Let me start this so-so review by complimenting the servers: they are AMAZING. Not just the one in our theater, but the others I passed on my way to / from the restroom before the show. Every single employee made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Unfortunately, the theater we were in needs a MAJOR renovation. The seating felt like millions of people had plopped down before us, and the sound was on par with a second-run theater from the early 00s. The food and drink pricing is what you would expect - higher than a local sports bar, but not egregious like an arena or stadium. No knocks because it wasn't surprising. I really think this is one of the best cinemas out there. The accommodations are at par with most upscale full-service theaters, even if some of the smaller rooms don't have reclinable seats. But what really sets them apart is their seat service (full kitchen, full bar) and the quality of their food. From Cinopolis to all the rest, I've been to them all and sometimes you have to wait too long after pressing the button, Sometimes you actually have to get up and look for somebody, most of the times the food is trash, but it's OK cause you're not there for fine-dining cuisine. But this place really delivers with its food. The kitchen really does a great job. Everything is above par for cinema food and I really mean above par. We decided to check this movie theatre out with the kids to do the K-Pop Demon Hunters sing-a-long experience and the kids had a great time. First off the theatre is very nice, and clean and the staff was very nice and attentive. Once you arrive you check-in, they give you a menu and a kids menu if you have children. You go to your theatre, sit and place your order with the staff working in the theatre. There is a red button on the front of the arm rest to receive service at any time during the screening. I've been to several luxury theatres like IPIC and Cinepolis and this is has a very similar vibe but with a kid friendly touch. The swivel tables attached to the seats are small and they serve food in trays. It felt like 4th grade again. It was perfect for my kids and this will be a fun place to bring them for kid movies but it's not really a date night type of place for me. Also, I wasn't able to lean back in my chair too far to get comfortable. Another cool thing about this theatre is that they have sensory friendly special needs screenings where they keep the lights up and the volume low. They allow kids to move around, talk, and even dance and have fun in the isles. These screenings usually happen on select Saturdays at 11:00am and the tickets are free for all attendees on a first come, first served basis. I'm always down to support businesses with a positive initiative. As for the food, we ordered popcorn, bacon cheese burger sliders with fries and I had an Arnold Palmer, while the boys had blueberry slushies. The food was just ok, the boys were disappointed because they couldn't mix their slushy flavors like other theatre's and the sliders were mid. I couldn't tell if the bun was hard or a pretzel bun. I'm leaning towards it being a little hard. Overall, the kids had a blast and that's all that matters. Took my son here this past weekend. Theater is nice, just wish our seats reclined. Service was great. He enjoyed a green apple icee and we both liked the popcorn. I tried an old fashion since it was a three hour movie. Silly me, I had to high expectations. The old fashion was poorly made unfortunately and way overpriced just like everything at a theater. This is the best theater in town to catch a movie as it offers comfy chairs that recline and a full menu of food and drinks at your seat. Plus they have a full bar outside of the theater for relaxing before the movie. And on Tuesdays they offer discounted tickets for six dollars all day plus a beer special of six dollars. I used to love this place and came alot, even though its 40 minutes away ... The screen is good, people are nice. Its the food thats been going downhill for months. I been trying to switch up the foods cause its been getting bad. But everything's going down hill. My favorite item was the mudslide drink but last night it was so bad, the appetizer I always get the 1/2 nachos thing was to crazy salted, my wifes wings were cold and she said she can taste like freezer burn in em, my sandwhich wasnt the worst just wasnt good. . Its been dissappinting coming here. It was a fun experience but like everything the quality always drops. And its not like its a 1 time thing it literally gets worse each time I go now, like the last 5 times have sucked. I think im a stop or atleast give this place a long break and hope more people start complaining so they can start a change. read more

5 stars for staff because they were so attentive (Hayden was our server and he was the best!), but somebody needs to overhaul the drinks. I ordered the hurricane and it was a sweet, sticky mess that tasted like a syrupy fruit punch. I'm pretty sure they forgot the rum or there was very little (the description said three types of rum and I just don't believe that). Way too much grenadine or whatever syrups that were using. I don't think there was any juice in it. Someone needs to take that "bartender" to a tiki bar and teach them what a hurricane made with care really tastes like. The pain chiller wasn't too bad, but again it didn't seem like there was rum in it. Weird (I like mocktails but only when I order them). I was going to get food but I figured being the drinks were so terrible I didn't want to chance spending more money. The seats didn't recline at all in theater 2 and that was disappointing. It would have been better for them to build it with less seats in the auditorium and make it more comfortable, considering the services they offer. read more

Okay, i see the major potential in this place and i believe if they really want to they can improve some things! The menu options really pop and the food is great. The drinks i would say taste strong but seem watered down at the same time. My biggest issue is unfortunately with the seats, they sit you straight up and there really is no room to just "sit back and relax". You almost just keep forgetting that you can't recline and keep disappointing yourself trying. Unfortunately, i don't see myself coming back because of that issue, but would love to see them fix it and i'd love to consider! read more

This is one of the best movie theater I have ever been too. You can see a movie, order food and have a drink at the same time. I usually order the chicken tenders with for starters I get the mozzarella sticks which they are so good. Service is really good and staff are really friendly. I haven't had any bad experiences. Depending on the day, parking can be hard to find. Compare to other movie theaters, this one is new with comfortable seats. I highly recommend this movie theater. read more

Our first time going to SMG and it was a fun experience. The seats were a little worn out but still comfortable. We did the 2 for 35 meal deal and ordered the nachos as our appetizer, it was ok. The chicken that was added on top did not have much flavor. For our two entrees we ordered the hot honey pepperoni pizza which was amazing! Flavor was super yummy. We also got the BBQ Bacon cheeseburger but didn't have much bbq flavor to it. Service was fast and staff were nice. Fun experience and would be back but would want to try other foods to see if no flavor is a consistent thing. read more

They would not let my daughter and her friends in to a movie they had prepaid for. They're 17 years old and have no reason to not be let in. I gave permission and walked up there with them. Young blond worker barely over the age of 18 was rude to my child and her friends. When we tried to get a refund they told us it wasn't possible and gave us gift cards instead. I can't begin to express my frustrations with my visit tonight. With so many options for different movie theaters you would expect a higher level of customer service for paying more than you should for glorified bar food and a not so comfortable chair to watch the movie in. Having purchased 5 tickets for an 8 PM showing to take my wife, children, and sister out we decided to meet at 7 PM to have dinner before the movie. We sat and were greeted within a few minutes. We ordered a few waters and asked for a menu. About 10 minutes later our order was taken. The order was put in at 7:18 according to the receipt. We ordered a hummus plate, a two for $35 (this is important for later) of popcorn with chicken tenders and a chicken wrap with the $5 desert option of funnel cake fries, a kids Mac and cheese and a kids pizza. Roughly 10 minutes later the popcorn comes out. Followed by the kids meals and the chicken wrap. The hummus plate arrived shortly there after. Then the waitress brings out the desert and realizes the chicken tenders never came out. Comes back a minute or two later and says they were just getting it together. 15 minutes later still no chicken tenders. Finally at 7:55 the chicken tenders come out. I had been looking for a manager at that time and when I saw the waitress coming to the table walked over and told her how absurd it is that everyone was done eating their dinner and desert before the final plate came out. She said "I'm going to talk to my manager about a discount". I felt the chicken and onion rings expecting them to be fresh out of the fryer....nope they were slightly above room temperature. I waited and it had likely been under a heat lamp for the last 15 minutes. I sent everyone else into the movie as to not be late. At 8:02 I paid for the check. They did in fact remove the chicken tenders off the bill, but in doing so it charged the popcorn, chicken wrap, and churro fries at full prices. So the $35+5 was now $34.50. Thanks for the free desert I guess? If the movie wasn't about to start I would have waiting and spoke to a manager. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had going to a movie. By the time it was over I wanted to get home because my kids were exhausted so here I am, at home...still upset about the whole experience. When you pay $81.15 after the "discount" for dinner and $82.00 for 5 tickets you would expect that a business would try to keep someone a little happier knowing they could have gone elsewhere and spent probably $50 less for the same thing, and seats that recline. I don't often join my family at movie theaters but they go often...if it's up to me it will be at one of the other 4 theaters within a 15 minute drive. I really was so bothered by everything that it was hard to enjoy the movie. read more

My only complaint is I wish the seats reclined back just a bit further but not a huge deal. Ima Barbie girl in a Barbie world.. I'm not made of plastic, but it's fantastic! A giant Barbie box was off to the left as you entered into the theater and as I was wearing a Barbie tee so I felt it appropriate to take a pic inside the box. Plus I came to see Barbie so the theme was just on point. The movie theater is tucked in the back and you'll see corner bakery up front. The lobby has a full bar inside it as well as the ticket counter to purchase your tickets. There are no concessions stands here as they bring your food to you while you sit in your comfy chairs, though I do wish they would recline. You have a little tray attached to your chair so you can set your food/drinks on to eat. You look up the food menu via your phone, they do not have gluten free options so just note you'll be limited to what you can snack on there. And they will serve you throughout the movie so if you want a refill or something else they'll come to you. It's also stadium style seating in here so you don't have to worry about anyone blocking your view. If you haven't been I'd recommend it, plus who doesn't like the fact that you can drink alcohol while watching a movie! read more

I never go to any other movie theaters, studio movie grill is always my go to spot. I've been coming here for years and I'm happy to see they have been working to add new items and just updated the physical menu too. My favorite items are the Moscow mule, house rita, coconut chicken and shrimp combo, and sliders- all partner well with the $6 Tuesday movie nights. All the servers I've encountered have always been friendly and attentive, and just walking through to get to your theater or seats you are always greeted by smiling faces. There are the occasional slip ups with sauces ordered but it is bound to happen. I think the only improvements needed are some seats seem to be losing their cushion and some tables are become more and more slanted which make me weary for my drinks! read more

Came here to see the Barbie movie and had a great time! Love how you can order food and drinks out at the bar AND at your seat! I got a bbq chicken pizza and it was pretty tasty for being at a movie theater. Also loved the Barbie movie signature drink. My only wish is that the seats had a foot rest, but that's just me being spoiled from all the super upgraded theaters nowadays..childhood me would be more than amazed even at the seats and service here! read more

My friend and I came for a private viewing and overall had a good experience. This theater is located in the Simi town center and I like that on a weeknight it's really not that busy. I'm curious if it's super busy on the weekends? But for a weekday I like that it's pretty quiet and you get the theater with much less people inside. They had ample parking but again, it wasn't busy. Even if it was this is a big center so I'd imagine you'd be fine either way. I can't speak to the ticket pricing and we were able to come for free. I will say the staff here are super nice and welcoming! It was a really good experience overall and I appreciated that everyone just seemed like they wanted to help. The menu for dining in at the theater is impressive! Huge selection of appetizers, bites, and a couple main dishes. Also they have a cocktail menu so that's a plus. This is definitely more of a "treat" yo self type of a theater as it does all start to add up and can be pricy, but it's a fun experience and change from a regular theater. It's basically dinner and a movie without having the leave the theater. I found the food to be good for movie theater food. The chicken strips were better then most restaurants I go to, super crispy and a bigger portion than I thought they'd give. They also weren't stingy with the dipping sauces which I appreciated. I got popcorn too and that was classic. Maybe needed a little more butter but good. My only upgrades or reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that these seats don't recline. I mean I get it, it would be hard for the servers to get around if your legs were out but it is much more comfortable when you can lean back a little. The seats were at least leather/fake leather so comfortable though. Also the service did have its hit or misses from time to time. While everyone was super friendly I had asked if I could pay for my food before the movie started so I wouldn't get interrupted. The girl suggested to wait until halfway as that would be "easier for her" but then she also said "but whatever you want". That was a little uncomfortable because I wanted to respect her comment but also didn't get initially why I couldn't just pay when I was ready. In hindsight I wonder if they are told to say that hoping you'll end up ordering more food? Just a hunch. So of course I was respectful and did it her way which I didn't prefer because I got dropped off a check in the dark, that I couldn't read while the movie was going, and then ultimately it left me waiting a little behind once the movie ended to finish up with her when I just wanted to leave. Not a big deal but maybe listening to the preference of the customer next time could be considered. All in all it was definitely a good time and a fun new movie going experience. Food: Burger was extremely dry and the bun was so greasy! The fries were very hard and crunchy. The popcorn was tasty and I took the leftovers with me. Why would you serve me popcorn with butter and not give me napkins. Starry again, wanted Sprite but they have a Pepsi contract and it's definitely not the similar. The first men's restroom closest to the entrance was fully lit except the first facet closest to the door isn't working and out of place with the sink. It's like someone was working on it and didn't put it back into place. Before the movie started I went to the other men's restroom near my movie screening and this restroom was dark and small. There is only light near the stalls and the light that shines above the toilet also wasn't bright and someone could fall with the bad lighting if there was water on the ground. Hayden, was polite and made perfect eye contact with fantastic customer service. He was happy I had been here before. When I overheard another conversation he had with new customers saying it was their first time here, he greeted them as if they were friends. The theater was so clean and the sound quality was 10/10. The picture was crystal clear and I highly recommend coming here and enjoying Minus One like I did. The wait time for food was quick.
