So sorry for the delay in this review... Strong Hearts offers order ahead meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas and there is rarely anything that's not delicious. They meals I order are definitely enough for two very hungry people!! Their offerings vary a bit from year to year, with changes in the sides etc. There is soup main courses and sometimes a variety of salad. Then they include a dessert to complement the meal. This will be the third year we are ordering our holiday meals and highly recommend them. read more

I went to college in Syracuse where Strong Hearts originated, so I was excited to see they expanded to Buffalo! Their space is beautiful, bright, and colorful. Orders are placed at a counter, then your name is called when your food is ready. Our food came out in less than 15 minutes. My Thai tofu salad was flavorful and filling. The spiced Thai cashews were a great addition.I just wish the greens were smaller or chopped, I had to take some BIG bites. Only one of the four of us who went it fully Vegan, but Strong Hearts has a diverse menu! If you're someone who doesn't like to eat imitation meat or cheese there are other options, such as tofu or a sweet potato burger. I offered to take my niece on a college visit in Buffalo and we decided to eat at Strong Hearts in Buffalo. The menu was nearly identical to the Syracuse location (which I frequent regularly). The seating area was cute and it was easy to get to from SUNY Buffalo State. The service was good and fast there were several other groups ordering and eating lunch around the same time. I deducted one star for the bread on the chicken parm sandwich is not nearly as good at this location! The other ingredients were good and nearly identical to the Syracuse SH version of this. Strong Hearts is a top choice for vegan options here in Buffalo. One of my main struggles with most places that offer a vegan option is it is often just a Beyond Burger, or a salad (but hold the cheese!) - nothing that really offers creative ways to use vegetables or other plant based options. Strong Hearts does all of the above - creative alternatives, creative salads, plant based meat substitutes, and even vegan shakes and smoothies. Prices are reasonable, which is a huge bonus since so many places upcharge for vegan when by all accounts it should be less expensive, right? The environment is very welcoming, with a friendly, courteous staff every time we're in; couldn't ask for better in those regards. But wait! There's more! Their selections of vegan baked goods are out of this world! With an ever changing, wide variety of vegan cupcakes and pastries, there is absolutely something to satisfy every sweet tooth, and I dare you to tell me you can tell that they're vegan! I've been coming here since they opened in 2022 and have always had a great experience along with delicious food. Today we placed a to go order for desserts and when we went to pick it up Key made it clear she wasn't happy they had to hold my order. I've placed to go orders before and never had a staff member tell me "they waited all day for me to pick it up". I placed the order at 10am and picked it up at 4 pm well before they closed at 9. My husband placed 2 coffee orders to go and while we waited for those to be made Key made it a point to tell Alexis and the other cashier Heather finally made it to pick up an order. I did speak to the owner who told me that's how Key likes to joke around with people. Now if she had just made the comment when I picked up the order I would believe it but that she felt the need to make an announcement to the rest of the staff just shows she is rude. I ate here today, not only were the fries overcooked, the buffalo chicken wrap was the SALTIEST thing I've ever ate in my life. The sauce is so overbearingly salty that it almost made me throw up. When I went to the counter to tell the cashier, he said, yeah he's had it before and it's way too salty, and instead of honoring my replacement wrap of chicken Caesar, he said that he could offer me a discount for another one instead of just Exchanging the food, which was the correct thing to do. WOWWEEE-ZOWWEE!! :-O :-D :-D We finally stopped into Strong Hearts for a celebratory end-of-the-school-year lunch with our all-done 7th and 10th graders. The restaurant is on Niagara Street with street parking only. We found a spot around the block on a side street. The short walk to the restaurant was certainly well worth it! Strong Hearts is a bright, inviting dining space, with big windows, lush green plants, colorful murals, and comfortable seating. Ordering is counter ordering, but menus are available to sit and peruse. We had to sit and study the menu, as there are so many delicious sounding options. The menu consists of a variety of salads, sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and meal plates, as well as coffees, smoothies and baked goods and other desserts. Everything on the menu is 100% vegan. But if you didn't know it, you may not be able to tell! This is vegan impostor foods at their best! I ordered the cobb chicken salad. The salad was served in a generous-sized bowl, stuffed to the brim with fresh lettuce and toppings. The feta cheese was creamy and tangy. The chicken was a breaded chopped patty that was chewy and juicy in the middle, with a nice breaded crisp on the outside. The lemon vinaigrette dressing had a refreshing zip to it! Absolutely delicious and satisfying in every way! It was all smiles all around our table! Our son had the buffalo chicken tenders sub with fries. It was a sizable crusty sub roll with big meaty tenders! Our daughter tried the chicken wings. The plate is served with four wings, celery and carrots, and blue cheese. The wings are amazingly meaty! The chicken is wrapped around a wooden skewer, and bites off with a pleasing crunch. My husband had the beef shawarma wrap with macaroni salad. He usually doesn't rave about a wrap or macaroni salad--but this time he did! The juicy beef was delicious in the tangy tzatziki sauce, and he said the mac salad was one of the best he's had. When you first walk into Strong Hearts, the menu item that will immediately catch your eye are the huge and colorful cupcakes in the baked goods case at the counter. So of course we had to top off our delectable meal with decadent cupcakes! We divvied up and shared the vanilla, orange cream, and chocolate cupcakes. They were all sweet and yummy, with a nice dense pound-cake consistency. The orange cream was my favorite, but I'd gladly eat through all of the flavors! Strong Hearts is top-notch food! And yes, it is vegan food, but if you are vegan or not, you will greatly enjoy the food here. Prices reflect the top-quality of the food you receive, with most menu items about $12 - $16 each. This place had so many great looking items on the menu that it was legitimately hard to decide what to get. Ended up ordering chicken finger subs because I loved them back when I used to eat meat. Strong Hearts has come a long way and the Buffalo location of the Syracuse brand is excellent. The food has classic American food as well as innovative sandwiches, starters, and specials. Check social media for specials every weekend. Dozens of vegan milkshake flavors, lots of burgers, fun non-burger sandwiches and menu that changes seasonally. I recently had the philly cheese steak and it was fantastic. The sweet and sassy molassy is a great standby though it was a tiny bit spicy for my companion. The Thai iced tea wasn't that classic orange color but the taste was spot on. Run by one of the founders of the Syracuse shop, Strong Hearts has made a sincere investment in Buffalo with an owner who lives here and is immersing himself in Buffalo. While the Syracuse location had been a bit of let through the 2010s, the Buffalo location is everything the Syracuse version was not - substantial number of items made in house, interesting specials every weekend, and Buffalo branded merchandise. The Syracuse location always looked great on paper but primarily served cooked or assembled versions of items that were readily available at Wegmans. This is the ideal place to take non-vegans when you don't want to compromise. Most of the clientele are not vegan and my nonvegan friends are always happy to eat here. read more

The breakfast burritos are epic, with perfectly cut roasted potatoes and crispy bits of seitan "bacon" as standout ingredients. The loaded fries are decadent and scrumptious, with chewy fries enrobed in creamy "cheese" studded with veg chorizo. The kale chick'n wrap is good but not outstanding, but you can't hit a home run every time. If we lived anywhere near Buffalo, we'd be there on a weekly basis.
