not do business with them again for our future projects.

From our first contact with Jason (sales) to the final inspection with Erik (Production Manager) the entire project and finished product is EXCELLENT. Jason LISTENED to everything we desired for our new kitchen and submitted a design and proposal that, after a few minor tweeks, met our requirements and budget. Jason and Erik visited our home, reviewed the drawings, made some suggestions, and set an approximate start date. When working with a contractor communication is a primary requirement. We were constantly updated on start dates, daily and weekly planning, daily progress, and any minor delays. Any questions we had were responded to with specific answers, not generalities. Prior to the project commencing, Erik introduced us to David (project manager) who informed us of the procedures and the temporary inconveniences we would be experiencing. The renovation began on schedule. David coordinated the entire project with his team, John and Dan (plumbers), Vern (electrician), Fred (painters), and Max (delivery and cleanup), all who did everything to make this process as unimposing as possible. As each day concluded, the area was cleared and cleaned. We now have a beautiful new kitchen. Kitchens By Design's staff and attention to detail are a hallmark for other companies to emulate.

They do not honor their warranty!…read more Background: I had Granite Transformations resurface my cabinets in Centerville, OH in early 2021 and they did a fine job at the time. 2 of the cabinets near the stovetop have since warped due to normal cooking (despite using the vent fan while cooking). Since these cabinets are under warranty, I called to get these replaced. The company stated that since a heat shield isn't installed, they won't honor the warranty. (At the time of installation, there was never a mention of the need for a heat shield.) This seems to be a case where the company looks for any excuse to perform warranty work. I would AVOID Granite Transformations at all costs!

Shoddy work with corners cut. They chipped the corner of granite beside the stove and filled it in…read morewith some sort of acrylic that is yellowish orange. Called and complained, no resolution. Our under mounted sink was attached to the granite with silicone & spare chucks of granite. No clips or screws or wire slings were used to hold the sink in place or support weight. 18 months after install, the silicone no longer held the sink up it fell leaving a 1 inch gab between the sink & countertop. The skin is freely floating by plumbing only. When we called requesting repair/correct installation was asked for photos & address. Both were sent, still waiting on a return call.... Very disappointed, I'm regretting going with Emannuel granite opposed to paying $500 more and getting a professionally installed product without defects. After having a few other companies look at the counter/sink for repairs was told that counter was installed incorrectly. The counter should have had a groove ground in underneath for the lip of the sink to rest in. Additionally, the installation by Emannuel Granite didn't include the metal sling(s) to support the weight. The repairs cost $350. In the end, I saved $150, but also had to take extra days off work for repairs & still have a chip off the corner that's filled in with yellowish-orange acrylic that is a eyesore. If I had to do it all over, I'd went with a more reputable company and paid a little extra in the beginning.
