I was on my way to the event where I was taking the books and I had to scramble to send the books to the other Walgreens in Lufkin. Why don't they just open a register and have someone checking you out because it would have been simpler. Big business has taken the element of customer service out, which is why their sales are down. This is my last visit from now on I will drive to Atascocita or to the front of Kingwood before I come into the store again. They don't help you when you have questions about items you're looking for in the pharmacy area. I get my vitamins and supplements like I always do at this location and I go to the cash register. I have the Walgreens rewards app. On the app there is a coupon for the vitamins. The coupon is clipped and ready to go. When they ring it up, it doesn't include the coupon now we are talking about a three dollar coupon. The lady at the register gets all frazzled and doesn't know what to do. She calls the manager who is a young man who probably hasn't graduated from high school. He comes up there. He reads my app. He reads that it is clipped on my app. He reads that the items that I got are covered by the coupon. Everything is accurate, but it will not work for him. So he looks at me and says the best I can do for you is give you corporates number and you can call corporate. Seriously, when I've ever had an issue with a coupon on any other type of items, the previous managers have simply said I'll just override it and honor the coupon. This new manager wants me to put in all the work to get the coupon honored. Walgreens wonders why they don't do so well, maybe it's because of the people hire. Customer service is number one, and apparently the Walgreens at the back of Kingwood does not understand this concept.

The renovation brought about an entirely new, Sephora style make up counter complete with an in-house cosmetologist. Their make up products are a bit more high end now, offering Boots and No 7 products. The tried and true drugstore favorites like L'Oreal and Revlon are still available, but they offer a lot of new organic and skin sensitive products for those of us with skin issues. There are also cotton swabs, mascara wands, and lip brushes so you can sample the make up. Everything is cleaned before use by the woman at the make up counter. I got a mini make over done one afternoon because I needed some new foundation. Walked out with foundation, eyeliner and some new brow pencils! The general Walgreens staff is very friendly and always knowledgeable about coupons and specials happening in store. I always feel comfortable having them help me locate something I need, and they are quick to ask if I need assistance. Overall, the best Walgreens in Kingwood, if you ask me!

Returning 3 hours later I was informed that two of the medications were unavailable and had been ordered and would be available by 2 Tuesday afternoon. Never received any contact advising us that the medicines necessary for treatment after detached retina surgery weren't there. Arriving Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 I was told the medication was being worked on and would be ready in half an hour. Knowing how that went last time I didn't return for 4 hours. Imagine my irritation when I learned the medication is not available and at no point did anyone contact us to tell us that they could not fill the prescription. If vision is impaired or lost, believe that the issue will be addressed in a manner that comes with lawyers and big dollar signs attached.

But I made friends with another woman in the waiting room who had an appointment for her flu shot, and she had to wait 50 minutes for hers. So, I'm just annoyed at all the excuses. Well two days ago I ended up at Walgreens because they were one of a few locations giving the 3rd COVID vaccine (Booster shot) so we went by since they said no appointment was not necessary. After soon paper work and a little wait (30 min) we got our shot and the tech person signed our paper work with the updated vaccine showing our 3rd shot. Then tonight I get an email from Walgreens that Congratulated me on getting my "1st" vaccine and letting me know they would notify me when it's time for my 2nd shot. Why can't they put in my Walgreens record that this was my 3rd shot (a Booster). I received my original 2 shots from the local health dept and I gave Walgreens the paper work showing the dates and the manufacture ( Moderna). There has to be a way to note this considering how important medical records are especially if it is used in the future to check if you have been vaccines for travel to other countries or other events. My medical records should be accurate. Just another reason why Walgreens has fallen out of favor with me.
