Went to get a brake job and unfortunately that's what I got...a break! They stripped a lug nut and the owner Fred tried to blame me. He would talk over me and not answer my questions while I remained calm. When I asked him to lower his voice because we were disagreeing and he was escalating things, he went off the deep end and started cussing me like a dog, was very threatening in his body language and said he was going to call the police on me. I told him he should call the police...and then he didn't because he knew he messed up and I wasn't backing down. The owner Fred was a gentleman and a kind human being for doing as much as he did to provide me with service for merely repairing an exhaust system in three places on my Toyota today. He greeted me at the front counter and began talking with me. He estimated the expected cost and explained what was likely to happen after examining the car from below. He wanted a customer. He drove me to my house after I left the car at the repair shop early in the morning. He picked me up at home two or three hours later and drove me to the bank for me to get money for paying the bill for the repair. He waited at the bank for me to obtain the cashier's check for payment. He provided me with a detailed sheet about the costs with correct arithmetic. He gave me a chance to look over everything that was outlined in writing on the paper. He drove me back to the repair shop. Conversation in both directions were about different topics. He explained the nature of the repair and discussed unexpected problems or discoveries to add extra layers of protection in the exhaust system. He was honest and easy to talk with. Reasonable rates and an honest discussion about parts and labor for all that was done. Andre was the person who did the work and I spoke with him twice. Andre did contribute to the analysis of the problem and the brief discussion of the suggested repair. I had never met Fred or the other man before. I just went there for a second opinion about reducing costs for the repair with out having to replace the entire system. Fred granted me what I wanted. Something good about this service and small repair shop as well as with Fred the owner. There is enough for me to find much to praise him about.
