For me the major con is it's a bit of a drive but for those who live closer to this campus location it would not be an issue at all. The second con is due to it being so small (it's literally just one large building 2 floors) in comparison to the main PCC campus and extension campus on Foothill in Pasadena not as many courses are offered. Pros are FREE, yes I said it FREE parking. Both semesters I have taken classes here there has never been an issue finding parking in the medium sized lot. There are signs that state there is a nearby lot with shuttle service accommodation if the main one becomes full. I have yet to utilize the second lot. Another plus is they do have some counseling services available, as well as a student services center with a reasonable study space and microwaves available. I have only take classes winter and summer session here so cannot speak in Regards of other devices that may be offered during the full fall and spring terms. A neat thing that I saw upon entering the campus was a small table set up with a keurig coffee maker with kpods. People are welcomed to bring there own cup to use and cookies are sometimes put out for students as well. There is also a basket for food joint coupons so that you can add or take if needed. This is free and I thought it was very thoughtful.

I understand that student protection is a priority in today's decidedly polarized climate but staff member MIKE appeared to be just short of hurting me. He wouldn't give me his last name and his temple was throbbing and fists clenching. This type of simple mindedness is to be expected today. Even in Washington DC. But .... Wow. The worst part was that I had been invited down to drop off my sealed transcripts which were in my back pack. I rode my bicycle to rehabilitate my injuries sustained while living in China teaching English. So. Short story made long, the Doctorate I considered there, as well as the Endowed Chair I considered funding through my LAO WANTONG FOUNDATION 501c3 Charity ain't never going to happen. Good luck with that Mike Doe

There's a shortage of healthcare workers. You'd figure they'd want people to graduate and come out strong instead of beat down, broke and taken advantage of. Look elsewhere for an education. I hope this place crumbles. Response to Victoria: Hey Victoria, why don't you take a look at your instructors to better understand my concern. How about an audit. This was my first time testing at a Pearson Vue. Had been doing all my tests previously at…read morePrometrics but boy did the most recent review and Google reviews mislead me to consider this site as an exam center! Soo disappointed!! - Parking - free - but despite what your email says that there are 20 and 15 reserved slots for testers, there was none above - none of the reserved spots for testers are actually marked and you have to go underground. That's fine. Because I understand that this is a shared lot with USCIS so there's lots of people trying to park and take up spots they're not supposed to. - CENTER itself - clean - appears desolate, not that well used. But computer, wireless mouse, restroom, all were clean. BAD PART - test center and check-in are next door to each other. (Read the test for why this this important). - First of all the lady Jackie(?) checking me in was very courteous and so nice. She was and walked me from the side of check in to the side of lockers, restroom and then my seat. -I was one of the 2 people listed to take an exam I think, so I asked her when I was trying to sign in to verify if this place pretty quiet. She said yes then I started my exam. Within 30 minutes all I could hear were loud voices from a group of people on the other side of my wall where I was testing. I kept raising my hand there was no one to be found to come to my assistance. I tapped on the wall and nothing. Then I went outside and there was no one to be found in the testing lobby. I then went back to complete the first two hours of my exam having to listen to them talk and distracting me and disturbing my thoughts was such a painful experience! It was very unprofessional of the men who were on the other side in the staff center. I could not find the lady who checked me in anymore. But I want to make sure that this happens to no one else. The exam center earplugs were not really good even though they're new and didn't fit me well. I used their headphones to try to stop them loud chatter but they were not actually noise canceling so that did not work. Finally after two hours of my first part of the exam I had my first official 15 minute break and I went into the other side of the center where I found a group of 4 men just chatting away. I confronted them letting them know that I could hear them talking and I wanted to have my seat changed so that I could not hear them. The gentleman was responsive and only after I showed him where I was sitting which is literally right next to where they're talking on the other side of the wall did he say OK I will change your seat. Now at my new desk in the back of the test center, had 10 minutes left of my break and the guy said, ok I come back. Yet he never did! Little did I know that my exam time would start counting down and needed his password to start my test!!! So there I go again, running down the hall to the other side where the guy is again, now with a different set of people, old people, like joss parents, and I tell him, pleaseeee come and put your required password!! It was so unprofessional of him off this is his one and only job to help and it's literally doing the opposite. I was thankful for this new seat because I could no longer hear people talking but goes without saying that I could hear ambulance and street sounds. But saga doesn't end there! In the last hour of the exam there were annoying loud drilling sounds coming from the back center outside or roof. Who knows! But again, does baby Jesus hate me soo much ?!! Was all that I could think of by hour 4. Needless to say, this was the worst experience I've ever had with a test center. I could not concentrate at all during the test and it was absolutely unprofessional of the people working there and hosting the place to be doing this to the test takers. This needs to change. Were they nice? Sure. But have to regards to being quiet. Free parking at this Pearson Vue is not enough for a bad test experience. I would not return again to this place. I would maybe recommend this for an hour Exam if you can bear this. But anything longer. Nope.

Had everything ready the moment I walked in for my appointment and it went as smooth as I could've hoped. Parking is under ground and the stairs are a little complicated to find but besides that everything was good. The testing facility was very clean and well kept, I was given a dry erase marker and laminated sheet to write on as well as a pack of new earplugs for any noise (didn't need them at all). They offered masks and had hand sanitizer at each station as well.

Hoping to get guidance and great advice for this new chapter I was trying to start for my daughter and I. And, that's exactly what I got. Every single step of the way I had someone to guide me and support me. I was able to start a program that suited my interest and has given me so much motivation to move forward for my daughter and for myself. This year at platt has flown by and I complete the Ma program in just a matter of months and l couldn't be happier I also couldn't have asked for a better counselor Scarleth. She especially has become someone who I can go running to for any issue or guidance at school. She and Richard have made this experience so meaningful and easy to get through. All in all platt is my safe place and if you're looking for guidance and a strong push to move forward THIS IS THE PLACE.

Single parents are making huge sacrifices to go to school, so they do not have to depend on government assistance and then you gaslight them, making them feel bad because they have obligations. School is first, I'm sorry, children are first and always will be. Did you forget about DCFS, if you don't take care of your kids they will. We want parents to strive for success and not sabotage their career by adding another hurdle in the way of supporting their kids on their own. I read another negative yelp on respiratory therapy after I posted mine. My hope this helps single parents who are searching for a career about their decision to attend this school for respiratory therapist. I also hope it changes the direction and focus of the school to help support our future. This is a technical school to learn a trade and it can be costly to choose this route. Let's support our future by talking to them, not making them feel bad because they have kids or other responsibilities with them, instead let's encourage, support and provide empathy to help them complete their desire to flourish as a respiratory therapist.
