We happened to stop in here on a day where there is two full bus loads of children in the park. The Maze is great fun. They are currently in the middle of planting more trees to make the maze bigger and fill in the gaps of the maze that have worn away after many years of fun. Once you have finished the maze there is mini putt putt and adventure life size puzzles on the ground. There is a small cafe that you can buy drinks and ice-cream. I would recommend taking a hat and wearing sun screen as there is not a lot of shade. This is a very children friendly place. It does cost to visit this place but you can choose weather you want to do both the maze and putt putt of just one or the other.

Not a very good value for money…read more Maze is ok. But the main maze won't be open until the end of 2014. So is basically a couple of little mazes and games. Mini golf has been neglected and it is tiny. If you cannot think of many other places to visit, then is ok. Kids do enjoy it but is not a whole day activity. There's not enough shade so wear hat and use sunscreen!

I've been attending CMF since it began, and have always loved it…read more There's a huge range of artists, with each day somewhat dedicated to different audiences, capturing the youngins and oldies too. Accordingly, you can buy tickets for various days and combos of days. It's never too crowded, you're on grass and sand, not mud and gravel, and there's just a relaxed, family vibe. Stay nearby and you can spend the morning at the beach before hitting the festival in the arvo in perfect spring weather.

Rocked up in 40 degree heat on New Years Day and, bizarrely enough, found this place open…read more Seriously, WTF? There were about 5 old blokes milling about an old sugarcane train with two passenger cars and a vintage diesel engine, and a woman selling tickets. All were dressed in full (and appropriately vintage) Queensland Rail attire and apparently just waiting for someone (us) to show up. We bought a couple of paper tickets ($6 each) and had them punched by the conductor for the 850m (5-10 minutes), on-demand journey down the rickety old tracks to the end of the line. Apparently there is a cafe at the end of the line but it being NYD, and the cafe folk apparently being less dedicated than the railwaymen, it was closed, so the train simply stopped and turned around. We had a small picnic on the ride and then spent some time chatting about the old diesel and the history of the line with the friendly staff. They also have a steam train but it is currently out of commission pending some additional volunteers. The dream is to build another 3km of track to the next town, but who knows how many decades that will take! Worth a visit if you love trains or curious relics of times gone by.

They have so many different varieties of cheese that I can't choose a favourite but here are a few I love (smoked sun dried tomato, sweet chili, pickled onion, pepper and garlic). I could keep going but the list would never end. Now onto the yoghurt. Only one word, Delicious. Huge variety of flavours ( my favourite is peaches and cream). They also sell their own ice cream. Everything is reasonably priced too.
