I ate on the tavern side at the bar top, amd was able to sit right away. Bar tender gave plenty of recommendations on popular items and I landed on a smash burger and fries. The "smash" doesnt look like the quite finished. It was a "nearly smashed" burger. It doesnt seem as though the burger wasn't seasoned at all and the fries were also unseasoned. It seems like they're relying on the sauce (which was quite good) to add flavor to the meat, but the beef itself was bland. After adding salt, the fries were fine. The bun to beef ratio was also way off. My patty was maybe 1/2 the size of the burger. All in all the tavern was cool, but I probably wouldn't order another smash burger. read more

I really wanted to like this place as it looks amazing. It's a beautiful building inside and out. We each got the "Build your own Chicken Sandwich". Fried with the house sweet heat sauce and lettuce. What came was fried chicken with buffalo sauce. When I asked the waitress about the sauce - they said "I put sweet heat on the ticket!". Then I asked for a side of ranch and blue cheese for it - because that's what you have with buffalo sauce, right? The chicken was so dry - good thing I had the blue cheese and ranch to help. Well, it didn't really help. It was way too dry to get it down. Waitress said I should have told her sooner, she would have brought out another sandwich. I am not sure that I want to come back to try anything else here as it was not a good experience in a few areas - food and service. The food here is amazing! I have been coming here since the place opened and I can tell the core of this spot for house made delicious cuisine has not changed. Have prices changed? Yes. Gas is no longer 99 cents a gallon and a plate of scallops went up in the same way. Quality of food is not the issue, bartenders make good drinks and managers keep the place running. Tidy and wonderful the ambiance is a chilled out New England tavern on one side, and white glove classic service on the public house side. Drinks are good and reasonable. Why this local institution and favorite is at less than 3 stars on here is beyond me; maybe the inmates have finally taken over the yelp asylum? Great local spot! read more

When we arrived on a Sunday around 6;30,only the tavern side was open. There was no one there,then suddenly the 'hostess' and 2 waitresses pop up from the floor behind the hostess station and apologized-not a great first impression. My husband got the turkey dinner and it was straight from the 'fridge cold-the 2nd time it was better,but not hot. My salmon was tasty and hot. When we were seated, we selected our course meal. For my meal, I got the scallops wrapped and bacon, a house salad, and the surf and turf. The food was really good and the outdoor patio was a great atmosphere with live music. However, the bartender working was extremely inappropriate. I was sitting at the bar with my boyfriend last night and he repeatedly came over to us to tell us "jokes"... however his "jokes" were graphic and perverted, one about a priest molesting young boys and another about sexually assaulting a women. I told the bartender straight to his face that I didn't find that funny, but he ignored me as if he had a right to make me uncomfortable when I'm just trying to enjoy my dinner? Went to Stoneforge Tavern and Publick House in Raynham for lunch outside. They were finishing up some outside work on the patio where we were seated, not ideal to have spray paint can fumes heading your direction. My sister and I got the whipped fetta for an appetizer it was served with warm pitas and very good. We both ordered a Lobster Roll for our meal. It looked delicious but the taste was not good and the meat had hints of grey in it. We asked if it was frozen or maybe just bad, she took it back to the kitchen after asking if we wanted anything else. We declined the offer and received the check. Both meals had been removed. We definitely won't return for another visit as we have tried this place a few times and never been impressed. read more

Why so much lambasting and hating on STAPH? It's a five-star for the food and this makes up for peccadilloes that are common at a "tavern" establishment. This is not fine dining as it's a "tavern" but that's OK... Let's peep out some deets: The area is quite komfy n' kozy with dark wood and well decorated and is carpeted but it is still quite loud due to its non-fine dining nature and casual patrons. We ordered Scallops Wrapped in Bacon. Six pieces en todo. Teenie but hot n' krisp n' delish with "a maple glaze" (ghetto-type syrup -not all-natural syrup but it took care of business nonetheless). We had ordered an Old Fashioned and a Rum Punch. These took quite some time and arrived well after our app came and only after "reminding" the waiter that out cocktails were MIA. This was peccadillo number one. The drinks were good tasting though. We decided to YOLO it and get a second app being the Clams Casino. This app was mental. Totally delish and hot as hell as it came out from the broiler sizzlin' in a metal clam-shell shaped platter. To die for were these buttery puppies. A truly Class A dish here left us on Cloud 9 for quite some time. Moey ordered a 60-buck-chuck bottle of Prisoner Cab from Cali. We asked for a decanter, but the waiter was stymied. He never heard of a decanter and apparently the tavern ain't got none either. Moey even asked the manager but to no avail. Peccadillo number two. Our mains were the Bourbon Blue Cheese Filet Mignon Tips and the Braised Short Rib. Each came with choice of two sides. Moey got Mashed and Brocklee and I got Fries and Slaw. Very delish. No complaints at all but these were the pricier mains at about 30 bucks a pop. Note: Sides are wicked basic but you may get "Premium" Sides for an upcharge if you are so desirous. There was a groop of doods at an adjacent table who appeared to be "on business" and ordered up a storm including a 100-buck-chuck bottle of wine. They were enjoying it from... wait for it... wait for it... a DECANTER. Hello, McFly?! Peccadillo number three. We went YOLO a final time and got dessert (Chocolate Mouse) and two after-dinner libations. 200 hundred bucks was quite fair for this dinner minus tip. It was a lengthy chillaxing time and we left quite satisfied. BTW, even though this is a "tavern" they actually have Dom Perignon and some very fine wines and they even have Louis XIII Cognac at 140 bucks an ounce. Door dash prices for the food are absolutely outlandish, they do not give forks and knives, food is mid at best.

Unfortunately this was one of the WORST dining experiences I have ever encountered. The Manager Avery ruined our evening visiting our daughter with her unprofessional, nasty, demeanor. In addition the food was horrible, cold and inedible. Truthfully I have NEVER had such a horrible experience in 6 decades. She has NO customer service skills or presence and the establishment should really investigate her dealings with the public as she has ruined your restaurant. Would NEVER go back and will certainly tell others of our distasteful experience and food. what a shame we have eaten there before and the publick house and it was fine. For dinner I ordered the Pistachio Encrusted Swordfish- pistachio butter encrusted swordfish with lemon arugula risotto. Stoneforge Tavern has multiple locations but we went to the one in Raynham. I really liked the atmosphere there because they have a bar tavern area as well as a separate dining room. My meal started off with lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was ok, not the best I have tasted but it did have a few pieces of lobster in it. I wouldn't get the lobster bisque again but I would try the Clam Chowder. The Pistachio Encrusted Swordfish was very good. I really liked the pieces of pistachio in the butter sauce. It gave the dish a nice little crunch. The swordfish was cooked well. I wish it was a little more flakey but the taste was good. The swordfish mixed with the risotto had a nice fresh flavor as well. I was with a group of people and they all were happy with their meals. This Tavern has enough on their menu that you could go back a few times and try a few different dishes. Overall I would go back to this restaurant! read more

Where do I begin... came here on a busy Saturday without a reservation and had to wait which was completely understandable. We were told it would be about 35 mins to get a seat, yet an hour goes by and no one comes by and tells us anything so we ask and the hostess says "maybe we can sit you at that empty table over there, let me ask and we'll let you know ". 15 minutes goes by and no one says anything about the empty table. Finally after a few more minutes we get a table. Once we get seated a waitress comes and takes our drink order and after getting our drinks in a good timely fashion I felt like the night would be much better after the long wait... I was completely wrong! I finished my drink and wanted a beer so I asked the waitress for an appetizer and beer... I waited almost 25 minutes for a beer... 25 minutes! Yes I do think this place was understaffed, but at this point in the night there were empty tables so there's no excuse for this to happen. I was completely done with this place! Not too mention all food items I ordered were lukewarm. The ONLY highlight of this place is the outdoor music! I won't write off this place completely as it could've been the waitress was having an off night, but I will say this place has this reputation of being slow, and understaffed and it very much still lives by that reputation! read more

This restaurant has been around a while and made it through the pandemic. One side is a pub, and the other side is a bit more upscale. There is also a dining room for events upstairs. Outside is a large fireplace, and a patio where you can dine in warmer weather. While it has a good selection of food and drinks, I find that the service and food are not always consistent in quality. In my last visit for lunch, the pub side was not especially busy yet the service was slow . We asked for water with lemon, and got plain water. It was several minutes until we received 2 very small wedges of lemon--not the size that one could squeeze. To me, details matter. On other occasions, I have enjoyed their Caesar salad, and the fish tacos. I will return to Stoneforge again. read more

Update** We came back today and we wanted to eat semi-quickly (or at least at a normal rate) to get to bed. We've been here for over 2.5 hours and we just now finished our food - it has been a painful wait for every single one of our drink orders AND our food order. The lobster tail was absolutely disgusting this time - WAY too sweet and did not taste fresh whatsoever. I ended up dumping over half the lobster out and only eating the bread and lettuce. Now we won't be coming back... either the first review was a fluke or this is a fluke, but I don't care to find out. *** I don't know why everyone is so picky in the reviews and honestly it caused us to be hesitant. We are from out of town and absolutely loved it! Our waitress was amazing and very quick as well. The staff was extremely kind and we had no issues whatsoever! We had a reunion dinner at Stoneforge with old friends from Memorial Hospital of RI -- some of whom we hadn't seen in six years. The food was good although I mis-ordered and got the calamari app which was rings and no tentacles and too much fried food for me. I should have gotten the Caeser salad, my go-to. Everyone else enjoyed their food and they gave us a nice semi-private booth so we could catch up and everyone could hear. Ordered a bottle of champagne which the server did not know how to open. I ordered the stuffed mushroom app and tuna special for entree. Stuff mushrooms came looking unappealing. No proper presentation. They tasted like they were previously frozen instead of fresh made. Tuna was delivered cold and server was nowhere to be seen. Very disappointing. Husband had calamari app with prime rib which he described as very average. Prime rib was sort of warm at least but not warm as expected. Overall disappointed in meal although we have always had a good meal in Tavern side. Reviews for Tavern side would be a Four Star but Publik House a One Star. I've been to the Easton location many times. But the Raynham experience was terrible. We waited over 15 minutes for our server to make 1st contact with our table. I ordered a drink special, the server spilled half of the drink on his serving tray along with spilling the olive oil for our bread. The server seemed very flustered and timid. To make matters worse, I choked on a long piece of hair that was hidden in my drink. I ordered the Tavern Burger - the hamburger meat had no seasoning not even a touch of salt or pepper. The burger was ok, nothing special. Jorge ordered the Buffalo Mac and Cheese - he said it was good and helped clean out his stuffy nose from allergies. Stephanie ordered the Stoneforge Steak Tips- she said the steak tips we okay , not pleased with the string beans. Overall good tips. Anthony ordered the grilled turkey tips w/ stoneforge bbq sauce- he said the turkey tips were good, the tips could have had some more seasoning. This is really two restaurants in one. You have a more upscale dinner house but the tavern is a louder and less stuffy atmosphere. My new boss loves it here and we enjoyed the ambiance and service on the tavern side. Service was quick and friendly but the food was only so so. For appetizers, the coconut shrimp was burnt but the oysters were quite good. My seared ahi was a decent choice but their version of Brussels sprouts (at an up charge) were shredded.
