That was the case for me when I needed storage while moving from Oakley down to Paso Robles. I'm still hoping it's only temporary as I slowly go through items that have been sitting in storage for years. Theatre Drive wasn't my first choice, purely because of its distance from where we live, but they had units available--which was an issue I encountered with storage facilities closer to home. I got a move-in special, signed the documents online, and stopped by to meet Brian, who gave me the keys to a 5x10 unit. It was just the right size for what we needed to store. Recently, I've been working with Olivia, who kindly helped me secure a second unit. I'm in the process of transitioning everything from my Oakley unit and some items in the garage to Paso. Overall, I've been pleased with the storage units. I did have one issue with the roll-up door, but Brian took care of it quickly. The facility is clean, secure, well-lit, and requires a code to access. While I'm hoping to eventually move out of both units at Theatre Drive, I'm glad to have had this option. Ive had to have several units at Abbys (long story) & Abbys was great until ...... THEY WERE BOUGHT OUT BY THE EVIL, GREEDY, UBER CAPITALISTS CALLED "STORAGE PRO" SOMETIME IN 2021. The FORCED insurance really p*s**d me off plus they tacked on all kinds of other pointless fees AND then ... raised the rent by almost $20.00! That was just the 1st of MANY more excessive raises to come! I think my rent has been raised 5 times in just 2 or 3 years. Greedy Storage Pro just raised it again about 4 months ago. In 2020 I was paying a reasonable $134/month. NOW I'M PAYING $215/MONTH WITH NO PERKS! I'm on a tiny fixed income as it is, & to my horror in this Post COVID Greed Era I can no longer pay all my bills nor make ends meet. The unnecessary c*** pulled by Storage Pro is NOT helping!! My stay at Abbys was never meant to be permanent - but you know what they say about "making plans." I've tried to get a smaller unit at ABBYS for years. Now I want to get the h*** out of Storage Pro completely! Whats holding me back: 1. I suddenly got VERY sick in 2021 (cancer) & am now bedridden 80% of the time. So, I cant go there & start condensing things so I can move into a smaller unit at a more REASONABLY PRICED facility closer to where I live. 2. Im on a tiny fixed income & now have NO disposable income. So, I have no money to pay movers. I guess I'll be stuck at that awful, greedy Storage Pro with 4 rent raises per year for the remainder of my life! They are just bleeding me dry & sucking the life right out of me! Rock & a hard place indeed! The only way I'll get out of Storage Prop is if a miracle happens! And with the way things have been going since 2017 . That's not likely! ~~ What really infuriates me is that Storage Pro is a NATIONAL CHAIN & they treat ALL of their customers like this. My recommendation: STAY CLEAR OF ABBYS/STORAGE PRO & THEIR SISTER FACILITY ON THEATRE DRIVE IN PASO! There are plenty of nice, clean, secure facilities - with both indoor & outdoor units - to chose from in SLO County.

This family member had a unit in Los Osos that was charging well over twice as much for the same size unit! We luckily got a unit on the second floor, so the door to the unit is on the inside, and there's a service elevator to handle all the heavy lifting. This makes the moving and sorting much nicer than having to be out in the sun/wind/rain. Conveniently located, easy access, just a really wonderful experience! I have my own storage unit where I live in Arroyo Grande, but if I lived in Atascadero, I wouldn't hesitate to get a unit there! Thanks!

We set up automated payments so we never had to worry about missing a payment so that was also convenient. All paperwork was done through DocuSign via email. If you ever did need to talk to someone they always answered the phone as well. The site itself is right off the 101 and is a breeze to get in and out of. The storage facility is clean and well-maintained and the gate always worked without a hitch. We rented a RV storage site for 5+ years and we would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I searched multiple trailer storage places in the general area and the rates here were very reasonable compared to other places. When I reached out, customer service was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions I had. I was able to do everything online and over the phone as we were doing our move. So basically coordinated everything while on the road and their customer service made it possible- Thanks for making it easy guys! Great facilities as well- clean and with ample space. The street to the storage is a bit tricky to find but just look out with a Service sign/building and make a right. Follow the road to the end almost- it will veer to the right and then you will need to make a right turn to head into a small street with a big dip to make it to the gate. Watch out for that dip- I hit it hard once in my small honda when I went to put wheel covers on the trailer. Larger cars won't have an issue :)

The customer service is extremely lacking and any time I go into the front office it smells severely of smoke and usually takes 10 minutes+ to get assistance. Almost every time I attempt to visit my unit, they have a piece of equipment blocking the door so it cannot even be opened. I have called the manager / front desk multiple times regarding this ADA non-compliance, and each time she acts annoyed and does nothing (and the non-compliance continues after every visit). I will be moving storage units soon and I look forward to nothing more. I also have a storage unit in SLO (and have had several other storage units in the past since we have moved a lot) so I have something to compare to, and El Camino Storage is by far the worst I have experienced thus far. If you're looking for a storage unit, I would highly, highly recommend going elsewhere!!

The…read moreonly problem I have had is with my credit card being compromised and I had to let them know and when I haven't let them know I got a new card they give me a courtesy phone call too let me know I need to make my payment so I don't get a late charge. I'm so happy with Diane I think that's her name I may be wrong. BTW I had my credit card compromised four times in 2020 and never had a problem with my payment or a late payment charge.
