I was nervous when the assistant kept checking my foils and didn't know where to start with the removal of the foils - not a good sign. I didn't get my hair blown out, because I was afraid of the cost, as I'm pretty sure it's NOT included in the price of a haircut. So, when I get home, I realized my hair was butchered. The highlights were bright yellow and orange, and crooked all over my head. There were some spots with huge chunks and then other areas were the high light looked like it had slipped mid-process. I quickly contacted the scheduler, since for some reason that's the only way to reach Mackezie, and was told I probably just "need a toner and that's the main issue, as for the placement of the highlights, she feels there's no issue." The highlights were absolutely the main issue. The timing of my foils was obviously not calculated correctly, it looked like foils were quite literally slipping from my hair and taken off way too early. It looked like I had gotten it done months ago and it grew out. I don't know if it was a error because they overbooked and couldn't focus on the timing correctly, but it's a shame because it cost me over $600++, not including what I had to pay to go to another salon to have it corrected.

When the salon reached out to check on my status, I explained that I had just parked and was walking over. I completely understood when they had to cancel my appointment due to my tardiness and apologized several times. However, when I went online to rebook, I discovered that I had been blacklisted. While I fully understand that late arrivals, cancellations, and no-shows are difficult for any business, being blacklisted on a first offense seems bizarre and unfair. I would have completely understood if this were a second offense or a recurring issue, but things happen, and this was an unavoidable situation. I guess my name didn't fit with their salon aesthetic enough to give me a one-time warning as a first-time client. Unfortunately, I understand that it is still within their rights to refuse service. Now I am stuck with a haircut where my deformed ear is visible for the whole world to see because the stylist decided to give me that haircut that she wanted to give me instead of the one that I asked for. I paid for my haircut with a card and departed in a polite manner, but the moment I hit the sidewalk, I could no nothing but scream profanity as the realization that I couldn't cover my deformed ear kicked in. Now I am not only out $18, but I am stuck with a haircut which leaves me open to yet more questions along the lines of "What's wrong with your ear?" [Edit, I called the place and she offered me a refund, but this doesn't undo the damage she did to my personal appearance. I'll take the refund, but this review stands.] I grew the sides of my hair longer specifically to hide that ear, and the stylist decided that she knew better than me where my haircut was concerned, and forced her personal preferences onto my head. That stylist is very fortunate that I have superior control over my temper, because she has left me feeling disfigured with the haircut she gave me, and now that I'm home and trying to style this mess, I see that she couldn't even manage to trim my bangs straight, and the hair on one side is not symmetrical with the hair on the other side. With the mess she left me with, with my deformed ear exposed, I might just shave my head instead of putting up with this terrible thing she did to my head. He took his time cutting my hair dry, then shampooing and conditioning it, blowing it out and finishing the cut when dry and blown out. Jeff put some products in my hair that made it feel and smell great too. I definitely will come back to him for cuts and for either highlights or single process color. The true test would be how long would I wait upon arrival. This can be so problematic. Another check- no wait at all! My stylist, Kerry, was courteous and friendly. She asked how I prefer to wear the front and went right to work. In about a little more than an hour and a half, she was done. I appreciated her explanation about the oil she applied, and why she braided my hair differently from my previous stylist, which would put less tension on my hair.
