She has a variety of backdrops, placement accessories, pose recommendations, and invite us to bring any props that we'd like to use for the pictures. She is very patient (especially with crying babies lol) and was very chill with my baby's meltdown it is truly appreciated as I didn't feel rushed to complete the photo session nor did I feel like I had to run out because of my babies fussiness. It felt like a very safe space to diffuse the tantrum and then continue with the photoshoot once he felt better. I love the special touch she has of giving us 1 printed photo after the photoshoot. She was positive and encouraging throughout the shoot, and gave clear, helpful guidance on posing, where to look, and what to do with your hands and arms. The difference between the preview photos and the final edits was incredible. I was unsure about a few shots at first, but she told me to trust her and she was right. She was very patient and gentle with our newborn * The shots she came up with are super creative * The quality of the photos was superb (we got canvas prints) * Michelle's photo editing skills are fantastic -- we had multiple photos that were "OK" but after some light editing they came out amazing The bad * Very expensive. Be ready to pay (I won't say how much exactly, but for us, on the order of $1000's) * The turnaround time for the photos was quite long. We took our photos in September and we didn't receive the prints until December. Apparently she went on vacation in between but we were unaware of this. This is unacceptable. We're paying top dollar for these photos, so I'm going to expect quality (which she delivered on) and a reasonable timeline for the service. * The packages are kind of ridiculous. For example, we bought canvas prints for a bunch of photos (that cost us a hefty sum for each). We wanted digital copies of each of those photos as well, but we took a hard pass; it would've cost us an additional $100-150 for each digital! We're paying top dollar for the prints, why can't the digitals be included? Overall I am happy because the photos came out great, but next time I'll be doing more research and shopping around more.

She was so patient and kind that our daughter did not wake up the whole session. The pictures were amazing and people still talk about our birth announcement card. The second photo shoot was done with my 11 day old son and 2.5 year old daughter. Shirley was so good with my daughter that she asked if she was coming back for more pictures a week later. My son slept through the entire shoot :) The pictures came out amazing and really captured everything we were looking for. I love not having to take my newborn out to a studio and doing the shoot in the privacy of my own home. Her prices are worth every penny and she gets the pictures back in a week. My experience with Olga Kolchina as an event photographer was nothing short of a disaster. I hired…read moreher for 2.5 hours, during which she promised to deliver 80-100 high-quality photos per hour. Not only did she fail to meet this promise, but the photos she did provide--just around 200 in total--were poorly shot, lacked focus, and completely missed the essence of the event. What's worse is that she failed to capture the most important parts of the event--there were only three photos of the cake and one of the backdrop and decor, which were the central highlights. When I confronted her about this gross oversight, she dismissed my concerns, claiming she had taken "17 photos of the decor" and that the backdrop was "visible in the background" of some shots--as if that was acceptable. I felt her response was careless and unprofessional, showing a total lack of empathy and zero regard for the emotional significance these moments held for us. When I expressed my disappointment and concern over the low-quality and incomplete coverage, she shockingly deleted the photos and flat-out refused any refund. In my opinion this wasn't just bad service--it was emotionally upsetting and deeply disrespectful. Based on my experience I would not recommend Olga Kolchina for event photography. I felt her behavior was negligent, and her attitude was disimissive and hiring her was a huge mistake that cost us precious memories and caused us avoidable emotional distress.
