I cannot express how thankful I am for Mathnasium…read more I am a college student who struggled all of my life with mathematics and I made my first A+ in Business Calculus with the team's help. The staff is amazing, encouraging, and very thorough in explaining concepts. I regained my academic confidence that I had nearly lost as a Sophomore in College, and I can't thank Mrs. Angie and her staff enough for supporting me through my course. Not to mention, this was a fast paced (5 week) crash course at LSU and I had little to no algebra skills and had forgotten it altogether. Angie helped me go back and refine my algebra skills in no time. I didn't expect to pass this course, and would've never believed I would with flying colors! Thank you Mathnasium for all that you did for me! It means the world to me and is helping me long-term with my academic performance. I will miss you.

My daughter was a…read moreproduct of Montessori education (where they don't do any testing or give any quantifiable information on how she was truly doing in math) and was entering a gifted & talented program at the district public school. Unfortunately, we had no idea where she really was at in math and if she'd be able to keep up with the upcoming math curriculum. So I brought her to Mathnasium for an assessment. They did the assessment for free, then they presented some pricing packages to us to get her registered for. It's expensive, so prepare to spend some money! My husband & I chose to pay monthly, instead of a 6-month contract. The program was great for the first full month we did it, then she felt like she was doing things over and over again and she (a 7-year old) noticed that she wasn't advancing or being challenged enough. We addressed it with one of the tutors and kept her in for another couple of weeks. Once we figured that the time she had there was enough, we pulled her out and we'd like to think that what she was taught there helped her in her stronger math skills now. My husband's also very strong in math and helps her a lot. Thankfully, she's a quick learner and knows how to work independently. We are glad we brought her here and glad when we decided to take her out.

Burk is an AMAZING teacher who genuinely cares about each of his students learning and passing. I struggle in a class setting because I am pretty sure I have ADD. But I struggle even more with online classes so I knew I needed the class setting. Burk teaches in a way that is very engaging. He has a very calculated way of teaching designed to give you mental breaks (telling stories, cracking jokes,) which prevents you from just feeling overwhelmed and spacing out. I really enjoyed his classes. He offers a two week course Mon-Fri 9a-1pm monthly. You can sit through it Again for free for up to 3 months. I sat through it twice because both of my boys got sick and derailed my study time. I was thankful for the opportunity to attend twice. In addition to learning the ins & outs of Louisiana and National Real Estate, he had professionals sit in to show us a mock closing, and talk about home inspections. He also offers night classes. Not only does he offer Baton Rouge classes but also Lafayette, Lake Charles, Mandeville, Monroe, and Metairie. I came for Louisiana Real Estate but he offers many courses including Mississippi Real Estate, Mortgage Origination, Home Inspection, Residential Appraiser, Insurance, Auctioneering, and Louisiana Broker. His wife Lisa teaches the math portions and she's wonderful, she also offers a math tutoring class monthly. I can't wait to pass my test and get my License! Thanks to Burk I'm convinced this will happen sooner than later. When you arrive, pass the building take the first right and park in the lot BEHIND the building (behind comic store.) He also has a computer lab available to all students to use all day during the week. This was extremely helpful for studying. Thanks Burk!

That idea quickly expanded to other subjects once I saw her skills rapidly improved with Ms. Usha's help. My daughter's math skills are ahead of all of class mates and her reading is right where it needs to be for age which is saying a lot considering her school day is spent almost entirely in French. My daughter has more focus as a result of the one on one time she spends with Usha. She is much more willing to do the work that she needs to in order to succeed and believe me when I say that my daughter is a tough customer and does not like being told to do ANYTHING. I strongly believe this is a result of the confidence she is gaining in all of her subjects with Usha's help. We have been with Usha for almost a year and we meet with her every Saturday. If a day has to be missed we make it up virtually, which works great as well. She is an indispensable asset that I honestly treasure and I plan on keeping her as long as she will have us. I would also like to mention that Usha worked with my 14 year old step son to prepare for the Ben Franklin entrance exam (he attended the same French Immersion School as my daughter) and he received one of the top scores for that entrance session. If you are considering adding tutoring to you or your child's schedule please take the plunge. You will not regret it. Thankful Mom
