To start, driving up to the parking lot, I was confused, I thought I was driving up to an abandon building. The landscaping was inexistent, grass was tall and overgrown, the outside of the building's walls were full of mildew and rust, there was a rusty broken light pole laying in the parking lot, then I saw where it came from and there were exposed wires hanging out. I tried to look past it and figured it would get better. Well upon checking in I was charged $20 per day for a total of $40 for incidentals on top of the amount due. Nowhere on the website did it state this. I can understand maybe $10 a day but $20. Then when we got into our room, it smelled musty, there was hairs on the bed, the comforter had like a blood stain on it, lightbulb missing from one of the lamps, the room just didn't feel clean. For my kids sake, I didn't say anything. That evening we went to the pool for a while, that was another health hazard. Pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while, the chair used to help disabled people in the pool was broken with exposed circuits on the controls, some sort of pipe sticking out of the ground with wires hanging out of it by the pool, the picnic area was trashy and weeds growing everywhere. When we tried to go back inside, our card key did not work to get back in either of the two doors. We had to knock and get the desk clerks attention to let us in. Then he tells us, oh yes the doors do not work. So that was day one, on the second day we went for the hot breakfast which was mediocre at best. Coffee was cold, juices were warm, food was meh. When returning to our room our key did not work to get back in. I had to go twice to the desk to get the keys reactivated. Last but not least, the ice machines on the first floor are not working, the stair wells and hallways are very dirty. Now for the icing on the cake, at check out I was charged another $40 instead of giving me my original $40 I was charged for incidentals.

From making the reservation to checking out they are friendly, helpful, and folks you would like for neighbors. For a pet owner the location is great with large grass areas towards the back of the hotel to the northwest and southeast. Many of the other guests are working in the area. What does that mean? No late loud guests or parties, no parking lot problems. Always a pleasant short ride to Mustang Island or over the new bridge to Corpus. Just finished a week stay and looking forward to next visit!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My fiancé and I made reservations for this hotel because this is where the wedding party was staying. Our reservations were made months in advance, credit card info given and I received a confirmation number. We make the drive from Austin, TX to Aransas Pass, TX for a wedding. We get to the hotel and they didn't have our reservation (although I gave them my confirmation#). I told the front desk clerk, she looks in the computer and nothing. At this point I'm not a happy camper (for those of you who truly know me). I politely told her that as a consumer this is not my issue, so you need to fix it. After a few minutes going back and forth with this person (didn't see her name tag, not sure if she even had one on). Her resolution: We don't have a queen size room, well we do, but not for the number of days you want. So I can give you a king size room and charge you the regular room rate. WRONG ANSWER....not happening. I was quoted a price of $72.25 and that's what I expect to pay. Then she tells me well I can give you a 15% discount which meant we would pay $93.50. At this point, I'm tired of arguing with this person. Fine, we get the room and OMG!!! This room is HORRIBLE. It is FILTHY, the furniture and floors are dirty. Thank goodness we brought our own sheets, pillowcases, blankets and the most important Clorox Wipes. So you mean to tell me without the discount I would be paying more than $100 for this type of room? Prices are crazy for how this hotel looks. Once I figure out how to post pictures, I will post pictures of our room. Oh...this saga gets better folks, let me tell you. So we spot the happy couple in the lobby and advise them of our experience, come to find out, this happened to 3 other couples who made reservations. We should've been like the smart ones and got a room elsewhere. Needless to say, if we ever go back to the Texas coast, we will not stay there. This makes me think they get way too many complaints so they've only allowed a small space for your complaint.
