Our 2012 Ford F-150 EcoBoost with 143,000 miles lost a turbo while we were traveling on vacation. We just didn't have the time to wait around for the Ford service next door to order us a replacement. We came here and bought a 2018 Toyota Tundra here at Stone's. Justin was our salesman and was super helpful. He even got one of the service techs to help us flip our tow hitch. Jordan was also very helpful and straight forward in getting us through the paperwork. Everyone in this dealership seemed real nice. Gave me an estimate to paint my truck at stones for $9,500, had it for 5 months and ended up charging me $15,000 and it was the worst paint job I've ever seen, had scratches all over it. The owner told me he'd make it right and still charged me full price for a spray in bed liner that he said he'd help me out with. Not impressed. Just don't look at it up close. Being a retired ASE mechanic, and now drive big rigs part time, have been taking both of our Ram trucks in for factory recalls, no problems at all, they treat customers like I used to treat them. It helps when they don't try to pull the wool over my eyes, as I would be able to see it coming. I do have scan tools to double check an issue before I make the call. I have the lifetime warranty so it pays to have them do the work. Anyone that needs to have their vehicle worked on, they won't be disappointed. read more

Their integrity is sketchy and this is the second time I've walked away from a simple oil change and had more issues after I left them than when I drove in. This review is for their repairs/service department. I have no experience with sales. I needed some repair down to go to Cali, they wanted $550. I went to Paul's Do It Better Auto Repair in Rigby and he did it for $290. The parts were half that they quoted and the labor was much less too. And he got it done faster than they probably would because I waited quite awhile for just an inspection (they are busier being a dealership). It's that simple, dealerships are so pricey because they think they can be trusted more and they have much more overhead to cover. Go to local guy you can trust, Paul's Auto Repair in Rigby right off County Line exit. P.s. Yelp, Please don't filter my review. This is my 2nd review ever and my first was filtered for some reason. This is a review of their service department, not their sales. They have always done good by me and I have NEVER felt pressured to do a service that wasn't in immediate need. I even had a nasty scratch on the side of my car that they buffed out for 19.99 (other auto body shops wanted 100). Very pleased with Stone's service and their staff is pretty friendly. I hardly ever write reviews but this is my second experience with the service/repair department. My most recent experience was when I took my Jeep in for a recall. As part of the recall, they had to remove my center console. After a few days had passed of getting my Jeep back I noticed my console was broke in several spots where it was not previously broke. Looking under the broken parts I noticed there were mounting bolts. They must of either broke the console on accident while removing it or broke it to get it off fast and save time. Just make sure that you inspect the area where they worked before leaving if you take your vehicle in to be serviced. My first experience was a present from my wife when she surprised me that my jeep was going to be detailed. When I dropped off my Jeep there was a small drop of caramelized sugar on the steering wheel from a donut I had ate that morning. I asked the person at the desk if they could give me a quote on 2 different things I know that needed to be fixed. They said they would call me with a quote since I wasn't waiting there. When my Jeep was done, I went to pick it up and there was an additional $70 charge. The first charge was for tightening my serpentine belt and the second charge was for re-enforcing my front bumper with several plastic bumper clips. I explained that I had not agreed to have these things fixed but had asked only for a quote. When they handed me my statement I had signed to have my jeep detailed they had tacked on the quotes as work. When I got in my Jeep, I noticed the sugar was still there but under a layer of wax or whatever they use to polish the dash area. Upon closer inspection, there was lots of dust also in this layer. I should have learned from this experience. The positive side of this is that their waiting area is clean. Their service was quick but I would trade quick service for a better detail job and a non-broken center console. read more

Worst Toyota Dealer I have ever been to. This is an warning to anyone that goes there that the dealer is only worried about taking your money. Please drive to Idaho Falls. I went in for an oil change. The mechanic told me that my differential fluid was dark and needed to be changed (at 24,000 miles). I then asked him how he knew and he said it looked dirty. I asked him if he told everyone that and he said he told most people that their transfer case fluids and differential fluids need to be changed. As a mechanic I am embarrassed that another mechanic would pull trick on people. read more

I lived in Rexburg for a few years while I was going to school at BYUI. I took in my Corolla to get an oil change. While they were changing my oil, they called me and said that my CV boot was ripped, and that I needed to replace it. But they did not just want to replace it, they wanted to strip out the entire constant velocity joint, which they quoted me about $500. Since I was in school and it was not an urgent problem, I decided that I would do it later. Well, it has been close to two years since I went to Stones Toyota before I went to another Toyota dealer in Utah. I told the dealership in Utah to check out the CV joint because I was told by the Stones Toyota that it needed to be fixed. The Utah dealer called me up and told me that there is no problem with my CV boot at all! So, not only did Stone's Toyota dealership lie to me about a "problem" my car had, they wanted to tear out as much as they could to make as much money as they can. I am not sure if they thought I was just a college student so they could rip me off, but I would warn anyone not to go there because you will be ripped off. Find another dealership in I.F. or surrounding areas before going to Stone's. read more

I used their services to fix my jeep 2 months ago and a month later i am having the same issues i was having before i took it in to be fixed. I took it in to someone else to take a look at it and they told me it was the same thing that i just had fixed. So i took it back here for them to tell me nothing is wrong. It's unfortunate cause i was going to give them all my business when dealing with my car. Now i will never use their services ever again for anything involving my vehicle. Since i wrote this review there is more to add. I asked them to lock my door with the keys inside and i would pick it up after work. I get there and the door was unlocked and my car smelt like someone had been smoking in my car. Since then i've been contacted by the manager asking me to call to speak with him and it has been days i've tried contacting with no results of speaking with him. From my experience i believe they have no respect for their customers. I would give them negative stars if i could. read more

Took car in for oil change. Previously the oil plug stripped the pan's threads by being cross threaded. This time Stone's wanted to replace the oil pan, said the engine was leaking, & said the transmission was leaking. When I didn't have expensive work done there, they left my oil filter loose to spew oil everywhere! Thankfully, I live nearby. When mechanic looked at it the next day, he said I only had 2 qts. of oil & he screwed the oil filter on 1 1/2 turns!! I will NEVER go back to Stone's!!! Written for my daughter. THE REST OF THE STORY: (writing for myself) The mechanic lied about the oil filter being loose to cover the fact that he'd installed the wrong oil pan which caused major engine damage. The new pan is much more shallow than the original. Because the oil intake that goes with the shallow pan wasn't installed at the same time, it rubbed causing a witness on the newer pan & prevented the engine from getting oil. When questioned as to why the oil indicator light was on, mechanic said it was likely the oil sensor was faulty. He said the car could be driven. This resulted in cam shaft breakage in the engine. Now the engine is toast! Thus, my anger. (I should wait until I cool off before posting so I can think rationally). BACK TO STONE'S: Stone's asked to look at the engine. They dismantled it & showed us the witness mark. It was then thought that possibly the timing belt had skipped a pin. Stone's tried to install a pin to no avail. When that wasn't the issue, Stone's re-secured the covers so it could be towed through major road construction on Hwy. 20 without further damage. They did ALL this VERY PROFESSIONALLY & at NO COST to us! Stone's wasn't argumentative, though they had every right to be. They treated us with RESPECT even though I had trashed them on Yelp. I am chagrined. Stone's was able to correctly identify the real issues with the car. IMPRESSIVE as another Toyota dealership didn't even come close! BOTTOM LINE: STONE'S IS PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWS THEIR STUFF!!!! I owe them my profound thanks for their GENEROSITY in time & labor spent & for their PROFESSIONALISM. (And for not rubbing my nose in my mistaken emotional conclusions!) read more

Traveling through the area, broke down had my car towed to a Dodge Dealer, why not own a Dodge take it to the Dealership, had been talking to the service dept while waiting 2 hours for the tow, said if we were in before 6 they could take a look at it. Arrived at 5:30 2 mechanics sitting in the bay area, said they couldn't look at it until next day. Arrived nest morning at 9 said they had a couple of scheduled appointments before me then they could look at it, a couple of locals showed up needed a quick look so they took care of them. Remembered I had my code scanner with me, ran it, cleared codes the car started so I left. Worst experience ever had a Dealership, nothing like I receive at the Dodge dealer in Boise.. read more
