Ross Bettis screwed over my son and used his case to hurt me. Attorney Bettis threw the case again during my son's hearing for joint custody and child support modification. Can anyone tell me why your attorney would write an order for child custody modification that is burdensome to you and hurt your entire family, including the child? Attorney Betitis wrote my son's visitation order as follows: my son gets four weeks of visitation during the summer, but he has to take them in two separate times. My son gets to see his son during the Christmas holiday, but he must have him back by 11 am on Christmas day the odd years and can only pick him up at 11 am on the evening years. Also, my son is the only person that can pick up my grandson, and he cannot leave my grandson alone with any of his family members. Why would your attorney write such a burdensome visitation order? My son lives in the country of Mexico, and his family lives in Texas. My grandson lives in Hobbs, New Mexico. The Christmas visitation schedule means my grandson will not enjoy spending Christmas eve or Christmas day with his father and the rest of his father's side of the family. Most of my son's visitation will be traveling to get his son back to Hobbs, NM. I have three children who have no criminal backgrounds-two of them are college graduate-the third one has been in the marines for 16 years. Attorney Bettis did this to hurt me; after all, he was my attorney in my grandparent's visitation case. However, Attorney Bettis and the Respondent's attorney's conduct have been unethical. They don't care about hurting my grandson or doing what is in his best interest. This whole ordeal has been so painstaking. I know this is a racial issue, but the extent to which these attorneys are taking this is heartbreaking. But most interestingly, is how they don't care about using my grandson as collateral damage to have their way is unbelievable. My grandson is six years old. My husband and I hired Glen Houston to represent us on a civil matter recently. However, we never…read moresaw any results. We emailed, called, and tried every way in the world to gain communication with the attorney. However, it was virtually impossible. We had won our property back in March of 2020, and in June the party had been held in contempt for not following the courts order and returning said property, however this is Oct 19, 2020, and we have still had no updates, no filing for a Writ of Replevin, nothing. During this time, I had to hire Mr Houston on another matter, a simple assault involving this party who has our property, and we have court on Oct 22, 2020. Well, today I called to try and get some answers about why I have not received any updates, why nothing has been filed in our case, etc, and I was again put on the back burner. Now, this may be petty for some, but when someone's legal bills are in the thousands, and you cannot get any communication, I believe it warrants an explanation. His secretary got a phone call with my husband and me on three way(they didn't know I was on three way), and he simply said if they were too busy to communicate, that maybe we needed to hire someone else? It's been since MID JUNE!!! She must have ran to Mr Houston and told him my husband said he would fire Mr Houston, and then I received an email that Mr Houston was withdrawing from my case that we have trial on on the 22nd, just this Thursday!!!! YET, THEY CANT FILE A WRIT TO GET OUR PROPERTY BACK OR GIVE UPDATES AND ITS BEEN FOUR MONTHS SINCE SHE WAS HELD IN CONTEMPT??? Mr Houston may be a good Lawyer, but the lawyer is only as good as his office help, and they are TERRIBLE!!!
