The Student Advice Centre is like a kind of agony aunt for Cardiff's student population, based in the Students' Union.
There are three full time staff offering help in a diverse range of areas, plus an Academic Affairs Officer and an Equal Opportunities Officer.
If you're struggling to manage your money, are having problems at your accommodation or with your landlord, or you would like help finding part time employment, the advice centre can help. There's also someone specifically looking after international students, helping out with any immigration issues, work permits, entry and holiday visas, or any other issues.
I know a few people who received some useful advice from the centre concerning issues relating to their landlords - and while many students may complete their entire three or more years at university without ever needing to visit the advice centre, it's still good to know it's there if you do need it! read more
