I've been coming to Stonehouse for two years since I moved here, and my experiences have gotten progressively worse. The food is great, but the service is God awful and embarrassing. My friend group and I are local students and we are definitely treated like the bottom of the barrel customers. We always make a reservation, are polite as always, and tip well. However, last time we went, we waited 2 hours for our food with little/no apology while tomahawk steak we're being delivered left and right to more expensive-looking older adults around us. We were incredibly disappointed with the management as nothing was done to rectify our situation. It is such a shame that one of the four nice restaurants in this town thinks they can act like a 5-star restaurant in Vegas. For a small town restaurant, you should value and treat your customers with respect and good service. I will never be coming here again. read more

Brunch was fantastic. Good service until they got swamped by the noon rush. It wasn't really the servers fault, she was taking care of about 6 tables by herself. The food was delicious and Bloody Mary's were great. Looking forward to trying the lunch and dinner menu. I live out of town now but when I came to see family and go out to dinner with my Dad and sister, we decided to go here for my sister and my birthday dinner. It was good! Steaks were great. I had the t-bone which was tender but slightly undercooked ( no biggie, tasted fine ). The mashed potatoes are wonderful! I had a cocktail and my sister had the lemon drop martini. Both were delish! We shared the mixed shrimp appetizer (shrimp, crab cakes) which was very good. Everything turned out nice and tasty. Our waiter was awesome and explained all about the history of the building and the cuts of meat so we could understand what we were in for. I'd definitely come back! read more

Can't tell you about the food. Didn't hang around. Had one guy who was waiting about six tables (one was an 8-top). He was also trying to be the hostess. The guy was completely in the weeds. When you have all the walls, floors, and ceiling as hard surfaces and have one big room, the acoustics are like a basketball gym. This is obviously a place where the local wannabe rich ladies go to be seen. The final straw was there was a note on the reception desk that someone was a jerk and it was underlined several times. This used to be our favorite place to come for a relaxing evening. I have to admit, we haven't been here in several months but I'm not sure what has happened but the service and food were so disappointing. The service was very slow, beer would sit on the bar for a long period of time and served in a warm glass. We ordered the loaded chips to start, they were very greasy and under cooked. My wife ordered the fish and chips, no flavor in the fish. I had the pork chop, it would have been great if it had been hot. There were a total of five in our party and everyone said they wouldn't come back. The plus is it's very clean and decorated beautifully. The owner was here this evening. She didn't approach one table, wore jeans, an oversized shirt, tennis shoes when most of the crowd was wearing their best business casual. Anyone can tell the dinner crowd has decreased greatly, see pictures. If I was the owner, I would be doing everything possible to ensure people were enjoying their meal, service was running smoothly, instead of sitting outside drinking a Bloody Mary and talking on her phone. We were in the area looking for a good steak and man did we find it. The 14 oz. Ribeye was great, the veggies that came on the side were the bomb and we even did dessert. Another local place that charges too much for too little. Wife and I went there for dinner, hoping to find a new place to "dress up" and go out. We ordered some stuffed mushrooms to start: $12 for two soggy, overcooked mushrooms filled with some sort of sausage and buried under too much cheese. With those disappointments done, we gamely ordered the spinach dip, thinking that would be hard to mess up. Wrong again. The "dip" was a mass of overcooked spinach in a bowl, served with things that looked like pita chips but weren't crispy or crunchy at all. Dipping them in the spinach bowl gave you a mouthful of mush. Gross. I was ready to leave, but my wife convinced me to stay and try a main course. We decided to split the Roasted Chicken, again thinking it would be hard to screw up, and unwilling to pay for two dishes that might both be bad. Chicken came out bone-in -- a good sign, as that usually means it's going to be juicy and flavorful -- but with half the meat already cut off :/ So the meat was not only bland -- this place needs to discover salt -- but completely dry. Since the sides were a mix of overcooked and undercooked vegetables, with some odd-tasting sauce on them, the mistake of cutting the chicken off the bone ruined the one piece of properly cooked food on the plate. Again I wanted to leave. Again my wife (aided by our server, who was frankly awesome through all this) prevailed on me to stay and try something else. We went for the salmon. We make salmon at home, we know it's quick, it's tasty, it's also hard to screw up. Well, they managed it! First of all, the piece of salmon was huge. Easily twice the size of a regular portion. Unfortunately, they hadn't bothered to take out the blood line from the fish, nor had they been able to evenly cook such a large piece. There was one end that was perfectly cooked. The rest was either so over it was almost burned or so under I was afraid to eat it. There was more meat around the blood line that might have been cooked well, but we'll never know. Our server explained that they're a new restaurant, still finding their legs. I hope they do, and we can come back and have a good meal. Until then, stay away: this place charges fine dining prices, but makes worse food than you can do yourself at home. read more

First of all, the food is great. We went there for brunch. I recommend trying it. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because the music of choice when we were there was some kind of Third Eye Blind Pandora station that was at a pretty excruciating volume level. This wouldn't have been that big of a deal, but when we asked each of the servers if it could be changed or turned down, the bartender/manager refused. It killed the atmosphere, and that still wouldn't have been so bad, but apparently we hurt the bartender/managers feelings when we acknowledged his inability to fit a music style to a restaurant atmosphere, and he decided to intentionally take 20 minutes to make mimosas (at least 20 minutes...we told them to forget it after that long because we watched him dragging his feet on making them, cleaning glasses and making drinks for people who sat down at the bar long after we had ordered). It's a shame that a single employee could drag a rating down so much. I guess it is what it is. Maybe we'll make it back for dinner on one of his off nights. read more

This place is awesome and the staff is top notch. The Risotto Balls were tasty and it could be a main course as they were perfectly cooked. The BBQ burger was Killer! This place has seriously good food. The person I was with had the Chaffee Club and it must have been great also as there was not a bite left on his plate. The server was on top of things and the person who sat us was friendly and made recommendations. I've been a regular at Stonehouse since they opened. My partner and I went there during their Sake sushi pop-up promotional night (March 8, 2023) and had a pretty unremarkable experience. Before that evening, we had noticed on social media that the restaurant was 100% booked for the evening we were planning to be there. This in and of itself was not a problem except that the restaurant did not appropriately plan for the number of guests ordering sushi. After arriving at 7:00, eating a small appetizer and one entree off their main menu, we sat for over 1 hour waiting for our Sushi to be delivered to the table. Eventually at 9:00 we gave up and paid for the little bit of food that we had received at that point. The staff did apologize and offered us a gift card, but this experience was very unlike any we had ever had there before. I believe poor planning on the part of the restaurant led to this situation and I hope that it will be rectified in future promotional nights. read more

My husband and I stopped by Stonehouse for lunch on a Friday afternoon. There weren't too many folks there, though it did seem popular with the "ladies who lunch" crowd, if you follow my meaning... Anyway, the interior was very charming. The lunch menu is rather... brief, so not a whole lot of options available for you to choose from. That was a little surprising. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they were excellent! Nice-sized mushrooms and the cheesy, creamy filling was a unique flavor that I enjoyed. My husband got the shrimp and steak fried rice and was hugely impressed with it. I enjoyed my meatloaf sandwich, though I wasn't a big fan of the caramelized ketchup on the meatloaf. I was also surprised at how inexpensive lunch turned out to be with an appetizer and two entrees. I would like to give them a try for brunch and dinner, though I know the pricing will likely be different. Overall, I thought this place is a nice addition to the Fort Smith food scene and we look forward to going back. read more

I had dinner here with a friend while I was visiting Fort Smith. First off, the host was rude. He wasn't pleasant at all and seemed as if we were bothering him by asking for a table. It was definitely not a great first impression. Our waitress was nice but she didn't stagger our dinner order. We literally had our appetizer, salad, and dinner entrees on the table at the same time. I felt they were rushing us out the whole time. It was over priced, "ok" food that is comparable to a chain restaurant. I've had better steaks prepared at Outback or Longhorn. Maybe if the overall experience was better, I would have felt better paying $130 for 2 people. If you are going to be a fine dining restaurant, at least be nice to people. read more

The ambiance is rustic and the acoustics are challenging due the the layout of the restaurant. Service was friendly. The food portions were generous and the presentation pleasing. Wine selection was adequate. The website has fantastic photos which lead me to believe I was in for a delightful opportunity to dine, but the menu was far less creative. Perhaps in the spring and summer when farm to table items are more plentiful the choices will be more exciting. We had heard about Stonehouse and were excited about the farm-to-table experience. My family and I were coming back from a wedding and decided to drop in to give it a try. I got the prime rib and it was probably the best steak I've had in Fort Smith. The aus ju was excellent and the side of horseradish was the best horseradish sauce I have ever had! My salad tasted fresh and the warm bacon vinigarette was sweet and unique...Good dressing to try. My wife's salmon was tasty and she enjoyed it. The blueberry cheesecake was good, but honestly just a little disappointing. The crust could have been better. But the creme brule was excellent. Ashley was the best waitress! Very friendly and attentive... even with my mass of kids. Get her if you can. I'm glad to have a quality restaurant here in Fort Smith that is doing something different! read more

They squeezed me in on New Year's Eve when I got stuck in town by myself. I have nothing but praise after my first visit. Steak was cooked a perfect mid rare. Decent wine list. Blanton's behind the bar. Chef Memo came out of the kitchen personally to check to make sure steak was cooked correctly and to make sure everything was as expected. Will be returning soon. I would have liked to given them 5 Stars but tonight was just a 4 star experience. The service was 5 stars. From start to finish our server was on top of everything. I've always had good service here but this was the best by far. The food was good, better than average, but not great. It felt like it was missing they "wow" factor. We had the 8 oz filet and the Chicken Marsala. I will say, the side of asparagus with fried egg did have the wow factor. For an appetizer we had the Brussel sprouts. They were good but I've had better. Lastly, I had an Old Fashioned to drink it both of them were very good. My biggest issue of the night was the check. On the menu the 8 oz filet is priced at $32 and $4 for the sautéed mushroom add on. However, when the bill came it was $45. I'm not sure how they came up with that price but that's what it was. I paid the $45 but was not happy about it. Also, I had originally ordered the Mushroom Ravioli but was told they were not serving that dish this evening. Disappointed for sure. read more

The only thing that was acceptable was the temp of my steak. Her ravioli were almost raw, the spinach dip appetizer had no flavor, and the Gouda mac was over cooked. Bill with tip was $75. Today was the first time to visit Stine House. I've want to visit before but I finally had the opportunity this evening. Up front... I was severely disappointed! And this is completely due to the waitress, a tall, slender, dark haired girl that didn't give her name. She had an attitude from the moment we sat down! A 4 top sat at nearly the same time and she devoted her attention to them instantly. She took too long to finally approach us, asking for a drink order. She told us about the cheese plate and appatizers being half off and she would return to tell us about the feature that evening. We waited a long time for her to return and take our drink order. When the drinks finally were delivered she didn't even stop long enough to take our appetizer order. Both drinks were wrong and we had to flag her down after 10 mins. to let her know! She again gave us attitude, after arguing they were correct and then saying she put them in right but the bar didn't make them right. No appologies! Meanwhile, several other tables were sat. She had drinks and food orders in for them quickly, while we sat waiting. We were finally so frustrated with her we left. My wife and I had come to have an enjoyable evening but the level of frustration she caused was unacceptable! My wife and I just came this evening to Stonehouse restaurant without a reservation. The host was so nice and let us know if we wanted to sit inside it would be several minutes. She offered us to go outside to the patio and sit, since it was cool. We agreed and once outside was introduced to our server Tori. She led us through the drink menu and then the appetizer menu and the regular menu We don't believe that we have ever seen a server so knowledgeable about the restaurants menu as she was. She was professional, and friendly we really enjoyed how is she relate all of the information about the menu. I had the Australian sea bass and my wife had the shrimp scampi. First visit. Atmosphere - nice place, but seriously inadequate cooling. It was 95 outside today and had to be at least 80 inside the restaurant. No air in the restrooms at all. Food - Ordered the steak bites for appetizer. Very salty. VERY salty. The lavash was yummy, so that helped. For the entrees, my companion had the halibut. Cooked well, but the portion of accompanying risotto was very small. I ordered the special- sea bass. Was slightly undercooked and had not been prepped correctly. Bones were in the middle of the filet. Accompanying shrimp were good, but accompanying pasta was overcooked. I got the feeling that the fish had been frozen and just didn't get handled well. For dessert we ordered creme brûlée and the lemon berry mascarpone cake. The creme brûlée was soup, not a custard. Sent it back - was not charged for it. The lemon cake was good, but a little dry. The berry sauce drizzled on the plate was delicious. Service - our server was nice, but not very attentive. Forgot to bring knives with the appetizer, went to make fresh coffee AFTER she served our desserts even though the coffee was ordered at the same time the desserts were. Water and tea were thankfully refilled without request. Service was very slow. Not sure this was the server's fault, rather it was the kitchen. The entire dining experience was two hours and the restaurant was not even half full. Price - a bit too pricey for portions and quality. The undercooked, incorrectly prepped sea bass special was $42. One app, two entrees, two desserts (only charged for one) and a glass of tea with tip was over $130. Also not charged for the coffee. Summary - this restaurant has some issues, but it could be good if a bit more attention is given to details, and the kitchen works on their timing and quality control. As for the tropical temps inside the restaurant, might just need a larger air conditioning unit. Glad we tried it, but won't be back. read more

The asparagus steak topper was a nice addition; be careful the server nonchalantly refers to them as though they are complimentary- they are not. There does not seem to be any bread offered with the salad nor the entree. Necessary reservations were voice on the phone; yet, there were ample tables available without one.
