So I had heard very mixed things about this organization over the years. A trainer I greatly…read morerespect told me that they are cult like and if you're not 100% in, you're not in it all. They advertised a six week shape up plan, I spoke to the trainer Kerry over the phone and basically told him what I'm about, not really a joiner, kind of like to do my work and get out of there, in reasonable shape would like to be in better shape for my wedding in December. I was told that I could come in and get measured and then go to my first class which was supposed to be tonight, as they were closed for the holiday, typically it would be Monday Wednesday and Friday for six weeks. I was also told that I could come in and get measured anytime. A six week challenge sounded good, the price was reasonable $350, And I felt like they were worth a shot. I also asked that after three months of self-imposed Covid isolation, I really didn't want to know my weight or fat content and I would be happy to just know how much I lost at the end. On the phone, he agreed, but now the challenger was full, he was not willing to work with me. He also said they would email me paperwork to complete which never arrived. I was so wrong to give this place a chance, I always give people the benefit of the doubt. After just getting back from my future father-in-law's funeral in South Carolina which ate up the last week and a half of my time. I showed up to be measured, not work out, this morning, And was told they were completely full. And I reminded him of the phone call which he then I guess realized he had taken. Now granted there was a class going on I had no idea there was going to be one in progress and I was willing to wait until the class was over or come back later, for the five minutes that he would measure me and put me on the scale. This was even after he told me that they were not at my beck and call (pretty rude) and that they had other paying clients, which of course I realize. I offered to come back at a more convenient time this afternoon. I should have walked out then, this man was acting like a jerk, not a professional. My advice is unless you really want to be part of a fitness community and be there all the time, you may want to look elsewhere. I am not a 'social joiner' as I have a demanding life that requires my full attention. I have enough friends, what I needed was a trainer and maybe some accountability. Kerry then said this wouldn't be a good fit and he didn't suggest that I take part in the class. I asked him if that meant he would not sign me up and he said yes. Who needs this kind of aggravation and by the way they were working out without masks indoors. That alone should have been a red flag. No thanks, more trainers in Nola who want to work.

The facility is always clean and well-maintained, which makes working out so much more enjoyable. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Even the other members are supportive and create a positive, community-like atmosphere. Lacey is an incredible spin instructor. It's a place where you feel motivated and valued--highly recommend!

He has an adorable little dog that follows him around. Facility clean and has all the equipment you would need. Lots of aerobic machines. Guests friendly. It's not a spa. Ladies room so-so. It was clean tho. Free towels. I like that they have towels for cleaning equipment rather than wipes or paper towels. Will make this my go to gym when visiting NOLA in future.

It's an awesome no-frills gym for an unbeatable price…read more I used to go here when I lived nearby and hired a personal trainer (Coach Los and Tatyana - I think they may have moved since). It was the first time I learned how to use all of the machines, lift weights properly, and target specific areas. They even placed me in a small group for training when money was running tight. Everyone knew my name and gave me a warm welcome when I walked in. Coach Los and Tatyana truly changed my life by teaching me how to work out. My entire body changed and at first, I got extremely nervous because I got so muscular that my old clothes didn't fit anymore! But they talked me through it and explained that I was gainly much needed muscle and that gaining weight in my case was not a bad thing. I am so strong now and continue to use the techniques I learned from them when I lift. When I take flights and see someone struggling to get their luggage in the overhead, I just grab it and throw it up for them like I'm the Hulk!!!! : )

They showed me around, answered my questions and did not treat me like I was going to be a blight on their property because I was not 25 years old and in great shape. Truly, they are there to help you not make it a pick up spot. I requested a personal trainer and was lined up with one for the very next day at a time that I picked. I was asked a lot of questions by the trainer as to what I was looking for and she focused on those techniques to help me achieve my goals. It has wipes all over so you can clean the machines after you use them and it never smells bad. The staff is always smiling and seem to be in a good mood when I come in. I'm so happy I kept looking.

I am a beginner to the gym workout life. I've always worked out at home with the little equipment…read morethat I have such as bands, free weights, and running around the neighborhood. I used to be a part of a commercial gym prior to joining PFRX. It was one of those gems that were always clean, had a nice inexpensive monthly rates, and many many machine options. The problem for me was, that every time I went, I had to wait a turn or alter my workout due to the lack of availability of machines. I found that when I would be able to work out I had to somewhat rush myself through my workout because people would always ask me how many more reps do I have left. So I begin to venture out and look for another gym home one that could accommodate all of my needs. That is what PFRX has done for me. There are friendly and knowledgeable staff during staffing hours, location is always clean, if I have any questions on how to use a machine properly during staff hours, someone is happy to help me. They have trainers available. And most importantly for me, they aren't as crowded as your commercial gyms, which allows me the access to mini machines, and to be able to get a workout in without someone asking am I using this machine or how many reps do I have left? For me, those are huge factors! Now, yes, this is not a commercial gym and the price is very reasonable when you are investing in your health and wellness. I am truly enjoying my time at PFRX and I am really looking forward to our relationship in the coming years. Oh wait! I didn't mention the variety of machines and services they have. I've been trying out a lot of different gyms on class pass and I really like the Pilates loft! I've…read moretried a few different classes and all of the teachers are so understanding! The loft is located upstairs (haha get it- loft) and there is only a class or two going st a time. I really love the tower/reformer class. With only 4-5 students (or less) the teachers can be super hands on. I did a workout with me and one other student who was studying to become a Pilates teacher and we both got a frat workouts with the modifications given. I would go to this gym again and try out some of their other classes. January a warning. When you fill out the paper work it asks you if you are over 20 pounds.
