Normally we enjoy stubbys but I went in with my co workers today to celebrate the last day of school and you would've thought that we came in with 100 rowdy people. Waitresses avoided our table, shook their heads when they took our drink orders. Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion especially considering how friendly and patient our group of 16 was. read more

We wanted to grab lunch after visiting the Lancaster Science Center and this place was nearby. We picked a winner because it was clean, the staff was excellent, and the food was delicious. We were there at 11:30 on Monday, December 29 and the woman behind the bar was very attentive and always made sure our drinks were refilled. We enjoyed the French onion soup, ham and cheese hoagie and fries. My 13 year old son loved the cheese pizza, and he can be picky about his pizza; and my 6 year old son said the cheese quesadilla was "better than the ones we make at home" . Ordered a carry out. Cheese steak was excellent as always. Disappointed with the turkey subgrinder. The turkey that is used is excellent however this sub was a grinder and the roll was crunchy overdone and they changed something. The tomatoes were on the bottom of the sub and very little lettuce. THE best Stromboli maybe ever - so good. Love the lightly crusty outer dough with some light spice & cheese, and the overall flavor is fantastic! The Italian sub was good, but not as yummy as the boli, but they slice all their own meats! The fries were very good and the side of chili garlic sauce, suggested by the bartender, was so tasty! I could eat it with a spoon! The French Onion soup was also good, and I'm picky. The service was great (sat at the bar), and the music & atmosphere was fun but not too crazy. Have been here a few times with coworkers for lunch. Even for a mid-week lunch hour the place was busy! Perfect little corner bar with some outdoor seating available. Our server was attentive and gave good recommendations. Their burgers are great, but I really loved the meatball parm sub I had. The pizza always looks amazing, too - but I haven't gotten that far down the menu yet! Don't skip the fresh cut fries, they are delicious. We stopped in with our dog so we dined on a sidewalk table. We had the Texas burger & Stromboli. Both were delicious, service was great!

We were looking for a place to eat at 10pm on a Wednesday and were recommended to go here by a few people out and about. We just moved to Lancaster from CT and we saw the great reviews on Stubbys and figured we'd give it a shot. I can't say one bad thing about this place. The patrons are a great cross section from every walk of life. The staff is fast on their feet, so nice and I ask for another beer I have it in like 2 minutes on a busy Friday night. They cover each others tables and the service is always with a smile. The food, holy cow, for a bar & grille, 5 stars! I had garlic wings and the wings were huge and meaty and the garlic not overwhelming. Wife had a Cheese steak sandwich that was yummy too. Chicken Caesar was on point. Even the music was great and not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. Got to meet the owner Claude, great guy and a great place. We will be back FOR SURE!!! read more

We went this past Sunday for Bloodies. They were amazing! They had great garnishes (shrimp, egg roll, picked beans, etc.). I have to say that Stubby's has one of the best bloodies in this town. Our service was great, we were checked on multiple times by multiple servers and never ran out of drinks. All of the staff were wonderful, we received great service. Eric was especially attentive and was fun to talk with. Very personable! I also saw the owner going around checking on people periodically. I appreciate that attention to service. The food was delicious. Our main focus was the Bloodies so we didn't order a lot. The apps that we got were good. But we did, however take home a Stromboli (my boyfriend's favorite) for later. We enjoyed the atmosphere very much. We are big football fans, they had several tvs on with different games. So, we were in Heaven! But for all that was going on, it was not loud like some places get. We were easily able to talk comfortably at our tables. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend the Bloodies! read more

The food was really good and the prices were more than reasonable. Our server was attentive and friendly. There is a big 70" TV and string lights hanging up too. Had a wonderful weekend in the area with friends. Stopped at Stubby's because their outdoor atmosphere caught my eye! Manager // Owner is lovely and was willing to listen to our concerns as we left; however our issues regard one waitress only. Upon entering the patio (there's no sign outside to wait for a table), I perused to see if there was a table to combine for the large number of individuals in our party. She abruptly and rudely asked us "were you told to sit here?" and then informed us we had to go inside (which at the end of the day was pointless we just went in a circle and she even was waiting for us on the other side....) never asked our party size. luckily the manager did. After going to our table we wanted to move it literally two feet. and she struts over and says with absolute condescension "uhh no thank you no" - and tried to explain we would hit the tables next to us (actually not possible but ok) Even the tables next to me looked at us with concern for her attitude and power trip that she was riding. I grew up in San Francisco, I live in DC - so it's not my first time in a bar, patio, or outdoor sports bar with wait staff whom possess uncaring demeanors - not a big deal however, her attitude from the minute you walk in is palpable - and unsettling. After her comments, we left. I've worked customer service for YEARS. It would be a disservice to not call out her poor behavior - wish I could say I would come back! read more

What a pleasant surprise this place was. We were at the Lancaster Science kids museum and wanted some thing good for lunch, i wanted s cheesesteak and man did they deliver. We got nachos, excellent, we got a couple quesadillas, also excellent, chicken cheesesteak was also very good. We got a burger that was good and my cheesesteak was great. The Stromboli y'all. I am talking bout the Stromboli....back in the day I use to think You're Place was the best in Lancaster county for a Stromboli. The ones with the mustard in it. I give Stubby's a 3.5/5 stars The portions are huge. I got the Buffalo chicken salad and the south side cheesesteak. Both of them were good, good flavor and solid food. Didn't knock my socks off in terms of combinations of flavors. I also think for the price it was a little much. But this has to be the biggest cheesesteak I've ever seen. The large steak is probably 18 inches. The menu has some items that have "market price" and I didn't know what I was paying for the cheesesteak. I think the large was probably around $20. All in all a good dive spot, I'd probably try some new things next time on the menu but was overall pleased with the experience. read more

One of my favorite neighborhood bars, you know the one where everyone knows your name and if they don't, they will before you leave. Most of my favorite bartenders are here, you won't go thirsty as the service is top notch. They have a cute outside patio area, a small parking lot across the street as well as street parking and so many TV's. I enjoy watching sports here, they will have the volume on for the most popular game and several other TV's tuned to the others. Food is top notch bar food, plentiful portions. My only complaint is the price of their delicious wings haven't normalized again post COVID. Ask for pretzels and cheese at the bar (free) while you're figuring out what you want to order from the menu. Tip - order the chicken blackened in the Quesadilla - you're welcome! Oh, and the Sunday Bloody Mary's are the bomb, if you get there early you'll have a meal just in the garnish. read more

40 years ago I made the mistake of ordering Chicken Parm in Maine. I was served an unbreaded chicken breast, covered with ketchup and sprinkled with grated parmesan cheese. At least that's what it probably said on the label of the plastic shaker from which it came. One would think I would have learned my lesson. The staff at Stubby's was friendly and prompt, so no complaints about the service. The server, however, raved about the stromboli, declaring it to be the best in Lancaster, and telling me he always had one in his freezer at home. I should have known better. Good stromboli in Lancaster? But, since he raved about it, I thought I'd take the risk. Maybe I'd be surprised. Big mistake. Who puts mustard on a stromboli? Well, I can't blame Stubby's. I'm sure the rest of the menu, which is pretty much what you would find at any "pub", is perfectly fine. One must take responsibility for one's own poor decisions. If you think mustard goes with stromboli and marinara, this is the place for you. read more

Stubby's was not on my radar prior to my recent weekend in Lancaster, but I'm so glad we came across it while looking for a casual place to have some drinks outside. The main requirement for us, aside from outside seating, was a bloody mary on the menu. Stubby's was one of the top results in that search, and fairly close to where we were staying. Upon arrival, we noticed a bunch of tables on the sidewalk, but also a sign pointing down a small alley towards more seating. We opted for the latter, and were rewarded with a gorgeous patio with appropriately spaced tables and umbrellas to block the sun. Our server was wonderful - we explained that we had eaten a late breakfast but planned to order some food eventually, which was not a problem. We enjoyed several rounds of drinks (their bloody mary was indeed legit!) and ended up snacking on some nachos. The menu offers a ton of options, everything from salads to sandwiches and pizza. Everything was very affordably priced, too. I would definitely return on a future Lancaster visit! read more
